[Ending] Happy for Xue Xie Chen and Mu Xuan Ling.

Drama Overview & Review

The main love triangle. Except it's not really one. Xie Xue Chen (Zhang Bin Bin) and Mu Xuan Ling (Sun Zhen Ni) are solidly a pair. The falling-in-love happens in the first quarter, and the rest is I'll-die-for-you-and-you-die-for-me levels of devotion. [Skip »]

ML' is a scene stealer. This man just needs to be mood-ing 🫠 [Skip »]
"All has been sealed by fate." Nothing escapes what’s been decreed

Tian Ming and Hun Dun Zhu were never meant to be. It's written in their names. Tian Ming means destined, an outcome that's decided long before you begin. Hun Dun is chaos – a state of disorder, unpredictability. They almost deny each other's existence.

Tian Ming's purpose in life was to discover that... he had no purpose. 😨😨 His “fate” is to disappear so that everyone else can thrive...

Other relationships are really interesting. Pairs ordered by level of spoiler: the more you scroll, the more spoilers you see. [Skip »]
First of all, there's A Bao with anyone.

Fu Lan Sheng's parents. This middle-aged couple is so sweet and loving!

Qian Guang (Chen Mu Chi) and Feng Xiang (Wang Zi Xuan). Their ending was my highlight. In Ep38, Qian Guang is asked this, "She won’t remember you or your love – that means it will no longer exist [for her]. Are you really willing to accept that?" His answer: Love won't cease to exist. Every carefree, joy-filled day she lives is where my love has found its home. 愛沒有不存在。她歡喜無憂的每一日都是我愛的歸宿Oof. I was never emotionally invested in this couple, but this line! And then she chose to remember everything. For 6000 years only he remembered. Now for the rest of her life, she will remember, which is forever.

Fu Lan Sheng (Wu Yu Heng) and Gao Qiu Min (Zhang Ya Qin) didn’t feel special until their backstory unravelled as A Yan and Princess of Qing Yang. (Ep35) They were star-crossed, who defied the odds to stay together. Ultimately, they died together. Before parting, they made wishes for each other. He wished for her to live freely, happily, and without needing to care about anyone else. No wonder she’s so naive! Life as Gao Qiu Min was blissful!. Girl was living her best, clueless life 😭. And then she wished for him to have no financial burdens and the freedom to love whoever he wants. Awww. This came true too. 😢 However, I don't think Show did very well in bringing the love forward because their “reunion” felt mild.

Nan Xu Yue and Feng Yao. Does she love him or does she not? Her presence in his life mattered more than I thought and in a way I wouldn't quite predict.

Zhao Ming and Hun Dun Zhu. These two sacrificed everything for the world. I'd argue that Zhao Ming suffered the most even compared to Nan Xu Yue / Tian Ming. It's just too bad I didn't feel anything,

Sang Qi (Han Dongand Su Ning Xi (Zhao Xin). Half this girl's screen-time is when she's a corpse, lying here and there and everywhere.
Mu Xuan Ling and Gao Qiu Min being twins is my favourite reveal. 🫶🫶

The ending. The battle in math 🤓 Just because. [Skip »]
Legend:
HT = Hao Tian
ZM = Zhao Ming
XXC = Xie Xue Chen

HT₁ = HT₂ ⇒ neutralized
(When two identical forces clash, they cancel each other out.)

ZM₂ ≠ ZM₁ because:
ZM₂ = ZM₁ + ε(XXC)
(Present Zhao Ming carries a slight influence from Xie Xue Chen.)

Therefore:
ZM₂ > ZM₁ ⇒ ZM₂ wins
(That tiny addition gives him the edge.)

Basically, when one giant ego isn't enough, the obvious solution is to throw more ego at it. Two wrongs make a right.

Alright, that was actually the simplest part of the finale (that I made more complex). Here are a few ending explanations that I can't do better at simplifying: ending explainedshort summaryfuller summary.

[Review & Rating] By cynlynn.
Biggest Regret Watching This: I'm so disappointed by the romance. Every other relationship was more compelling than the main one. Their romance peaked instantly and died before I even realized it. Zhang Bin Bin had zero charisma in any of his lifetimes. Poor guy spent one episode spitting blood over 10x and another just rolling on the floor, and I’d be staring at him blankly.

Burdened by Its Own Epic (and Exhausting Plot. The plot is complex and genuinely unpredictable, which should be a good thing. But it was fatiguing. I feel like the show doesn’t build up the complexity, and instead dumps everything in heavy chunks. It’s a lot to absorb that all the high stakes and dramatics end up feeling weirdly bland.

Best Takeaway Though? Wang Duo. I was fully invested in him tormenting himself.

Rating: 3/5 Despite the drama fatigue and romance starvation, Wang Duo’s misery is worth it.
