We have a dying grandpa in the hotel – Xu Mi Yu to the rescue~ Only for slacker Yin Xiang to take all the credit.
Then Ji Feng sends Mi Yu on a top-secret mission – steal two shampoo bottles. Yes. Shampoo.
Now Xu Mi Yu is sexually assaulted like this world is only targeting her and ends up being questioned by her manager why she of all people was assaulted. What did she do to the assaulter. Although Mi Yu is weak, she is starting to defend and fight back even if she doesn't quite win yet. (I liked her plan of asking Yin Xiang to come with the tech team).
Breaking news: Xu Mi Yu is fired.
Reason: shampoo.This is very serious shampoo.
But wait. She gets reinstated on the same day and she's promoted to manager?? Sounds like a win, except no one respects her because she hasn’t earned the authority.
Him: Call the manager over.
Her: I am here.
Code Towel. A towel allergy turns into a PR crisis, and the higher-ups decide Xu Mi Yu is the perfect scapegoat. Do they think the public is that dumb? Okay, sometimes – but not this dumb. Ji Feng steps in, shuts down the press, and takes control – making it clear she’s not getting sacrificed.
Highlight of the episode: Ji Feng makes the bed! Scream with me! LOL. (I'm not being serious). The intensity… the focus… Xu Mi Yu would love to be the bed Ji Feng is staring at. Hahaha.
Her: It's just a bed. Calm down.
Heart: I am NOT calm
Love rival enters. With taste. Tan Ji Zhou, an art curator, is impressed Xu Mi Yu gave him directions and offers Xu Mi Yu a reference into fine arts – her speciality. And she turns it down. Because quality room service matters to her. Σ(°□°˶) !! Ji Feng overhears this at the exact moment he’s struggling to secure his position as the new manager, surrounded by people waiting for him to fail – so her choice to stay hits harder than expected.
While ML is still fighting for control, our Xu Mi Yu is earning hers. In a toilet gutter. You have to give this to her.
Ji Feng’s most trusted ally returns. Having Xue Rui and Xu Mi Yu at Ji Feng's side turns his uphill battle to save (and take control of) the hotel into something far more possible.

Nothing new this episode. We just have another crisis: the head chef quits and takes half the kitchen staff with him. Xu Mi Yu steps in. Because being a housewife translate into being able to run a five-star hotel kitchen.
Main CP. Ji Feng is also “helping,” as long as he doesn't bomb the kitchen with tomatoes.
Mistress. Lu Zhen Zhen is not pleased that Mi Yu is suddenly competent everywhere and starts nitpicking her noodles, but Ji Feng shuts that down politely by asking her to take the dish to Marx and serve it professionally.

2CP. Li Qiao Qi has an admirer in Xue Rui :O. I didn't see that coming. She affectionally calls him her gonggong (eunuch). As a very packed man, he's offended. But while everyone celebrates after the kitchen crisis is resolved and she gets promoted, he’s the only one who notices she hasn’t eaten and packed her dinner. Little Duan, CEO fuerdai, shows up to interrupt her dinner time though. Uh oh. I like this gonggong more than Xu Hai Qiao LOL. I actually like this guy liking her! I quite like this actor in The Fearless even though his role wasn't important or likeable. He is charismatic.
Two superstar VIPs check in. One thrives on attention, the other insists on privacy and staying low-key. On the same floor. You can already smell the disaster brewing.
Uh oh. Xue Rui has it bad for Li Qiao Qi.
The no-longer-dying grandpa and the love-rival-curator grandson (Tan Ji Zhou) get a new plot. They've become Ji Feng's interior design consultants because the hotel restaurant is getting a reboot.
Two(-faced) superstar VIPs. Li Bing Yan ("miss low-key") finds out Qiao Fei Fei (miss flashy) is planning a full-scale press conference (courtesy of Xu Mi Yu, who sweetly tipped her off thinking she preferred privacy)… and flips on us by walking out in public with a rumoured boyfriend, stealing every ounce of attention. The result: Qiao Fei Fei gets upstaged; Xu Mi Yu gets played.
A backstory for our mistress. From a young age, Lu Zhen Zhen was taught (by her mother?) that if she didn’t want to end up like her past self, she had to fight – and take what wasn’t hers. A+ student, clearly.
Amid all the “serious” hotel drama with two(-faced) superstars, the real headline emerges: Ji Feng is ji–lous.
And back on the ex-husband front, Nie Yu Cheng is missing the kind of servant wife who would cook him congee when he’s drunk in the middle of the night… the kind that is not Lu Zhen Zhen.

