Love Game in Eastern Fantasy

As of 2026, she has her independent studio. She ended her long-time contract with Huace Film &TV (華策影視) at the end of 2024 — so 2025 marked a fresh start for her career outside that agency. *And a whole new set of problems followed...
Fact: her first breakout is going "Wo-ow!" (No sarcasm!). She was on Youth With You 2 (idol survival variety show in 2020) and got popular for her highly expressive reactions. She admitted to exaggerating them to lift the energy when contestants were exhausted. Many people saw her reactions as supportive with "variety instinct" (綜藝感). She had gone on to winning 2nd place and debuted as an idol in THE9. Members listed in order: Liu Yu Xin (singer), Yu Shu Xin as #2, Xu Jia Qi (actress), Yu Yan , Xie Ke Yin (actress), An Qi (singer), Zhao Xiao Tang (actress), Kong Xue Er (actress), and Lu Ke Ran. Impressive! 7 out of 9 are still highly recognizable.

Her drama breakout is nonetheless the mega-hit Love Between Fairy and Devil and she scored another follow-up win with Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. Both are Stellar productions. Which is not a description, but the company name, but it could be too.
Her voice sits in a very clear divide. You either accept it or you hate it. But hey, she generally does not need a VA because of how clear she enunciates. Which may suck if you hate her voice.
She really is a fuerdai 富二代 – the second generation of a wealthy family (with business in iron, steel, real estate, construction). Her very rich grandpa would accompany her on sets, looking like Chibi Maruko-chan and her grandpa. She openly enters the industry backed by family resources and a massive wardrobe of personal luxury items. If you can't hide it, might as well carry it graciously, and let it work for you.

*🍉 The Grade One Drama (2025).

When: Yu Shu Xin has been mired in workplace-bullying controversies throughout 2025. In response, she and her team have chosen no response. Her social media have been completely dormant until December 12, 2025, the premiere date of Speed and Love, the first drama aired since her hiatus.
Where: On a variety show, Grade One: Graduation Season 一年級·畢業季. This was a 2016 variety show that got re-examined in 2025.
What 1: The allegations started with Zhang Hao Yue (the ex-gf from Fake It Till You Make It). She reflected on that period, stating that Yu Shu Xin's behaviour, exclusions, and mockery during the show left her with long term mental health struggles and depression.
What 2 (less damaging to YSX): It's followed by Zhao Zhi Wei. He was portrayed as the boy Yu Shu Xin was in pursuit of in the show and then he was vilified by her fans as the bad guy who rejected Yu Shu Xin. He says this reputation unfairly crippled his professional reputation and casting opportunities.
Her downfall cannot be untangled from Zhao Lu Si's fandom. Firstly, there is no verified personal conflict between the actresses. It is their fandoms that are locked in a cycle of comparison and rivalry.

There is no dirt to dig up if there wasn't any to begin with, and Yu Shu Xin did have old material that, once re-examined, fuelled criticism. At the same time, the speed and scale with which old clips, stories, and allegations resurfaced became intertwined with the rivalry between the two fandoms. (And to speak up for the fandoms, some might not even be genuinely Zhao Lu Si's fans. They could be malicious accounts looking to trigger both sides or people simply enjoying the chaos.)
Again, none of this is to suggest Zhao Lu Si herself had anything to do with Yu Shu Xin's controversy. But the timing also made the comparisons especially sensitive. Zhao Lu Si had become closely associated with speaking openly about unfair treatment in the workplace, while Yu Shu Xin was facing those allegations. This made it even easier to pit the two actresses against each other.
