[Drama Info]

Crew:

• From the director of The Long Ballad and Story of Kunning Palace, Zhu Rui Bin 💫 brings us more xianxia (e.g. The Blue Whisper, Ashes of Love).

Story:

• Story is born from the same mother (Xing Ling) who wrote Ancient Love Poetry and The Last Immortal. 
• ALP is the umbrella drama. While TLI is about the son of the parents (i.e. Wang An Yu is Xu Kai's son), Moonlight Mystique is about the secondary couple (Liu Xue Yi and Luo Qiu Yun). 
• SPOILERS for ALP. 2FL (Luo Qiu Yun) dies to save 2ML (Liu Xue Yi). He had loved the FL, but when 2FL dies, he realizes he actually loves 2FL (tsktsk....). The gist of Moonlight Mystique is that he manages to secure a vestigial breath of her existence (surprise!). And so Ao Rui Peng (ML) is actually Liu Xue Yi's (2ML) character. 

Public Perception:

• Worried. Neither predecessors (ALP and TLI) performed well, and it's another migraine-inducing collaboration between Bai Lu and Kunning Director. 
• Heightened hype because it's combatting 1) Yang Zi's Flourished Peony, airing on the same day, as well as 2) her Only for Love costar Wang He Di's Guardians of the Dafeng, which isn't doing as well as expected so Bai Lu's fans can be relieved about this part.
• Also, good luck iQIYI! Hope you start strong for 2025. Anything should be better than last year, right?