We are multitasking: Xu Mi Yu kisses 小鲜肉 her fresh meat (xiao xianrou = young, attractive man)… uh, correction, 老鲜肉 old fresh meat (lao xianrou – an older but still very attractive man LOL). Which is Ji Feng. And she secures actual meat. It is xianrou (salted pork 咸肉) that save the restaurant. Romance and menu development, all in one go. But really, must our middle-aged couple suffer like this for love? Stranded on an island, stuck sharing a boat, and still forced into wire-tripping accidental kisses? LOL.
The salted pork (鹹肉 xianrou) becomes the hottest item in the hotel – everyone wants a piece of it. But it turns out, Ji Feng, our old fresh meat (老鮮肉 lao xianrou) is just as in demand because his past shows up in the form of Jiang Zhi Chun, a famous foodie KOL. Hello love rival.
They both know it now – Xu Mi Yu and Ji Feng have feelings – but she’s not ready after failing a marriage.

Promotion shake-up: Luo Qing Ping steps into Xu Mi Yu’s old role, and it's deserved – she’s easily the hardest worker after Mi Yu (FL halo aside lol). But Xu Mi Yu’s move to front desk manager isn't nearly as smooth. They greet her promotion with… silence and tension. But Ji Feng makes a very intentional appearance in the lobby – loud and clear message: respect Xu Mi Yu.
And suddenly, after the promotion, everyone notices how pretty Xu Mi Yu is. As if she didn’t look exactly the same yesterday.
The “no-longer-dying” grandpa returns with a grandpa-friend who is now nearly dying. The man is choking on pizza crust.
Ji Feng maneuvers a Heimlich to save pizza-crust choking man, but for extra safety, the grandpa is taken to the hospital…which leaves one urgent question: who’s playing sax tonight? They made a grandpa choke on pizza just to give us: Saxxy Ji Feng. LOL. They didn't name him Kenny J (pronounced as G / Ji) for nothing.
Step-sister Xu is here to drain Xu Mi Yu dry. She wants a tour of the hotel, free food, and cash. Except this time, Mi Yu doesn’t fold. It's a huge moment, considering she spent her whole life pleasing this jiejie. The sister doesn’t take no for an answer and chases her across the lobby, making the entire situation loud and ugly. Tan Ji Zhou steps in and pulls Xu Mi Yu away, immediately noticing that she’s shaking. Meanwhile, Sister Xu is already at the front desk asking who is that man… and is he rich?
Xu Mi Yu isn’t just shaken by her sister. Ji Feng is on her mind too. She compares him to a piece of art that’s already being painted on by someone else, but Tan Ji Zhou counters smoothly: there’s plenty of canvas to go around. Like him!

