[First Impression (Ep1-)] Zany. The women >>> the men.
[Actors/Actresses] Just look at the cast... how could I resist?! Ren Hao and Gu Zi Cheng (Love at Night's didi with that eyelid mole) are both a bit of deadweight... and I think it may be intentional here? 🤷♀️
[OST] Cannot stand the opening song, which is an unpleasant mix of traditional instrumental music with synthesized sounds and the lyrics.... *plugs ears*
Hilarious? Yes. Good till the last drop? Not exactly…
It starts out well as we’re introduced to Du Ru Yu (hot-tempered Mom) and her four very different and single daughters, Jin Rong (eldest and most ambitious), Pei Lan (best homemaker of the bunch and very passive), Ban Xia (bookworm, know-it-all, and justice warrior), and Ke Ling (tomboyish and fierce warrior). Then they start throwing the male counterparts at us, with my favorite being Guo Zhen Sheng, the family friend/doctor who has the biggest crush on Du Ru Yu. My favorite duo has to be Shi Zi and his newly minted servant, Li Teng Yun. Where there's a fire, these two are not too far away from it.
Up through Ep18, this series is truly enjoyable and has you smiling and laughing out loud. Once it gets bogged down with “serious” romance issues, everything else goes down the drain. It becomes utterly boring, so skip the last 6 eps if you’re in it for the laughs.
