Trivia
- As of 2026, she’s managed by …it’s complicated*
- She first rose to fame through SNH48, officially debuting in 2013. She is the most successful Chinese idol to transition into mainstream Cdrama fame.
- Associated with “🍊 / tangerine” because 橘 (ju/tangerine) sounds like her Ju 鞠
- She’s synonymous with dangly accessories and the hyper-recognizable “Ju Jing Yi makeup.” Whether you love it or hate it, it’s iconic – and undeniably influential.
- Paparazzi and gossip accounts hate her. For someone at her level of visibility, she has maintained a remarkably low-scandal public image for years.
*Here’s where it’s complicated. The “Divorce Battle”: Ju Jing Yi vs. Siba / Star48 (June 18, 2024 – now)
- Since mid-2024, Ju Jing Yi has been locked in a very public and very bitter contract dispute with her former agency, Siba / Star48.
- On Ju Jing Yi’s side: her contract, signed in 2013, expired on June 18, 2024 (her 30th birthday), and she then established her own independent studio.
- On Siba’s side, they claim a 2018 supplementary agreement extended her contract all the way to August 2033.
- Ju Jing Yi’s team says she never signed that 2018 extension and has accused Siba of forging her signature.
- Reports circulating in Chinese media say the court commissioned handwriting analysis more than once, but the result was reportedly “unable to determine” whether the signature was genuinely hers. That inconclusive result is a huge reason the case has dragged on: not enough to prove it’s real, not enough to prove it’s fake, and just enough to keep everyone stuck in legal limbo.
And now we have the Tax Evasion Allegation (March 30–31, 2026).
- On March 30, 2026, right around the time Veil of Shadows – her first drama since 2024 – confirmed its April 1st premiere, Siba escalated the fight by releasing a document claiming they had submitted evidence accusing her of tax evasion, (claiming she declared 11 million RMB while allegedly earning 50+ million RMB, underreporting ~88%)
- Ju Jing Yi’s studio immediately denied it, saying she had already cooperated with tax checks, and accused Siba of spreading false information and trying to manipulate public opinion.
- By the evening of March 31, 2026, Shanghai tax authorities publicly stated they had already reviewed similar reports multiple times since September 2025 and found no tax issues. They also said this latest complaint was a repeat report with no new valid evidence, so it was not further pursued.
Current status (March 31)
- No tax evasion
- "Divorce battle" still ongoing.
- Star48 / Siba still has Xu Jia Qi and Sun Zhen Ni.
