[Ep1] Luo Ying Zi wakes up in hell. Her married life is all a lie. She is miserably scammed by her husband. He cheated, emptied her accounts, and fled. Her wretched in-laws criticize her for deserving it all. At least the dick left her the house, and at least Luo Ying Zi has a shifu/teacher to whip her in shape. 

Mei Da Liang: As long as you don’t fall, no one can push you down. I like this actress. Just standing, she can look evil, but when an evil looking woman like this plays a stubborn but kind lady, it’s even better. 

Chen Shuo did a hit and run on Luo Ying Zi?! He isn't a ML if he's not crashed into. Now he might just be the professional scammer. xD 

[Ep2] The rotten in-laws aided and abetted their sordid son. Fortunately, Luo Ying Zi gained the sympathy of the housekeeper Zhang Shi Lan (Lan Lan) who steals the real-estate certificate (under LYZ's name) from the in-laws. 

[Ep3] Luo Ying Zi haggles a case from her miserly supervisor Han Zhi Tong. Only she believes her defendant, Wang Da Fu, is innocent. She has to prove there is reasonable doubt in the crown's case. The prosecutor happens to be Chen Shuo. 

Emptying the bank accounts wasn't enough, now loansharks are after Luo Ying Zi! She begs Qiu Hua, her shijie, to help her with the case while she deals with her debts. Qiu Hua is pretty smart to negotiate a case out of Luo Ying Zi.

[Ep4] Luo Ying Zi negotiates with loansharks (Zhou Hou Ze; Boss Zhou). Even the thug is asking if her husband is human. Luo Ying Zi replies, "He isn't human, but I need to be human (= live, move on)."  

I Spy Wang Yang. He's blocking Luo Ying Zi's path again. I love how they spar with words. So engaging. 

[Ep5] Boss Zhou purchases Luo Ying Zi's (in-laws) house! I love how she struck the three deals with this thug, haha. The fact that she even thought of cash transactions on the spot, and then using his resources to investigate her husband, brilliant. Even the big guy was shaken at how many conditions she had. (Just three!) He's actually so considerate that...I kinda really like the thug? But obv I love her more for being so smart at protecting herself (e.g. carrying a knife just in case and lying about where she's going to stash her cash). Now if only she was smarter pre-divorce....and then we wouldn't get a drama. Got it. 

Lawyer Han steals Luo Ying Zi's credit for the case! I'm glad Qiu Hua kept phoning LYZ. If QH betrayed her, I was going to chuck this drama. 

I Spy Wang Yang. This is the first time Chen Shuo is defeated by Lawyer Han, and he knows Luo Ying Zi did all the work. 

[Ep6] Mei Da Liang's advice to Luo Ying Zi: "Remember that sometimes you may be able to handle your enemies, but not your partners." Uh oh. Who is this a foreshadow for? 

Mother-in-law lifted and ejected, hahahaha.

Luo Ying Zi's messy life is only getting messier (e.g. her husband doesn't just owe one loanshark.......), but she's there to save Qiu Hua from Lawyer Han's filthy hands. Aw.

I Spy Wang Yang. Chen Shuo phones Luo Ying Zhi and complains when he learns she still hasn't saved his number. He's determined to solve the murder (the case that he lost) and wants her to contact her (ex-)defendant for clues. 

[Ep7] Luo Ying Zi hires the boss to be her lawyer! She's Fang Li Hong, the pinnacle of their firm. Does she accept the case because as she said out of admiration for Luo Ying Zi or because she's giving her 200K RMB? Hiring FLH is brilliant. It's a win even if it's a loss. FLH is her best protection in keeping her job. Even if the case is lost, LYZ can still be a lawyer, be independent and earn her own share to fend for herself. 

Fang Li Hong brings in Xia Shu to the divorce case. To the firm, she's firstly a fuerdai piggybank, and then a lawyer. Rich with all the time in the world. Sounds like her Only for Love character, lol. I actually like Xia Shu. Our girls find her intolerable sometimes, but I think she's so harmless (and so helpful). 