Then the morning brings consequences: a complaint about Xu Mi Yu being carried drunk into a guest’s room. Off-duty or not, it lands on Ji Feng’s desk, and now he's questioning her. She fires right back, bringing up his situation with Jiang Zhi Chun. He can flirt on duty and she can't sleep in a friend's room off duty? Huff pufff.
Wow. I am not on ML's side when Ji Feng, instead of asking why Xu Mi Yu was hurting, he goes after Tan Ji Zhou for 'taking advantage". Tan Ji Zhou shuts him down immediately by redirecting him to the real issue: maybe focus on her, not your ji-lousy.
This drama. Not only is it giving Xu Mi Yu independence, but also her mother. The hotel suddenly needs someone skilled in delicate food art, and somehow Mom Xu, the country bumpkins, turns out to be a natural. She arrives at the hotel and is instantly charmed by Tan Ji Zhou's curly English saying “Espresso.” Lol.
And of course, Mom Xu's independence is still a work in progress because she's telling her daughter she’s in her 30s, not young anymore, and needs to marry because who will take care of her later. And then she sees Ji Feng and priorities suddenly take on a new standard. This man looks "too good" for his age (40+++), his aura beats celebrities, and now the question isn’t “why aren’t you married yet?” – it’s are you married? Ji Feng does emphases (to future mother-in-law) that he's single.
CEO Duan Ao Xiang is washing dishes because he lost a bet to Li Qiao Qi.
Omo. Mom Xu slaps Lu Zhen Zhen. Nie Yu Cheng yells, "Mom, how could you use violence?!" Lu Zhen Zhen answers by slapping HIM instead. LOL. Because how dare he call her mother?! Xu Mi Yu is stifling a laugh. I cannot fully hate Lu Zhen Zhen, lol.
Surprise! Tan Ji Zhou moves his office to Hong Kong so he can see Xu Mi Yu more often. And he tells her that exactly.
Surprise: Lu Xiao Yan is falling for Xu Mi Yu too. I like girls appreciating girls.
Surprise. You know that stomach pain Nie Yu Cheng gets? It's cancer.
Xu Mi Yu has a winning proposal to attract more customers: target gaokao students with the new exam centre nearby. Yet hands it to Manager Bai instead of Ji Feng, because why go direct when you can complicate things? The plan works though and credit still goes back to Xu Mi Yu. Meanwhile Lu Xiao Yan is looking at Xu Mi Yu with full on admiration because this gaokao proposal benefits her biao-di. I have never seen cousin love this powerful.
Ji Feng finally catches on that all that tension from Xu Mi Yu was jealousy over Jiang Zhi Chun. (Wallace Chung is not bad here at all. It's water and he's drinking it sweetly.)
Everyone's winning, except at Nie Yu Cheng's. We have a sick husband, an absent wife, and a demanding mother. The mother demands Lu Zhen Zhen to sacrifice, but she chooses work 'cause someone has to put bread on the table, and clearly that's not her husband anymore. But blood. Miscarriage??? No. Lu Zhen Zhen has an early labour. But no one is at her bedside when she wakes up. And her priority is she needs to get back to work now for a live gaokao promo she can’t miss. Wow. Why did this workaholic even become a mistress. Her body says no – and so Xu Mi Yu steps in. Of course she does.
Jiang Zhi Chun frames it to Xu Mi Yu that she's the outsider between her and Ji Feng, and even confesses her feelings to Ji Feng – to Xu Mi Yu. Our Mi Yu doesn’t play along – she tells her to say it to him directly and walks out, fully aware of the game Jiang Zhi Chun is playing. But she's not accepting Ji Feng either. Xu Mi Yu is not doing complicated romances – not anymore.
CRISIS! In capitals in case you can't hear: a hearing air goes missing at the hotel. Dun dun dun.
Xu Mi Yu chases down a garbage truck in the pouring rain and digs through bags and bags of garbage to find that hearing aid. She finds it. And collapses.
Ji Feng carries Xu Mi Yu to the hospital, holding her hand through the IV, while we're inserted with RMV = romantic MV.
In this romantic climax, we're actually getting drier instead of wetter LOL.
After all that dry/wet excitement, Tan Ji Zhou and Xu Mi Yu talk art. He sees it clearly how happy she is. He falls a little harder too (especially when she cooks as well), and lets her know that she glistens when she talks about art.
A lot actually happens 🌊🌊.
Tan Ji Zhou moves in to kiss Xu Mi Yu. She can't close that gap though. And runs.
But she initiates the kiss with Ji Feng. And not just that. Xu Mi Yu goes all the way with him!
Except Ji Feng goes all the way to Jiang Zhi Chun. She's suicidal.
Xu Mi Yu cannot accept a man who can't keep his relationship with his exes clean.
And now Tan Ji Zhou is back asking Xu Mi Yu properly this time if he can pursue her. Too bad he's not ML! Because he's very ML material.
"2CP". Duan Ao Xiang asks Li Qiao Qi if what they have is fate from Love Between Fairy and Devil.
What is wrong with me. I'm into the 2MLs for both CPs. Where is my Bulky Eunuch.
Xu Mi Yu finally does the "unthinkable": she quits her parents. "Unthinkable" because Zhu Zhu never looked like the dependent kind to begin with looool. After being used and drained, and with Mother Xu showing time and time again that she doesn't love her daughter, Xu Mi Yu walks out. (But have the parents agreed to to pay their own debt??)
Jiang Zhi Chun redemption. And it is touching, aw. Or maybe I'm easy. She says it clearly to Xu Mi Yu: Ji Feng loves you. She apologizes to Xu Mi Yu, but also tells Mi Yu to apologize to herself. For always loving others better than she loves herself. For holding back. Jiang Zhi Chun has learned it too late that the right moment will past – so Xu Mi Yu shouldn't repeat her mistake of missing out on the right time and the right person.
So Xu Mi Yu runs. She calls Ji Feng who also begins to run. They meet halfway, heart racing. She's not letting herself hesitate this time, and says it first:

Another bed scene. Bold from the crew. I didn't think they'd kiss this much!! And it's handled with taste.
But love doesn't pause Xu Mi Yu's career. She sets her sights next on the marketing team.
Ji Feng is in honeymoon mode: mushy (a bit), devoted, all in. But Xu Mi Yu amps up her workaholic mode. And of course Cdrama MLs love a business woman.
Another workaholic is back: Lu Zhen Zhen. And girl has a lot: fresh off childbirth, juggling a newborn, a sick husband… and still finding time to target Xu Mi Yu’s work?! Does she have a past with Xu Mi Yu?
Fail.
Plan B: sabotage. Send Xu Mi Yu on a morning assignment so she misses the signing, and Duan Ao Xiang can steal the client.
Fail. Because Xu Mi Yu (and Ji Feng) already closed it the night before.
First couple fight. And it’s over Tan Ji Zhou. Xu Mi Yu sees a golden client opportunity in his art gallery; Ji Feng sees pure risk… or maybe just a little too much jealousy mixed in. But Ji Feng comes through and the art gallery is set to be hosted at the hotel. So what could possibly go wrong…
Answer: everything goes wrong. The art gallery is under attack from the inside, and Lu Zhen Zhen is one of them.
While Xu Mi Yu is running across the city for backup paintings, trying to save the event the hard way…Ji Feng is twiddling his thumb because he already knew. He let the crisis unfold just to trap the villains in one clean sweep . He also knew Xu Mi Yu would never approve of using Tan Ji Zhou's gallery, which is why he never told her.
The art crisis is resolved. The couple isn’t. And Ji Feng's petty jealousy ain't helping.
Xu Mi Yu asks Ji Feng for a break(-up) because Ji Feng is seriously showing too little trust.
Lu Zhen Zhen divorces Nie Yu Cheng! Because he is failing at life. And here's another bomb he detonates on the Nies: the child isn't a Nie. It's Wei Si Yuan's, the head hotel villain.
And so Nie Yu Cheng hits rock bottom – health collapsing, marriage gone, and now buried under two divorce battles: Xu Mi Yu taking half and Lu Zhen Zhen taking half of the half. Lol. Hey Xu Mi Yu ends up with the most.

