We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 11 (Xu Lu and Kimi Cut)

First off, I'd just like to apologize for how late my posts are. I never thought jetlag would be such an awful thing. For the past week, staring at the screen for thirty minutes was my limit. Anyways, onward to Episode 11!

This episode has a Cinderella feel plus a happy ending?

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 10 (Xu Lu and Kimi)

I’m back! This post came a little late as I am still recovering from jetlag. I thought I was immune to jetlag… guess not.

As for this episode, Xu Lu's in a dire state. I think she's fallen more in love with Kimi.

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 7 (Xu Lu and Kimi)

First off, the preview we saw was a bogus. There’s no school segment at all. That preview probably had more smiles than this entire segment. Is there some sort of law in drama-land/variety-land that dictates a stellar episode must be followed by a stale one?

Murphy’s Law of Love Episode 13

This episode was sooooo much better. I finally get to translate Guan Xiao Tong’s lines purely for her and not because I needed her lines to make sense of Ji Jia Wei’s. Usually it’s Jia Wei that gets the meatier dialogues but this episode belongs to Guan Xiao Tong and her unconditional love for him.

Murphy’s Law of Love Episode 12

Sorry, this recap came out really late but that also speaks to how much I loved this episode. Basically, Zhi Yu finally gets in the way. This might be a quicker read than usual.

We are in Love Episode 7 is Postponed Again

This time for a valid reason. The television station had cancelled today’s variety shows to express condolences for the cruise ship that had capsized earlier this week.

My Amazing Bride Review

Here’s my basic synopsis: it’s about a sane, wonderful woman falling in love with an intellectually disabled genius, wrapped up with a plot involving the dethronement of a king.

This drama was completely overlooked. It’s got quality in terms of acting and plot. Despite the kiddish opening theme song, the drama’s got more heart than the silliness it’s desperately selling. True to its nature though, it was fun and zippy without being overladen with draggy clichés. If it’s a plus for you, you probably don’t need a box of Kleenex.

The Cage of Love Episode 7 and 8

Stuff happens. Jiang Yu's being stupid but his stupidity cannot beat Cai Hong's.

June 2, 2015

The Cage of Love Episode 5 and 6

These two episodes are making me like all four leads (maybe not as much for Fei Fei). They all get a little bit more mischievous with one another, mostly involving Jiang Yu though.

We are in Love Episode 3 Tidbit (Xu Lu and Kimi)

I wasn't going to translate this one because there was really nothing new in this tidbit but now I know why the producers released this segment; it's very much related to Episode 6 (so for those of you who haven't been up to date, this may be a spoiler).

We are in Love Episode 7 is Postponed!

D:

Sorry for the late notice but I just found out now. I thought I was going to be late publishing the recap but I guess the fault won't be on me.

Mask Episode 1 and 2 First Impression

I like you. I like you very much. I had not expected to like this melodrama but the first episode zoomed by without me knowing. In the second hour I stuck around because I needed to know how that switcheroo happened. By the end of it, the setup was complete.

Mask feels like King Flower done right. Lol. After the fifth episode of that TWdrama, I was fairly certain the drama wasn’t going my way so I dropped it pretty soon. However, I really wanted to add King Flower to my completed list because after that drama finished its run, I did watch all the Terry scenes.  Haha. So, Terry becoming Korean and actually getting the girl without an open ending seems like a pretty good drama to me. I’m also looking forward to Byun Ji Sook/Seo Eun Ha’s addition into his family to fix up everyone. I think I’ll really like this drama if the quality of the plot stays fairly consistent. The mood of this drama is perfect for me: not too dark, not too light (I really do have an aversion to dark stuff).

Murphy’s Law of Love Episode 11

So far the exes prove to be zero threat to our couple.