Lawyer Tao Zheng warns Fang Li Hong that Luo Ying Zi has potential as a great lawyer, but also as a great(er) rival. 

Lawyer Han says he loves Qiu Hua. Don't disgust me, please. 

[Ep8] I Spy Wang Yang. Chen Shuo is forced to treat Luo Ying Zi. I think he likes it, looool. And omg, she orders birds' nests hahaha. What's different about her as a FL is that she doesn't come from a poor background. She knows how to live a rich life.  

Luo Ying Zi's father lets the in-laws live in their house. OMFG. Then he says his daughter, our FL, has her faults for this divorce too. On her behalf, he'll take care of her in-laws. OMG. OMG. OMG. Dad. You have a mouth. Doesn't mean you have to speak. 

Lawyer Han, who has a butthole for a mouth because I'm sure that's poop and not words, entices the loansharks to deface the firm to get Luo Ying Zi fired. 

[Ep9] Don't let the title fool you: "Bank Manager" Wang is just another thug, but certified. He orders his employee to accuse Luo Ying Zi of signing the home equity loan with her husband, but then Qiu Hua arrives from nowhere, confusing the employee on who is the real Luo Ying Zi. 

I Spy Wang Yang. Chen Shuo's car blocks Luo Ying Zi's path again. He helps her drive out. And drives her out of her condo, making her homeless. He didn't do it on purpose. He does try to fix things with his client (Bank Manager Wang), but to no avail. 

[Ep10] Mei Da Liang renamed herself after her husband. They were partners of their law firm (along with Fang Li Hong), but they were sabotaged. Her husband died at court. She lost her license. She still doesn't know how it all happened. Fang Li Hong....??? 

Fang Li Hong becomes wary of Luo Ying Zi when she said, "Problems that can be solved with money aren't a problem." Is Luo Ying Zi really going to be her rival in the future? 

Boss Zhou makes a move on Luo Ying Zi! Omona! She hollers her way out of it, lol. Phew. But then Lan Lan seduces her way in. Awwww. I like this actress (Lu Yan Qi). I wanted a rootable role for her. 

It was Qiu Hua who notified the bank that the heinous husband fled. It wasn't meant to sabotage Liu Ying Zi but to ensure the loansharks would go easy on her. Even Fang Li Hong didn't think about this. Go Qiu Hua!   

[Ep11] Debt free! Selfie with loanshark time ~ Cheese! She paid it all off, and is still better off than the average person. 

Father Luo enlists his students to carry out Mother-in-law. I truly look forward to a third time.

[Ep12] Lawyer Han refuses to promote more than one lawyer (actually, he wanted to promote 0 because if they graduate from him, who's this bloodsucker going to mooch off of). But Luo Ying Zi is slyer than him. Love that! She even protects Qiu Hua from his sexual harassment.  

[Ep13] Lawyer Han breaks his back – figuratively, I wish it was literal too –  to promote all three girls (Luo Ying Zhi, Qiu Hua, and Xia Shu). I'm disappointed he hasn't popped from the pressure at the top (Fang Li Hong) and the thorns at his side (our girls), lol. He even has to hand Xia Shu his cases for free all for her to pass, and walk her through the paperwork, hahaha.  

I Spy Wang Yang. Luo Ying Zi mooches another expensive meal from Chen Shuo. He even offers a position at his firm. He wants to work with her ~ 

[Ep14] Luo Ying Zi gets a scandalous divorce case ($$$). Other than her own. The client is a husband who's scammed of his money by his wife (who used to be his mistress). Meanwhile Lan Lan is officially Boss Zhou's mistress. She wants him to divorce his wife. Marriages are an endangered species... 

[Ep15] Lawyer Han snatches the divorce case! But lazy loser loses it because of his cheap greed. Qiu Hua is so clutch, though, and snatches the client back. 

