This time for a valid reason. The television station had cancelled today’s variety shows to express condolences for the cruise ship that had capsized earlier this week.

Of the 456 passengers, 14 have survived, while search effort are ongoing for the 11 that are missing, making this one of China’s worst maritime disaster for the past half century. 

Similar to the Sewol Ferry disaster in Korea last year, yellow ribbons have become a symbol for hope to the missing and for sympathy to the victims of this tragedy.