The Cage of Love Episode 3 and 4

The Cage of Love can be such an off-putting name. It screams possessiveness. So if you really despise possessiveness, you might not want to watch this drama. But I like to mention the drama's really not bad at all. I quite adore it actually. Can’t they have used something similar to its Chinese title, 抓住彩虹的男人, which directly translates to ‘The Man that Held onto Rainbow’. And rainbow in Chinese is pronounced as Cai Hong. Ding Dong Ding. The man that held onto Rainbow is none other then Jiang Yu. And that’s exactly what Jiang Yu does (unconsciously) for these two episodes.

As I post this, I’ve already watched Episode 5 and I think I might just be hooked onto this show. Jiang Yu’s pretty cute with his petty jealously and Cai Hong is oh so smart. (:

The Cage of Love Episode 1 and 2

A simple summary: It’s Romeo and Juliet in the Republican era of China: Jiang Yu’s father is killed and Cai Hong’s father is responsible. And of course, these two, Jiang Yu and Cai Hong, are our star crossed lovers.

It’s a good start albeit typical. The drama seems to rely on the star power of the lovely Zhang Shuang and charming Hawick Lau but the storyline is engaging and wonderfully paced. The future angst is all set up but I'm not dreading it. I think I'm actually looking forward to how the hate in their love-hate relationship will develop from here.

From what I know this drama will air two episodes every single day starting from May 26 and capping at 35 episodes. It will be a recapping nightmare if I do intend to stick to this drama. I don't know yet.

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 6 (Xu Lu and Kimi)

Okay, so the preview fooled me last week. I got teary in this episode but I should clarify that I’ve got one of the world’s most sensitive pair of lacrimal ducts. Ever.

Murphy's Law of Love Episode 10

Things are still sailing smoothly. I feel like I'm just waiting for that storm to hit me anytime now.

On a side note, I recently checked out Li Jia Yin’s/Ivelyn Lee (Guan Xiao Tong) profile and she’s born in 1983. This girl is 32 years old… BUT! The real shocker is she’s actually one year older than Danson Tang… My brain cannot absorb this fact.

We are in Love Episode 5 Tidbit (Xu Lu and Kimi)

This week’s extra tidbit was funny so I’m doing a little recap on it. (:

♦ ♦ ♦

Also I'd like to make a little clarification for Episode 1. I realized I missed the beginning portion when I was recapping/translating it. In the beginning, all the cast members were interviewed for particular characteristics they'd like in their partner. It's really short but it explains the confusion on my part about this whole astrology issue. Here it is:

[3:18 of the full segment of Episode 1] Kimi reveals his wish list for his partner to be:  "Long hair. Dimples. Just like Liu Yi Fei. As long as she isn’t Capricorn. If I want to cherish my life, then I need to keep a distance from Capricorns" (I think that applies to him only or his star sign…)

If you're confused about the context, I've edited my post for Episode 1 so you can look there for a better clarification.

Sorry guys! >.<

The Four Episode 33 and 34

I give up. I give up. I GIVE UP! This will be my last “recap” of this drama or it will be the death of me. At this point I just want all the bad guys to prevail and take over that darn universe and blow it up to smithereens.

I really didn’t want another dropped series but I can’t keep up with this drama. It exceeds my logic.

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 5 (Xu Lu and Kimi)

Our “flustered couple” is pretty much comfortable with each other and this episode showers us with just that.

May 16, 2015

Warm and Cozy Episode 1 and 2 – First Impression

Hong sisters love making the typical untypical. First episode put a kibosh on the twin disaster. Second episode capped the cancer ordeal. Instead of these clichés keeping our leads apart, they actually bring them together. Making the typical untypical. Using the first week to cover these dreadful clichés that everyone hates, does this mean I can assume, the unforeseen central problem(s) will not revolve around these clichés? Tell me so.

Murphy's Law of Love Episode 9

Oddly, I don't find myself disliking the ex-girlfriend too much.
& Seeing my screenshots, I realized I'm quite biased towards Danson Tang...

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 4 (Xu Lu and Kimi's cut)

Having to translate, I watched this episode twice and I found myself smiling from ear to ear right up to the end each time. This episode almost tops Episode 1 for me (excluding the other two couples). That's how great it was.