[Ep16] The divorce case ultimately falls through. Lawyer Han, this crybully, will represent the wife, which directly interferes with our ladies due to conflict of interest. Despicable! He even takes the wife's case for FREE. Then he threatens Fang Li Hong to take away her extra vote, incapacitating her from enforcing BASIC fairness in the law firm.  

[Ep17] I Spy Wang Yang. Luo Ying Zi introduces the husband client to Chen Shuo. She also renames him Chen Wu Liang (無量 = Immoral). He's the perfect lawyer: despicably wicked, more than Lawyer Han. That's literally how she introduces him to the client, hahaha. Chen Shuo actually takes a liking to the name. He agrees to Luo Ying Zi's bargain for 20% fee, except he's sly! He's really sly!! He split up the cases, and her 20% is for the cheaper one. 

[Ep18] Guo Yu is a sexual assault victim (from her workplace). Qiu Hua can't do the counselling. It's too close to home. The reality for sexual assault victims to get their justice is sad. You have girls convincing girls to stop before they even start. Qiu Hua can only watch Guo Yu suffer silently just like herself. Why did she study law. To be oppressed? The next day Qiu Hua fights for herself! She has been recording Lawyer Han. With hard evidence against him, she rightfully takes back the case she worked on, and gets an office for herself and Luo Ying Zi. He can't utter a word. 

Guo Yu took an elevator, and still tripped down the stairs and broke her leg. If that's weird, that's because she deliberately fell so that she didn't have to go on a trip with her predator boss (Pervert Yang). I have to break a leg to not be assaulted?!?! Is that right? 

[Ep19] CEO Tian (CEO Yang's wife) fires Guo Yu. She told her not to wear shorts or skirts. If she didn't, her husband wouldn't touch her. WHAT! I thought she was going to be the awesome wife who ousts her husband, but she's concealing his crime!! Except why would she be recording everything? 

Qiu Hua never had friends. Luo Ying Zi is her first one. Luo Ying Zi swears whoever bullies Qiu Hua, she'll bully him back = Lawyer Han. Awww.

I Spy Wang Yang. He's Pervert Yang's lawyer. OF COURSE. 

[Ep20] I Spy Wang Yang. Even Chen Shuo is revolted by his client, Pervert Yang. His only brain is down there. The guy can't even hold a conversation with a girl without feeling erect. 

Chen Shuo changes Luo Ying Zi's name to Luo Zheng Yi (正義 = Justice). He invites Luo Zheng Yi to watch how he, Chen Wu Liang, will avenge her against Lawyer Han (during CEO Wei's divorce trial). He's paying for everything (she even wanted to paid by the hour, looool). The whole trip starting from the plane is satisfying. She gets business, he gets economy; she gets a suite room at a five star hotel, he gets a motel; she gets a driver with courier service, he flags down his own cab.

[Ep21] I Spy Wang Yang. It's "Dog bite dog" time! Chen Shuo, our top dog, beats Lawyer Han. Luo Ying Zi was his aide. What tacit understanding they have ~ 

Guo Yu is determined to sue her boss for sexual assault. Fang Li Hong is against the girls taking the case. They're bound to lose, but she changes her decision because Mei Da Liang supported the girls. Did you all notice how Fang Li Hong was annoyed that MDL was at the firm, but in front of her, she's all smiles?

[Ep22] Guo Yu is determined to sue Pervert Yang. By representing her, however, our girls will lose their patent ($$$$) case because of concurrent conflict of interest. Our girls aren't receiving anything for the sexual assault case either. They'll do all the work, and not even the credit will go to them. Justice is expensive. 