Mother Nie comes begging, asking Xu Mi Yu to save the son – who broke her. Mi Yu shows up! But leaves immediately. Somehow that was enough to motivate Nie Yu Cheng who finally eats. And then she gets a call from her lawyer that she's getting her divorce settlement.
Tan Ji Zhou – does he not know she's taken? – confesses with a larger-than-life portrait of Xu Mi Yu signed My Dear Pearl. Btw, the 2nd Zhu in Zhu Zhu actually mens pearl.
Wei Si Yuan pockets a hefty bribe to bug Marcus’s room, then pushes all the risk onto Lu Zhen Zhen. She agrees, but names her price: 8 million yuan (40% of the cut) because if this blows up, she’s the one going to jail. And yet Wei Si Yuan, doing absolutely nothing, already secured his 10%. The real snake.
And the knife twists. Xu Mi Yu’s own step-sister joins in, planting the app onto Xu Mi Yu’s phone to link her to the recording device so that Xu Mi Yu takes the fall.

Ji Feng crosses the line for love, deleting the CCTV that could send Xu Mi Yu to jail, right in front of Duan Ao Xiang. Shock. Duan Ao Xiang actually remains silent for his bro. But the board votes, and Ji Feng is fired.
Xu Mi Yu walks out of interrogation still stamped as the prime suspect. Tan Ji Zhou pulls her into a hug, offering escape and protection… and it brings her right back to Nie Yu Cheng's promise of protecting her and look how that turned out. She rejects Tan Ji Zhou clearly this time. It's not that he's a bad person, but they have not met each other at the right time. Xu Mi Yu is not looking for protection.
Xu Mi Yu learns Ji Feng sacrificed himself for her. She's worried but grateful because there is someone who unconditionally trusts her. And it's not just Ji Feng. The housekeeping team and even Nie Yu Cheng step forward with evidence. Piece by piece, we have enough to corner Lu Zhen Zhen into a confession. She bribed the stepsister to frame Xu Mi Yu. She took everything she could because all she ever wanted was a home in this city. She just chose to steal one instead of building it when she had all the skills too!!
We counter-record. Xue Rui planted a recording device in Wei Si Yuan’s office, recording the affair with Lu Zhen Zhen, and Xu Mi Yu uses that to convince Wife Wei to turn on her very own traitor husband, And she does: Wife Wei records her husband confessing to everything on tape. Recording loop closes.
Wei Si Yuan is arrested. His very own aunt doesn't help him.
Lu Zhen Zhen is fired. And also arrested.
Ji Feng and Xu Mi Yu reclaim their positions. And people around them start changing too.
- Yin Xiang, once content to “lie flat,” is now chasing growth. She's studying to be another Xu Mi Yu. Girl, you need the halo.
- Xu Mi Yu's family resort is thriving under Mother Xu's wok authority. Everyone obeys her now.
- Xue Rui chooses ambition over comfort (and so he's leaving to dominate another hotel?). And he's leaving Li Qiao Qi?
- Duan Ao Xiang goes for a deserved vacation at Maldives
because clearly he was working this entire drama. But he promise to come back for his favourite food. So who's ending up with Li Qiao Qi? Hello? - Li Qiao Qi is content cooking, I assume.
And finally our CP. Ji Feng has changed because he's no longer just a workaholic. Xu Mi Yu softened him. But Xu Mi Yu has hardened into a workaholic. Drama pulled an A***** move!! She gets into a Switzerland hotel management program, chasing something bigger. He supports her, smiles… and sets one condition: one and a half years is all the time he's giving her. After that, he’s coming for her. So she can't study and she can't leave him either. Aw. They laugh and hold each other. Ji Feng sighs that he already misses her with her right in his arms.

Drama has a good momentum. A fairly fast-paced, lighter take on classic dog-blood drama: a divorced housewife takes a hotel housekeeping job to seduce the “CEO,” only to find her manager is the mistress.
Zhu Zhu is both a perfect and slightly offbeat choice. She’s incredibly easy to watch and brings a lightness to the role, but she does not fit a pushover (housewife) at all, haha.