May 9, 2015

Murphy’s Law of Love Episode 8

We are served hamburger today. Let’s not imagine hamburger these days but back when we’re children and how much we (imagined we) loved them.

The Four Episode 29 - 32

How can a reunion after six episodes of dreadful separation be so bland? Show, you are a genius.

The Four Episode 25 - 28

This drama is so terrible, I ought to make it worse. This isn’t a recap; it’s nowhere near it. If anyone has been following me on this series (which I doubt), I’ve never done a proper job of recapping anyways. So please do click away from this post. I beg of you. Really.

We are in Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 3

Wow, this took incredibly long to translate for some reason, maybe it's because I dreaded the second part of Kimi and Xu Lu's segment. At least the first part was filled with butterflies sprinkled with blushing pink. Quite literally.

Murphy's Law of Love Episode 7 and Preview for Episode 8

See, I told you guys unforeseen trouble will be coming! BUT let’s embellish on the good and galore for now and fret later.

April 28, 2015

We Are In Love [我们相爱吧] Episode 2

Everything seems to revolve around food this week. Seeing as how they put Kimi and Xu Lu’s segment at the end, we can tell which couple is gaining public interest. However, Ruby Lin’s segment is starting to interest me a little more while I’m still trying to get on board with Liu Wen’s.

Murphy’s Law of Love Episode 6 and Preview for Episode 7

I’m only translating dialogues I like. This episode got the guy saying corny lines but hey that’s one of my guilty pleasures of watching Tdramas.

& I’m so glad there’s finally a watchable Tdrama. I just don't want to sing praises to this drama yet because there’s 17 episodes of unforeseen trouble ahead. Actually, make that 16 because next week’s episode looks great.

April 23, 2015

The Four Episode 21 - 24

Episodes 21-24 = Kidnaps x 2 + Near-deaths x 2 + Amnesia.

The Four Episode 19 and 20

Again, I only write about Li Mo and Leng Xue. I care about nothing else. However when the show makes their romance so anti-climatic, I can hear the taut strings attaching me to the show snapping one by one.

Nothing bad happened; everthing was good. Which is precisely why it sucked. I don't even know how and why things got to mutuality but we're there. And the second we're there, there's already trouble at the noble idiocy level. Show, you're doing everything wrong.

We Are In Love [我们相爱吧] - Episode 1

Chinese Version of WGM that aired Apri 19, 2015.

So far I'm loving the first couple: Kimi and Xu Lu.Their first meeting = JaeRim + JoonMi’s. Xu Lu resembles Seo Hyun (in her WGM days) but more playful while Kimi is the experienced fella minus the cheesy lines. Their cuteness reminds me of TaeEun in the early days too. Tell me how awesome these two are. Other couples include: Ren Zhong + Ruby Lin and Choi Siwon + Liu Wen.

Update:

April 14, 2015

The Four Episode 17 and 18

I can’t believe I’m wasting almost two hours of my life to watch less than two minutes of these two.

Highlight of episodes: Leng Xue realizes his feelings for Chu Li Mo.

Let's Eat Season 2 Episode 1 and 2 First Impression

I was graced with my lack of interest in Let’s Eat for the first season while it was airing that I got to indulge in the full glory of the series in a zippy after it was completed. Initially my interest was diverted because I thought this was only food porn. I mean, I understand there exists a great handful of watchers that would bite on this hook but I’m not interested; to me, there’s much more to this show than just food.

As for the second season, I’m liking it so far and I’m hoping I’ll be loving it.

Divorce Lawyers Episode 9

Divorce Lawyers
There's a new prominent player in the court and the case takes a new turn. But according to Shi Hai Dong, this person lacks a brain.

The Four Episode 13 - 16

Just finished this week’s episodes of The Four and here’s the recap:

April 7, 2015

Divorce Lawyers Episode 7

It’s an interesting episode as Luo Li’s mom comes into the scene and soaks up all the juicy details about her daughter’s love life. Shi Hai Dong earns himself a little stalker-angel from above but that doesn’t last long.

