[Drama Info
  • Zheng He Hui Zi commented this about her acting being compared to Ju Jing Yi: "Thank you very much for your tolerance and praise. I am very happy to play a role that is quite special in both appearance and identity. But I sincerely hope that everyone will not make such comparisons. It may be a bit childish of me to say such things after filming for several years, but I still want to say it: please don’t make an opposition between actresses and deliberately put down one and praise the other. It is very boring and meaningless. I don’t feel happy at all to be praised like this. I also don’t want to see anyone say that I bought these rs. I am good. Xiao Ju (Ju Jing Yi) is good. Thank you for paying attention to our In Blossom. Thank you."

The good: a pleasure for the eyeballs (hello Liu Xue Yi!). The not-good: everything else.

I’m not joining in on the Ju Jing Yi and Zheng He Hui Zi acting comparison. (What is there to even compare, lol).

What failed this mystery-romance is the mystery and the romance. Having Zheng He Hui Zi as the FL won’t change anything. Ever since Yang Cai Wei changed actresses, the plot loses shape and form. Finishing was a struggle.

Cases are rudimentary, forgettable, and are solved mostly by realizing “Oh, we’ve been duped by the – only – witness/victim”. For the main case, there is nothing to deduce, no crumbs to pick up. ML was set up unconvincingly as the suspect. Apparently, this script took 10 years to write. If that's true, that's tragic.

Romance barely budges, and when I think it budges, Show makes FL hesitant/resistant until they exhaust all possible obstacles. By then the romance is no longer interesting, just overdue and underpaid.

Ju Jing Yi is losing her charm for me. (I swear I can hear a collective “yay, finally”) She’s fun in cute bubbly romances, but she’s not choosing these dramas anymore! She’s still in romances, just not very romantic romances. What am I supposed to stare at then? Her acting? D:

Liu Xue Yi and Zheng He Hui Zi definitely bloomed in their roles. (Fortunately) ZHHZ got a boost along with her variety show, which showed her goofy and down-to-earth personality or else I’m afraid she’d only be used as Ju Jing Yi’s acting foil and then forgotten again. You would think it’s terrible for Ju Jing Yi. It’s not. She proves once again that she can evoke a strong spectrum of feelings from everyone.