I Spy Wang Yang. Chen Shuo is Chen Wu Liang!! He's representing Pervert Yang. He's going to manipulate the media to support the Pervert when our girls want privacy to protect the victims because if they lose, their client will be accused of failing to rip off from a rich man. Qiu Hua's speech was powerful T_T. Luo Ying Zi is thinking of the case, but Qiu Hua is thinking of Guo Yu, putting herself in her shoes. Also, I think Chen Shuo is playing on his phone to decrease/distract his guilt. He doesn't want to represent Pervert Yang.

[Ep23] Guo Yu is bullied by the media, bullied by her roommates, and bullied by reporters. They all blame her: she doesn't even look pretty, why would she be assaulted, she's biting the hands who fed her, etc. The victims who promised to testify revoke their testimony. Only one is left. However, Xia Shu messed up. Xia Shu! Girl, I like you. Please don't be stupid! She paid for the victim's rent. This is considered a bribe. Their last testimony is annulled. (It was Chen Shuo who tipped our girls). 

I Spy Wang Yang. This is the most romantic part of the entire drama. Chen Shuo goes out of his way to drive home a drunk Luo Ying Zi. He's having so much fun raising her drooping head with his accelerator.  

[Ep24] Qiu Hua throws paper at Lawyer Han's face, refusing to work for him again. Sweetie. Paper goes in the recycling bin, not the trashface. 

Everyone is defeated, except our victim, Guo Yu. She wants to fight to the bitter end. She's truly Fearless. Tough girl. Then a new victim is willing to testify: Wang Lin Lin. She was r*ped. D: Then she became clinically depressed. She told her husband the truth, and then he divorced her. This is how she became dependent on drugs. She only appeared now because she was detained for illegal drug use. 

Trial begins. Chen Shuo argues the lewd texts from Pervert Yang should be interpreted as fatherly. Chen Shuo, I hate it when you're the enemy. 

[Ep25] The case is lost. Chen Shuo brings up the r*pe, arguing that it was mutual. Then he shatters the victim's credibility (character and evidence). Lawyer Han was so smug!! D: Ultimately, it was a bad call for Luo Ying Zi to summon Xia Lin Lin to stand. The case's emphasis shifted to Xia Lin Lin, who may be more pitiful, but so flawed, instead of their client Guo Yu. 

Qiu Hua is clutch again! She kept in contact with Pervert Yang's wife, CEO Tian. She wants a divorce, and she's going to bankrupt Pervert Yang. YESS! Qiu Hua is the silent dog who's lethal when she bites. 

[Ep26] Luo Ying Zi is on her moral high horse and rejects the divorce case. Pervert Yang's bankruptcy isn't the justice the girls deserve. I thought it was an awesome punishment, but I guess I'm not righteous enough... Also aren't they receiving a ton of money for doing nothing?! CEO Tian has all the evidence. The girls just have to present them to Pervert Yang....? 

Men are trash. I'm sorry, but tell me how to think otherwise: Xia Lin Lin's husband always had a surveillance clip to prove that she was r*ped. The silent video, not even a minute long, painted the horrifying truth, all of it. T__T. He used it to extort Pervert Yang. He says marrying a defiled wife is like eating a fly. WTF?!?! After divorcing her, he learned that she was on drugs, so he cut off all contact from her. Luo Ying Zi's ex-husband is looking like a saint.....

CEO Tian's divorce isn't going as planned. Her threat, which is her husband's molesting evidence, is worthless compared to the surveillance clip. (Btw, I like CEO's Tian's line: "Before marrying you, I only wanted you. After marrying you, I wanted everything but you." )

[Ep27] Fang Li Hong sides with justice over money. I'm surprised. She rejects CEO Tian and refuses to destroy the evidence. I wonder what happened to her divorce then. 

Pervert Yang is arrested! Justice is served to Guo Yu (and the brave new victims) and Xia Lin Lin. Oh, Xia Lin Lin T_T. 

There's one last sexual harassment case: Qiu Hua's. Lawyer Han hilariously apologizes. Show, I'll give it to ya for making this cheap pervert funny.

[Ep28] Luo Ying Zi's husband's mistress (Wen Li) is a serial seducer. Sun Hua Ding is another victim. He's imprisoned because of her, and this idiot still loves her. Wen Li is smart at finding idiots to seduce. I'll give her that. She beguiled two men simultaneously, and apparently impregnated by both at the same time, loooool.  

The other mistress, Lan Lan returns. She cries that it's unfair Boss Zhou's wife assaulted her.... 

I Spy Wang Yang, and so does Lan Lan. Chen Shuo is Lan Lan's next target! 

[Ep29] Luo Ying Zi introduces Lan Lan to work for Chen Shuo. She's a fashion terrorist. And history has repeated itself. Luo Ying Zi introduces another girl to the MLs of her life, hahaha. But Chen Shuo doesn't even bother looking at Lan Lan. 

Qiu Hua has a boyfriend: Zhang Quan Quan, a country bumpkin who's sweet and caring. Luo Ying Zi keeps saying Qiu Hua deserves better though. 

New case: Ma Li Li. She asks our girls, "Do you two believe in love?" LOL. No. They actually don't. Hahahaha! She's hiring them to defend her ex-husband, a murder suspect.

[Ep30] Lawyer Han doesn't learn! The money-grubber wants a piece of Ma Li Li's case, but dude was going to swallow her (wallet) whole. Of course she's running away and sticking with our girls. Ma Li Li, however, is a little suspicious. She keeps asking Luo Ying Zi (and not Qiu Hua....) to give her detained ex-husband a transfer of property agreement to sign... I love how Luo Ying Zi protected herself. 

[Ep31] The mother-in-law provokes Mother Luo and now she's in a coma. DESTROY THEM. HANG THEM. BURN THEM.

[Ep32] Well now Luo Ying Zi is provoked. Her husband may be a cheater, but she had faith in his character. She has no more tolerance left. She reports him to the police. He will go to jail. She also teams up with Sun Hua Dong's wife (Xiao Yan) to take down Wen Li. 

[Ep33] Newbies cannot be too good. When our girls successfully appeal Ma Li Li's case, the partners of the firm are anxious and/or green with envy, and so they shove Xia Shu (a partner as well) into the case (to claim it as theirs?). Luo Ying Zi was annoyed with Xia Shu's basic questions and asked her if she had weaned off her pacifier yet. That was rude, and I was questioning why Xia Shu is even putting up with that? She's smart (book smart), rich and beautiful. 

Wen Li's (mistress) joke: 

Q: Do you know why vampires don't eat spicy (不辣的 bu la de)? 

A: Because they only drink "bu-la-de" ("Blood" with a Chinese accent) 

The interesting (well I think it's interesting) part is she's the vampire sucking the blood out of the men.

[Ep34] Luo Ying Zi is arrested! Bank Manager Wang (the real thug) accused her of fraud. Chen Shuo finds the surveillance clip, but he's the manager's lawyer. 

[Ep35] Xia Shu, ah Xia Shu. She's set up by Ma Li Li who recorded her accepting the document (transfer of ownership). This is bad news. Then Xia Shu is set up by Chen Shuo who recorded her stealing a surveillance clip from his laptop. This is good news. Chen Shuo did that on purpose to free Luo Ying Zi. The Bank Manager is arrested. The in-laws are charged for false testimony. The husband is officially a fugitive from justice. 

The cafe they're at is 不負 (To Live Up To). 

I Spy Wang Yang. Chen Shuo bought flowers for Luo Ying Zi! But she's still misunderstanding that he's the mastermind of her arrest. (Qiu Hua resolves that misunderstanding.) 

Lan Lan in lace seduces Chen Shuo who's looking so bored. It's so embarrassing. I want to hide for you, Lan Lan. 

[Ep36] The in-laws get down on their knees to beg for Luo Ying Zi's leniency. You two think too highly of your arthritic knees. When she refuses them, the mother-in-law cries, "Luo Ying Zi! I'm already begging you, and you still have to harm my son!" Hilarious. 

The girls are fired from the murder case by their client (thanks to Xia Shu). However, it was Ma Li Li's intention from the beginning anyway. She never wanted to help her ex-husband. "Love". That's bs. xD She wants him to be imprisoned for life while manipulating him into thinking she cares so that she can inherit all his property. Women are scary! 

Wen Li is back. Her next prey is CEO Ding. Uh wait, It's CEO Ding's son. Let's call him Ding Little. My take home message from this drama: Greed knows no bounds. She's filthy rich already! And she wants more. Or is seduction&scamming a sport she likes challenging?

[Ep37] Xia Shu is in trouble when Ma Li Li threatens her to refund 300K. How stingy is she?! 4 properties isn't enough that she cares about 300k??? 

[Ep38] Luo Ying Zi and Qiu Hua have Xia Shu's back (only because if she's affected, so will they, and it took a lot of convincing from Luo Ying Zi to get Qiu Hua to cooperate). As Qiu Hua said it before "I'm not discriminating against [Xia Shu]. It is my biological reaction to dislike her." 

Chen Shuo and Luo Ying Zi are finally an official team with a common enemy: Wen Li. Meanwhile Fang Li Hong ain't happy that Luo Ying Zi referred the 6M RMB case to Chen Shuo instead of their firm, lol. 

I Spy Wang Yang spying on Wen Li seducing Ding Little. Chen Shuo snickers. xD Me too. Something this lame is actually working.

By the way, Wen Li's real name is Wen Rong. 

Nevermind. Her real real name is Wen Xin. 

But I will stick with Wen Li. 

Chen Shuo gets Wen Li to repay 3M RMB within 5 days. This amount is nothing when Little Ding is worth 900M. What are these numbers even. Meanwhile our girls have unveiled Wen Li / Wen Rong / Wen Xin's past. Just what kind of upbringing did she have to turn her into a blood sucking vampire?

[Ep39] I Spy Wang Yang. Luo Ying Zi calls Chen Shuo greasy, and I have to agree. Slightly. He's inserting pick up lines whenever he can (e.g. "For you, I'm willing to give up [money]", "No one (Luo Ying Zi) can escape from my grasp" *Wink, wink. Hint hint*)

Qiu Hua tells Luo Ying Zi not to miss out on Chen Shuo. He's a good guy. I had wondered if Qiu Hua liked him (in that ep he drove her home in the rain). And I still wonder about that. Even Dad Luo thinks Luo Ying Zi likes Chen Shuo. Perhaps the real reason she's avoiding him is because she's insecure about love. 

Ding Big, Ding Little's Dad, agrees to help our team catch Wen Li. (As I understand it, she can be sentenced, but our lawyers want the money back too, and so they have to know which account she's using to hide her stash). 

[Ep40] Luo Ying Zi gets her mother-in-law to threaten the mistress (Wen Li). I love it when the villains destroy each other, but it wasn't as exhilarating as I thought it would be.  

It took 40 episodes for the wife (ex) and mistress (also ex) to meet! And they talk about age. They really shouldn't. LOL. Luo Ying Zi, who's clearly 28, finds Wen Li (31) ridiculous for calling her jie. Wen Li actress is actually 31. Ri Yi Zha is not 28. She's 37, but in the entire show, she's not even trying to act young. She looks her age and feels her age. Show didn't have to include age..... 

Wen Li is arrested. Her smirk gives me a feeling she can make a comeback in S2. And did I fall asleep or did we not get her background info?

Luo Ying Zi and Chen Shuo would be invincible if they teamed up. 

Luo Ying Zi thanks Fang Li Hong for being there for her. Luo Ying Zi, it was all you. I love Fang Li Hong's presence, however. Just watching this lady cross her arms is interesting. 

MOM LUO DIES. T____T. This timing is poignant. She was still there fighting with her daughter to the end. 

Two months later. 

Luo Ying Zi's condo is auctioned. It's too funny. Boss Zhou (HIII!) and Chen Shuo are battling for it!! LMAO. Then Lan Lan joins the bidding. She seduced a new guy, an uglier guy. Chen Shuo wins the condo, but regrets when it's so expensive, hahaha. So real. 

Luo Ming (the cheater husband; did I seriously type his name for the first time just now). He blames her for everything. Their marriage failed because of her. Luo Ying Zi had waited for him at the airport to convince him to surrender to the police, that way he'll get a leniency. Well, he has earned her slaps. Luo Ying Zi is consistent. She's the dog that barks, but doesn't bite until she's pushed beyond her limit. 

S1 Cliffhanger: Xia Shu!!! Her father is arrested. Fang Li Hong drops her from their firm. Lawyer Tao (a decent guy, really) is hollering at her. Xia Shu's servant boyfriend ran away with her new car (the heck, lol).

Remarks

[A Highlight] Mother-in-law lifted and ejected twice. 

[Ending] Ending for S1 is safe! Major plot has its closure. Not everything is explained (e.g. Ma Da Liang's case). There is a cliffhanger that's like a new chapter (involving a supporting character). Romance is optimistic, let's just say.  

[Review & Rating] This is addictive because it’s bordering dog-blooded, but it’s dog-blooded in a satisfying way.  Show really hammers down on the bloodsucking monsters. The comeuppance comes in unexpected ways too.

Our FL, Luo Ying Zi is bold. Her moves are daring and calculated. She's also clearly not 28yo, but her age is inconsequential to the rest of the show anyway. Qiu Hua is calm, and her moves are careful, and even more calculated than Luo Ying Zi's. I was worried they were going to betray each other. But it's not like that! 

I really like how show describes our FLs: Luo Ying Zi is the bold barking dog who doesn't actually bite. Qiu Hua (2FL) is the introverted silent dog, but lethal when she bites. It's so accurate. I am also relieved these two never betray each other. They're the best team. Both are intelligent. Neither are 28yo are whatever age Show claims they are, but that's inconsequential. 

There are romantic undertones. Wang Yang plays a sly lawyer, but deep (deep, deep, deep) down, he's righteous, which sounds like his every other character. Little screen time, but big presence. He's ML, but in third spot behind our two FLs. There are actually a lot of women in powerful positions, some good, some bad, some I have no idea. 

Once the story gets going, every episode has a highlight, a natural progression with major plot developments. This is why ratings keep climbing. It surpassed 2.6 on CCTV8, second Knockout for 2023. (Exactly how impressive this is as a whole, I have to wait until tables are updated for comparison, lol.) It's also the rare cable drama in the bunch that isn't a police show or a homage to the country. The iQIYI Heat Index reached 9000. Among the competition in November (where online platforms are usually dominated by "traffic" actors and their fans), this is a win. 

Last but not least, my love for the actors&characters: 

• Qiu Hua is one of the best characters, but if she's the main character, I don't think the plot would be exciting, and drama would be more of a downer. She's my pillar though. Always trust her to be clutch. 
• Lawyer Han is the funniest dirty old man. LOL. 
• Lan Lan is the fashion terrorist, the cheap copy of Wen Li. 
• Fang Li Hong is ambiguous. She keeps me on my toes. Will she choose justice or money? I never know. The way this actress acts, it's like she's not acting at all. Very natural. Crossing her arms is her signature move. 
• Luo Ying Zi. Her expressions are fun. Her voice is commanding. I want to listen to her talk, talk, talk. 
• Chen Shuo. Even if Wang Yang always plays these roles, Chen Shuo in particular is so compatible with Wang Yang. He's excellently written where he isn't dumbed down because of romance, or overly cocky for dramatic effect. There's much room for Wang Yang to ad-lib.