The Four Review (Episode 2 - 12)

Yes, I gave up on recapping this. If I were to continue recapping, I’d be too busy nitpicking and not enjoying the show. I’ll be frank, the acting’s way below par and the storyline…well it’s a bit too fluffy with no substance and too much CG. After the first few episodes I thought I was just going to check in and check out once in a while but I ended up not only being caught up, I also find myself thinking about it once in a while. I think I’m a little addicted – I mean additions are usually on the bad stuff, right? I’m actually a sucker for the romance between Leng Xue and Chu Li Mo and for the backdrop of four handsome guys spinning around – I mean fighting – and solving cases.

Divorce Lawyers Episode 6

We’re at court and it’s not the obvious party that wins the first trial; Luo Li finally gets a taste of Shi Hai Dong’s prowess.

March 30, 2015

Divorce Lawyers Episode 5

Luo Li and Shi Hai Dong enjoy some great hijinks after becoming neighbours.Their clashes are also endless as they fight for their respective clients.

On the other hand, Mei Yu and Cao Qian Kun are on board for an unpleasant ride.

March 29, 2015

Divorce Lawyers Episode 4

An episode of coincidences, coincidences, and coincidences. But they’re pretty awesome coincidences that are bound to keep you engaged.

Divorce Lawyers Episode 3

Two big events happen in this episode: a divorce and a marriage.

March 26, 2015

Divorce Lawyers Episode 2

We’re still in setup mode as Shi Hai Dong prepares to bring his divorce case to court. Interesting dynamics brew between him and Luo Li as they encounter each other constantly for this case. Elsewhere in the show, another couple is planning a marriage. A marriage in a show about divorce lawyers, hm.

March 24, 2015

Divorce Lawyers Episode 1

I went into this drama thinking it wasn’t anything special and I knew nothing about the actors. To be honest, I was rather reluctant in the pairing because the male lead looked so old but he impresses me and the female lead is awesome. They are seriously hilarious together and their competitive nature is fun to watch. It took me a few episodes to fully engage but some of the scenes are so laugh-out-loud worthy I had an urge to write about them. Plus the divorce cases are treated with more heart than I thought. All in all I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did.

March 23, 2015

The Four Episode 1

My first exposure to The Four series was with the TVB version and I loved it. I’m delving into this one hoping it’ll be even better.  Don’t disappoint me!  Although I’m a bit wary of why this took so long to see the day of light when it was filmed ages ago. I’m hoping that having a longer shelf life means better quality and not the opposite. Did I jinx anything?

If I were to summarize episode one right here I’d say it was divided into two parts: the first chunk was purely to show off it`s CGI skills; the second part was dedicated to Janine Chang.

March 21, 2015

N no Tame Ni Review

This was my second attempt at watching this drama. The first time, I didn’t like the opening because it was too dark for my liking at that time. The second time, I still didn’t like the opening but trudged on through because of all the year-end awards it got.  I mean there had to be something about that drama that got mass attention, right? Otherwise, I would have missed out on Kaseifu no Mita

N no Tame Ni was a pleasant surprise for how light it actually was contrary to its dark premise and dark undertone. I was happy that my ship never sank. More into the narrative, it wasn’t as brilliant as I had hoped but the interconnection between each scenes and the intricateness of each character’s resolve was tied neatly to one another making this an interesting watch that reeled me in one episode after another. I will definitely be keeping tabs on Kubota Masataka’s and Eikura Nana’s future projects.

One more thing! For those looking for an alternative ending, this review might give you a little hope.

My Sunshine 何以笙箫默 Episode 32 (Finale)

This last episode is pure fan service. Half of it is their re-imagination of the past. I didn't know dramas can do that.

My Sunshine [何以笙箫默] Episode 31

It's an episode of dangerous voyages and time travels. (:
