[Ep1] A prophecy reads that the birth of an emotionless prince will bring catastrophe to the world. The only solution is to kill him. Twenty three years later.  Mo Qing Chen is this prince. Somehow he has managed to stay alive while keeping his condition a secret. He has the Xuan Ji disease from Love and Redemption. He can eat but he can't taste. He can smell but he can't differentiate scent. He cannot feel pain, cold, or warmth. And then he meets Lin Chi! Through her, Mo Qing Chen can smell. Filled with desire to sense and feel, Mo Qing Chen wants her. And so he gets her. Lin Chi's master sold her for a bag of rock money. At least our prince has the manners to ask her guardian for permission. Or bribe. Lol

Lin Chi comes from a family of thieves and fraudsters but it seems they only steal from the rich. Well, there wouldn't be much to steal from the poor. Lin Chi half whines and half cries to her master to save her from Mo Qing Chen. She's like "He keeps touching me." LOL. Master is elated, Imagine the wealth you can inherit if you marry him! (At the very least, she has a shijieQiu Wan, who cares about her freedom and is working in the background to save her. Later in the episode, Qiu Wan makes Du Ruo fetch Lin Chi. However, Du Ruo, who has a Prosecutor Badge kinda thing, cannot contend to Mo Qing Chen who has the better badge: Special Pardon To Anything, lol)
Mo Qing Chen serves Lin Chi tea. For some reason he can taste what she's drinking. Then he's curious about the cold and so they stand out in the snow hand in hand. I like how the Show prepared for the snow scene. Prior when Master and Lin Chi were talking, it was starting to snow in the background. Mo Qing Chen experiences the coldness through Lin Chi. Poor girl is dressed so thinly while the guy who can't feel the cold is in a fur coat. He finally notices her paleness from the frigid weather and shares his fur coat. Ah, no wonder he has the fur coat. Got it. Then he pulls her to his chest and tells her "When you feel cold, I feel cold too." Lol. Dude, just cause you don't have feelings, you can't mess with the girl's feelings like that.
Then at night Mo Qing Chen is curious about warmth. He enters Lin Chi's dorm, strips a bit, and sleeps with her. Trying to resist him, Lin Chi accidentally rips out a lock of his hair. Freaking out, she hides his hair under her pillow, hoping he didn't notice. He really didn't. This man feels no pain. He gets his way with one simple sentence: Do you want your arms broken again? Lin Chi makes a Big Eye Roll and then the next millisecond her eyelids close. Lol, haha. As smoothly (I think she's trying to be smooth, lol), Lin Chi turns around, facing away from him. Mo Qing Chen adjusts his hands so that he can continue holding her as they sleep (because it is through touching her that he can feel).

Lin Chi whimpers: So...we're sleeping?
Mo Qing Chen pushes her head away. Translate: Yes.

The next day, Lin Chi figures it out. Mo Qing Chen is using her body for his sensory perception.

Lin Chi: You can't feel anything, am I right?

[Ep2] Now that Lin Chi knows Mo Qing Chen needs her, she gives him her condition: he can't break her limbs or hurt a hair on her. He easily agrees. He has a condition too: she has to be at his side at his demand. Lin Chi disagrees. That's Mo Qing Chen's condition for not breaking her limbs, ha. Okay, at his side it is. Whether he's reading or eating, Lin Chi is next to him, holding his hand. If he has his hand out, it's expected for her to hold it. She's like a pet. I'm liking the hand holding moments all because of Lin Chi's expressions. She's so unimpressed

Lin Chi falls asleep while he's reading and uses his hand as her pillow. Curiously, he holds his finger under her nose, (not picking it, he's just) feeling her breath. Then he touches her lips. In her sleep, she bites down on his thumb. She wakes up and apologizes, but then wonders why she would be biting him? Could he be molesting her again? Mo Qing Chen doesn't know why he did it either. Not molesting. Unless lip-touching is molesting. Then yes, it is molesting.

Lin Chi adds a clause to their contract: to repay her debts. Okay. He didn't even ask for the amount because it doesn't matter. CEO, is that you? Lin Chi is like Muahahaha, this idiot. I'm going to escape now~ But it's a loan. If she can't pay him back, she'll have to pay with her body.
Lin Chi: I'm going to kill you!
Mo Qing Chen: Not if I freeze you.
Although this guy frustrates her to no end, Lin Chi eventually pities Mo Qing Chen. If she can't feel anything like him, she'd be weirder than him. Still, that doesn't mean he can just sleep with her whenever he wants! She adds this clause to their contract to stop him from entering her bed. Really, Lin Chi should have learned by now when dealing with this guy. Mo Qing Chen adds her clause per her words. "They cannot sleep together in her room." This also means she can't sleep in her room. This also means they can sleep together in his room. Haha. On the losing end of the bargaining table, she whimpers for a curtain to divide them and for him to not cross the line. Okay. During sleep, he holds her hand, making her arm cross the line. Pft. Lin Chi grumpily kicks her blanket.

Mo Qing Chen who's holding her hand: I can feel your frustration. Why did you agree to such terms that makes you so upset?
Lin Chi growls and kicks: None of your business!!!

Mo Qing Chen shakes his head, not understanding her logic whatsoever. Ha

[Ep3] Mo Qing Chen wakes up first. Through the curtains, he watches Lin Chi sleep. Does he feel something? Then he turns away, letting go of her hand. Perhaps feeling emptiness, he peeks at her, and interlaces their hands.

Mo Qing Chen is the palace. Ou, I like his entrance in his all white robes. His real name is Ji Ding Lan. He's a prince.
Then he's back home holding Lin Chi's hand, but he can't stand her unruly behaviour. He's starting to notice her (bad) habits and he's determined to change her. Since his feelings are dependent on her, her preferences are downgrading him.

Lin Chi stares at him incredulously: Are you saying that I don't deserve to have things I like? I don't deserve to be myself?
Mo Qing Chen: Is it not good to be like me?
Lin Chi: How come you can choose what's good and what's bad, but others can't?
Mo Qing Chen: I will make you learn to like it.

Lin Chi stalks off. Mo Qing Chen stops her and accidentally dislocates her arm again... ouch, lol. She doesn't need him to fix it for her. If he dares follow her, then prepare to cripple her because she's not following his rules anymore.

When faced with the possibility of losing her, Mo Qing Chen will forfeit changing her. He wants her and he knows where to find her. Currently, Lin Chi is turning herself in to the court, exaggerating all her crimes to earn a heavy sentence. She'd rather be imprisoned behind bars than by Mo Qing Chen. However, with Ling Shu's (Mo Qing Chen's lackey) arrival, the judge bends over backwards, quickly releases Lin Chi and personally escorts her back to Mo Qing Chen.
Lin Chi discovers Mo Qing Chen is a prince. Frightened by his status, she's meek and docile to all his demands. She leans over the table just to put her hand in his. She stops fidgeting around and sits properly even if her legs are numb. Lin Chi feels like her life is on the line – she has to be respectful even if she's insincere about it.

Indirectly, Mo Qing Chen got the change he wanted in Lin Chi, but he's not pleased. He can sense her resistance. He wants her to stay with him at her own free will and not out of fear.

Under Mo Qing Chen's orders, Ling Shu asks the consorts why they're willing to stay with the Emperor. The collective response is that they have everything already but they really enjoy counting the stars with the Emperor. And so in the middle of the night, Mo Qing Chen drags Lin Chi out of her bed to count stars together. Literally, counting stars. He's like How do you prefer to count them, from the middle? Left to right? Top to bottom? Omg lol. Forcing her eyelids to stay open, Lin Chi is counting stars with him. At 52 she loses count. He's annoyed at her for being so slow, quoting that other people like counting stars. Grumpy, Lin Chi tells him to go find those people to count stars with him. I never knew counting stars could be so torturous. Although counting stars isn't working out for either of them, he is relieved she's angry at him. He likes it when she's herself. But she counters that she can't be herself when she's afraid of him. He reminds her that she knows his weakness. It's him who should be afraid of her. Lin Chi smiles at the reminder until he has another reminder: "You stopped at 53." LMAO. We're still doing this?
Plan 2.0. Ling Shu advises Mo Qing Chen to compliment Lin Chi's qin skills. But she doesn't know how to play. That's okay. He tells her to play anyway. And so as she's plucking away at the chords, Mo Qing Chen compares her musicality to poems describing the beauty of the – Dong! – mountains  and the – Dang! – oceans. Abruptly, Lin Chi tells him to shut up.

Lin Chi: I'm not deaf! Hahaha

[Ep4] Mo Qing Chen brings Lin Chi to a party with a ton of rich fellas which means she's highly likely to meet some of her enemies – the scums she stole money from. And she does. She's ridiculed in public. Mo Qing Chen takes her side, majestically saving her from embarrassment and settling the score for her. Lin Chi is under his spell and thinks he's in love with her (too). However her bubble pops after she learns she's merely a tool for him to perceive his senses. She should have known, lol. Even then, Lin Chi doesn't want to escape. Her shijie, Qiu Wan, is here to save her, but Lin Chi finds all sorts of random excuses to stay as long as she can. Before the girls escape, they're suddenly kidnapped. By who? The Empress.

Fortunately, the master saves Lin Chi and Qiu Wan. However, when Lin Chi hears Mo Qing Chen is in danger, she turns herself in. She helps the Empress and Mo Qing Chen overcome their crisis. Mo Qing Chen was set up by his brother who wanted to expose his inability to sense to the Emperor. Lin Chi had appeared as a maid and slipped her hand in Mo Qing Chen's to allow him to feel the temperature of a jade. When Lin Chi held his hand, Mo Qing Chen had a micro-smile. Without looking at her, he knew it was Lin Chi's hand. The Emperor suspects nothing. Or does he? His expressions are dubious

Although Lin Chi saved Mo Qing Chen, the Empress cannot allow her to live while knowing Mo Qing Chen's secret. She throws Lin Chi in the water with her hands tied up. Will Mo Qing Cheng save her in time? He's galloping on his horse, at every beat he's wishing Lin Chi can hang on until he arrives. Back to Lin Chi who's drowning, she's saying goodbye to everyone she loves. She doesn't regret her decision to save Mo Qing Chen but she regrets not being able to see him anymore.

[Ep5] When Lin Chi wakes up, she's with Mo Qing Chen. He tightly embraces her, finally knowing the feeling of losing and then regaining (the pain and the relief of it all). He apologizes to her and assures that her master and shijie are safe. However, Lin Chi has had enough of him who treats her like a tool, and his mother who wanted to kill her after she helped them. She questions him that even if he gains emotions through her, what does it all mean when he can't understand them? Why keep her at his side? Although Mo Qing Chen doesn't understand his desires either, he knows that when she was in danger, he wanted to be at her side no matter what. That night, he has a nightmare of her drowning again. Lin Chi is a little sarcastic and asks if he's addicted to that strong feeling (of seeing her die). Mo Qing Chen shakes his head. Never again. However, something is off. How did he feel such fear when he hadn't touched her yet?

Now that Lin Chi has returned from the dead, she wants revenge, ha. She's going to seduce Mo Qing Chen and then embarrass him just like what he did to her. However, Lin Chi is just falling deeper in love. Her seducing him is hoping he'd like her back. All her tactics fail (because the tactics are bad and not her).

The next day, her sadness turns to anger, but then when she sees him taking a shower (with a robe on....) her mouth is watering. As if hypnotized (more like seduced), her finger is attracted to his chest that then lifts his robe to expose a bit more of that chest. Her touch disturbs him and he catches her hand. He can feel the hotness burning in her heart. Lin Chi runs away, unable to explain her feelings.
Qiu Wan openly flirts with Mo Qing Chen. He's not quite apt enough to reject her. This makes Lin Chi and Ji Ding Luan jealous. (Ji Ding Luan is a prince too). Lin Chi succumbs herself to alcohol. When she's home on the bed with Mo Qing Chen, she's reeling with jealousy. And now she's got her drunk hands on his thighs, his chest, and finally, her lips have conquered his. Shocked, he pulls her back up to remind her about their contract. She's not allowed to touch his thigh, his chest or his lips. Alcohol seems to make her smarter as she counters their contract lists that he can't touch her, not that she can't touch him.

Ji Ding Lan is Mo Qing Chen's brother, and a prince. He wants revenge on Mo Qing Chen and the Empress to avenge for the death of his mother who was killed by the Empress for suspecting Mo Qing Chen's lack of emotions. His servant, Ling Yan also has a blood debt with Mo Qing Chen. Additionally, she has a crush on Ji Ding Lan. Does this guy like her back? I think not

[Ep6] Mo Qing Chen realizes he might like Lin Chi. Meanwhile Lin Chi is dying from embarrassment. She remembers she kissed him last night. Qiu Wan laughs and tells her that the whole time she was with Mo Qing Chen, they were talking about her (Lin Chi). Invigorated and hopeful, Lin Chi thinks she needs to take responsibility for kissing Mo Qing Chen. Lol. However, when they see each other, they're both shy and walk away.

But their emotions can't be restrained. He turns around and finds her already staring at him. Taking her hand, he brings her to his other backyard. He has decorated it with lanterns. After wishing upon the lanterns, she sweetly asks him if he has any words for her. And so he wishes her longevity and happiness. Lin Chin whines that she didn't want to hear these common birthday wishes. She's like, What happened to saying you're pretty. you like me, you want to be with me. Mo Qing Chen smiles and hugs her. Their love is reciprocated.
At night, when Mo Qing Chen is asleep. Lin Chi is still awake. She stares up lovingly at her sweetheart. She softly kisses him. I am surprised he didn't wake up. Then in the morning, she's expecting some love, but Mo Qing Chen is exactly the way he is. Emotionless, almost. LOL

Fed up, Lin Chi goes shopping to relieve her frustration. She bought a shabby house, and about two hundred wood blocks. Anything useless, she bought because anything is more useful than the blockhead in the house aka Mo Qing Chen xD. Mo Qing Chen has a knowing smile. If it makes her happy to spend, spend, spend, then he'll buy, buy, buy. The reason she's mad is because he's neglecting her. But actually, these days, he's been investigating her, hoping to bring back memories from her past to make her happy. He also knows she has a lost sister. Oh, I think I know where the plot is going. From now on, though, he wants her future memories to include him.

Ji Ding Luan is low on money. He's dissolving his servants and giving them their last pay, well, struggling to pay them, He's so stingy, lol. But why is he so poor?

[Ep7] Mo Qing Chen has a business trip. Lin Chi misses him so much, she cries at night. Ling Hua laughs at her lovesickness. Lin Chi is determined to visit the palace to find her prince. She smuggles in as a eunuch. However, when she finds him, he's with another girl. Empress has set him up with another princess. Lin Chi is clearly upset at Mo Qing Chen but when their eyes meet, he has such a gentle smile that it melts Lin Chi's anger.

At night, Mo Qing Chen takes Lin Chi up the roof. I'm relieved we're not counting stars! Lin Chi knows that he sneaked up to the roof a lot as a kid. She wondered how lonely he was. He was used to it, though. It wasn't lonely. So when does he feel lonely? He answers when he's eating, walking, and reading – whenever she's not there, he's lonely. In their conversation, he also reveals that he was awake when she sneaked a kiss on him. Lin Chi looks down, embarrassed. Why didn't he tell her? He was afraid to disturb her (kissing him).

Empress is at it again in trying to separate Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi. Good thing Lin Chi does a decent job in protecting herself. Then Mo Qing Chen flies in to save her. He threatens Empress she'll lose this son if she continues to target Lin Chi.

Mo Qing Chen is back home. Lin Chi is glued to him. Then the servants start crying, and begging for forgiveness. It was their fault Lin Chi smuggled into the palace. Lin Chi joins in on the tear-fest. Mo Qing Chen is like Ya, stop the act. Everyone has a knowing smile as Lin Chi quickly grabs Mo Qing Chen into the manor. Ling Hua and Ling Shu high five with the soles of their feet. I typed this whole paragraph just so I can say I really like the Ling servants' feet high five.

Since the Empress is preparing Mo Qing Chen's marriage, Mo Qing Chen will marry – not the girl the Empress wants but the girl he wants. He will marry Lin Chi. First he asks for permission from her master. Then he's sneaking a measuring tape around Lin Chi's waist to prepare for her wedding dress. Finally, he's switching out all the old furniture for new ones. Lin Chi is oblivious to the marriage plans. The house is all red and she can't tell. If we're not getting a romantic proposal, this marriage is likely not happening

[Ep8] Wedding is off before Mo Qing Chen can even propose. It's ruined by Empress who calls Lin Chi unworthy of her princely son. Lin Chi's heart shatters very suddenly, I have to say. She packs her bags to leave. She won't marry Mo Qing Chen. She rips their contract. In the midst of stopping her, he falls back, pulling down Lin Chi with him. The tears in her eyes drop into his. Then Lin Chi runs away. He tries to stop her but Lin Chi uses her qinggong on him. She's serious about leaving. Mo Qing Chen was so preoccupied, he belatedly realizes he has his senses. However, he's not as happy as he had thought he'd be. That's because he lost something even greater.

Lin Chi is heartbroken, she doesn't even realize she's pouring cold water into her bathtub. But wait!  It's not from heartbreak! She can't feel the temperature. Neither can she taste bitterness or feel warmth. Qiu Wan is furious that Mo Qing Chen hurt her shimei, thinking it's a heartbreak. Qiu Wan attacks Mo Qing Chen while conveniently updating him on Lin Chi's condition, of course. And now Mo Qing Chen knows Lin Chi doesn't have her senses. When Qiu Wan is back, she updates Lin Chi on Mo Qing Chen's condition too. Can he really feel pain as Qiu Wan described? And why can't he dodge Qiu Wan's attack?

Both Lin Chi and Mo Qing Chen search for each other. Along the way, Lin Chi senses she's being tailed. She hides in an alleyway and disappears. Then the follower is followed by Mo Qing Chen who confronts the follower on her motives. However, Mo Qing Chen forgot he doesn't have his powers. He's in danger.

[Ep9] Lin Chi saves Mo Qing Chen with her all new powerful qinggong. However, the bandit lady pulls a dirty move and throws a ninja dart at Lin Chi. Mo Qing Chen blocks the attack and suffers an injury to the chest. Back at the manor, as Lin Chi is tending to Mo Qing Chen's wounds, she holds onto his hand. A striking pain overcomes her chest. She's feeling Mo Qing Chen's pain (not sure if it's physical or emotional pain). Mo Qing Chen grips onto her hand, telling her, "Thank goodness the one who's hurt isn't you." Well, technically, she can't feel pain. It might be better if she was hurt

Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi realize they've switched their senses and powers. He wants her to stay in the manor for her safety. However, she already has his powerful qinggong; there's nothing for her to fear. Mo Qing Chen says he's the one who's afraid – afraid of losing her. Lin Chi, a little moved, tells him she's only here for her senses. Until she retrieves them, she'll stay. Then what if he never returns them, he asks. Will she have to stay with him forever then? Lin Chi remains silent.

The more time they spend together, Lin Chi's anger dissipates. She apologizes. She shouldn't have taken his anger out on him. She shouldn't have left like that. These two just needed a chance to communicate. He apologizes too – they spent the whole afternoon trying to recover her senses but no luck. Lin Chi: "Then let's try some more." They kiss ~

They're a couple again! Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi rewrite the contract (since she ripped the last one). It's the same contract except the parties are switched. For example, it is now Lin Chi who cannot touch his thighs, chest, things like that. Well, Mo Qing Chen will gladly amend that clause if she wants to touch him, lol. Lin Chi rewrites it herself; her main concern is for him to not bully her. They sign it (He's looking a little disappointed. I don't think I'm imagining this). Then at night, she hovers around his room, looking for the contract. More like looking for his sleeping partner. Smirking, he asks if she forgot to add a clause: to sleep on the same bed. She murmurs, Who wants that? She wants it

Mo Qing Chen: Then it is I who is inviting you to sleep with me.

She walks sideways to the bed, eagerly wanting to sleep with him and desperately trying to hide her eagerness. Then he pulls her down to his lap, telling her to stop sleeping in the guest room.

In bed, Lin Chi tells Mo Qing Chen a legend that if a couple are at a lakeside right before the water turns to ice, their shadows can be frozen in the lake. It's a blessing to the couple to be together forever and ever. Mo Qing Chen hopes the legend is true. When he tells her that, Lin Chi is already asleep. He takes away the curtain to sleep facing her, as he holds both her hands.

[Ep10] Ling Yan is looking for her older sister. Lin Chi is looking for her younger sister. Guess what? They're sisters. This makes Mo Qing Chen the supposed killer of their family. Hola, star-crossed lover Plot. I missed ya

The sisters reunite. Lin Chi's real name is Lin An Le. Ling Yan's name is Lin An Yan. Ling Yan has a separate agenda (in spite of being moved by the reunion). She's here to confirm if Mo Qing Chen really is senseless and emotionless. In turn, Mo Qing Chen and Du Ruo are a tad suspicious of Ling Yan and investigate her.

[Ep11] Lin Chi was suspicious of her sister too, but she gave her the benefit of the doubt. Finally, Ling Yan comes forth with the truth that it was Mo Qing Chen who killed their family – Ling Yan had witnessed him holding a bloody sword. Lin Chi never knew her family was massacred. She had always thought it was an accident. Could Mo Qing Chen really have killed her family? No! Lin Chi needs a night and day to think it through. After a conversation with her master, she realizes how Ling Yan, who was so young back then, recognized it was Mo Qing Chen. I think Lin Chi has too many emotions for someone who is supposed to be emotionless

When Lin Chi questions Ling Yan about Ji Ding Yue, Ling Yan becomes doubtful too. Why would he put her in danger if he professes to care about her? And then a hug from him dispels all her worries.  See, why can't this trick work for our CP? The hug even invokes a deep memory. Ling Yan has a way to prove that she saw Mo Qing Chen ten years ago. He has a long scar on his back.

[Ep12] While Mo Qing Chen is sleeping, Lin Chi confirms the scar is on his back. Mo Qing Chen is awake. His brows knit together as he wonders why she’s not directly asking him. As she stays silent so does he, but he vows to himself that he will give her an explanation.

The second Du Ruo arrested the coroner involved in Lin Family’s case, Lin Chi is here asking him for evidence. Du Ruo finds everything too coincidental. However Lin Chi insists and he reluctantly permits her to visit the coroner. The coroner tells Lin Chi that it was under the Empress’s order to wrap up the case, further implying that Mo Qing Chen really was the one who killed Lin Family.

Lin Chi confronts Mo Qing Chen (who was ready to explain anyway but not like this). Ten years ago he was in Lin Family for his condition. It was a pure coincidence he was there at the time her family was assassinated (as reported). However, Lin Chi informs him of the Empress's involvement in covering up the case. Mo Qing Chen never knew about that. Then he confesses that he doesn’t remember how her family was killed or if he was the one who killed them because he was under the influence of the medication. Oh dear. If he says it like that.... Devastated, Lin Chi points the sword at Mo Qing Chen. He too is disheartened and confused but he walks into the sword, self-deepening his wound in his chest, physically and emotionally. Lin Chi flinches and drops the sword. She runs away. Ling Yan picks up the sword, intending to finish him off, but Ling Shu blocks the attack.

Mo Qing Chen: Only Lin Chi can kill me.

As Lin Chi walks away, remembering everything about Mo Qing Chen, in her head she knows.

Lin Chi to herself: Only I can kill him but it is only I who cannot kill him.

Mo Qing Chen asks the Empress for answers. She doesn't give him much, but it is enough to confirm his doubts. When he’s back home, he numbs his pains with alcohol. Then he hurts himself by accident. He couldn’t sense the temperature of the pot and burned his palms. Did he lose his senses? No. It’s just this other place hurts more – his heart. It’s the same for Lin Chi. Everything she eats is bitter. It’s not that she can taste bitterness – her heart is bitter. Although, I don't know how she feels if she can't feel.

[Ep13] Du Ruo tries to convince Mo Qing Chen that everything is too coincidental. Mo Qing Chen  was suspicious too but it’s the truth that he can’t remember anything from that day. Du Ruo approaches this logically: Mo Qing Chen was injured and Lin Chi’s parents can’t fight, which means someone else had to be there. Du Ruo also has an emotional approach: if Lin Chi killed the wrong person then she will live guilty her entire life. Du Ruo yells at Mo Qing Chen, "Don’t push all the responsibility onto her!” So much sense! Mo Qing Chen is convinced.

It’s snowing. Mo Qing Chen hands Du Ruo a letter (detailing the legend by the lake). Our good guy Du Ruo, who obviously loves Lin Chi, delivers the letter to allow Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi to meet by the lake. When it's time for the water to freeze, Lin Chi is there with Mo Qing Chen. She thinks it’s not a bad idea – to be together forever. Mo Qing Chen detects her underlying meaning: she will kill him and then die with him. He won’t allow that. He asks for time to investigate. Lin Chi thinks the answer is already clear enough. It isn’t. He needs to absolutely confirm that he is the murderer, that the real murderer won't roam freely, and that if he is the murderer, Lin Chi won’t feel an ounce of guilt when she kills him. T_T

Lin Chi wants to investigate with Mo Qing Chen but he won’t let her. She thinks he doesn't trust her. But why is this about trust? If I were Lin Chi, I’d want to investigate too. Mo Qing Chen takes out her sword and gives her the handle. If she doesn’t believe him, then she can kill him now. She can’t. Lin Chi leaves, swearing that if he really is the murderer she will personally kill him. Then Mo Qing Chen grabs her back for a brief hug. This guy. One minute kill me, next second hug her. He gives her his fur coat and reminds her, “Even though you can’t feel the cold, your body will be affected.” Oh okay, now I get why he’s always in a fur coat

Ji Ding Yue orchestrates a scheme to have the coroner die by Mo Qing Chen’s sword in front of Lin Chi. She’s convinced. Unsheathing her sword, she takes a step forward to kill Mo Qing Chen. She had promised herself she wouldn’t waver. Then Master swoops in. He was gone these past days to search for the medication Mo Qing Chen was prescribed at Lin Family’s. This medication has a side effect – he can’t fight. Therefore he can’t kill. However, that doesn’t explain the coroner’s death that she just witnessed right before her eyes. Du Ruo speaks up for Mo Qing Chen noting the peculiarity of the coroner. Aw! This good guy

Mo Qing Chen has evidence to confirm that he was set up. He finds the assassin who’s faking her death on the ground. She is there to ensure the coroner will commit suicide. Exposed, the assassin attacks them. The familiar moves elucidate a lost memory: this assassin was the one who slashed his back when Lin Family was massacred. Hearing this, Lin Chi erupts. *In my best Lin Chi voice* How dare you hurt my sweetheart! A single blow from Lin Chi sends the assassin flying to the ground. The assassin admits to killing her family.

Du Ruo arrests the assassin. Meanwhile Mo Qing Chen takes Lin Chi to rest. Du Ruo watches melancholic. Master pats him. He’s like, It’s too late; when she was single, you didn’t care

Ling Yan, who’s disappointed with her sister, swipes her sword at Mo Qing Chen but Lin Chi shields him, suffering a wound on her arm. Blood is dripping. She can't feel the pain but Mo Qing Chen hurts for her. Lin Chi tells Ling Yan, "If you don’t believe me then kill me." Omg. This again. Ling Yan points the sword at her but switches her target. She cuts off a strand of her own hair, a sign that their sisterly bond is severed.

Mo Qing Chen tends to Lin Chi’s injuries and cools down her medicine before feeding her. She calls him silly. She can’t feel anything anymore. And this is precisely why he needs to care for her. Although she can’t feel the pain, her body will. On the topic of pain, Lin Chi apologizes for hurting him that day with her sword. Mo Qing Chen smiles that she must love him a lot for holding back in that situation. I find it really sweet of him to turn her guilt into love.

Mo Qing Chen had bought (and restored) Lin Family’s home. He had wanted to show Lin Chi earlier. It’s not too late. He brings her to her home and now she also knows the truth.

[Ep14Such a funny, cute, and sweet episode!!

Ji Ding Luan and Qiu Wan have a lovers quarrel which brings us an entertaining set of misunderstandings that also involves Mo Qing Chen, Lin Chi and a closet. It’s actually very hard to explain coherently and here, I try:
  • Mo Qing Chen almost had a date with Qiu Wan.
  • Lin Chi almost slept with Ji Ding Luan (who is in the wrong bed).
  • Lin Chi hides in this large spacious empty(!) closet to prevent any more misunderstandings.
  • And the closet game begins
  • Mo Qing Chen joins the closet. Lin Chi dragged Mo Qing Chen inside the closet after hearing Qiu Wan's voice outside. She whispers angrily at him for his almost date with Qiu Wan. Mo Qing Chen is mischievous in this enclosed space. He clarifies that nothing happened during the date with Qiu Wan but if Lin Chi showed up, he was sure to do something ~ like kiss ~
  • Qiu Wan joins the closet. Qiu Wan wanted to avoid Lin Chi and hid in the closet. Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi were in the middle of kissing. When they wanted to come out...
  • Ji Ding Luan joins the party! He's drunk and falls over them in the closet
  • What about Ling Hua and Ling Shu? Ling Hua and Ling Shu happen to be in the room looking for everyone. Well everyone starts coming out of the closet, ha. Mo Qing Chen clears his throat and promises Ling Hua and Ling Shu they can join for their next game of hide and seek. LOL
Qiu Wan becomes a “matchmaker” which apparently gives her the right to demand absurd requests from Mo Qing Chen. If he can't fulfill them (120 of them!), he can't marry Lin Chi. Thus, Mo Qing Chen removes Qiu Wan from her position, lol. I've never seen him grumpy in such a gloomy state, ha. Lin Chi is confused and offended (she doesn't know what Qiu Wan has done). Mo Qing Chen walks away, as if ignoring Lin Chi, but he tells her he’s not allowed to say more than three lines when they’re in an argument.

To his servants, Mo Qing Chen wonders if this is marriage or imprisonment. LOL. Smart Ling Hua solves his question. These 120 demands all stem from one premise: to spoil and love Lin Chi. It doesn’t actually matter how many there are, there really is just one. Mo Qing Chen is convinced! He accepts the (120!) demands and sends betrothal gifts to Qiu Wan who should receive them for Lin Chi. However, they're all returned. This time for a good reason. He's marrying under the name “Mo Qing Chen” and not his real name "Ji Ding Lan" which means he's giving up his family to marry her. Lin Chi can't accept his sacrifices. She can wait until Ji Ding Lan can marry her. However, he doesn't want to wait. It doesn’t matter if he’s Mo Qing Chen or Ji Ding Lan, the person he wants to marry is only her.

So how can Mo Qing Chen marry her as Ji Ding Lan? He decides to ask the Emperor to bestow a marriage. He may lose favour but other than Lin Chi, he's not afraid of losing anything else. The only difficult part about penning this letter is that this is his first time writing to the Emperor (his father).

Lin Chi is anxious that Mo Qing Chen hasn't slept with her for days. She paces in her room, wondering if visiting him will expose her desperation to marry him. In the end she visits and learns he's actually very busy (trying to marry her, lol, but she doesn't know that). She empathizes with him and then it hits her: Why is it that only men do the proposing? She can propose too! And off she goes to ask Qiu Wan for help. And then Lin Chi finally learns of the 120 demands and yells at Qiu Wan but she is simultaneously touched that Mo Qing Chen actually accepted them. Lin Chi is even more determined to propose.

The next day Lin Chi is dressed for the occasion. Bad timing , though. The ministers are here to relay their concerns about marrying a commoner. Mo Qing Chen asks them if it's written somewhere that a prince cannot marry a commoner? Then he spots Lin Chi hiding behind a semi-transparent divider. The ministers with their heads down can't see. Mo Qing Chen walks over and clasps both of Lin Chi's hands in his. His voice is still loud as he speaks to the ministers that he will go against all odds and overturn the world if he has to in order to marry Lin Chi. The defeated ministers adjourn.

Mo Qing Chen compliments Lin Chi's pretty attire, asking "Were you afraid that I’d reject you?" Oh? He knew she was going to propose? Ji Ding Luan is the traitor who informed him. Lin Chi is dying from embarrassment and wants to escape, but Mo Qing Chen clutches tightly onto her, "I agree to your proposal but where is my wedding gift?" Lin Chi is perplexed; she's empty-handed. Sweetie, he's asking for a kiss. And he swoops in for his gift.

[Ep15] Ji Ding Yue and Mo Qing Chen are to duel – another scheme devised by the former to defeat the latter in front of the Emperor in order to win the Military Seal. Lin Chi is worried that Ji Ding Yue will play dirty and hurt the powerless Mo Qing Chen in the middle of the battle. Well, he does play dirty before the battle. He convinces Ling Yan to kidnap Lin Chi in order to prevent Mo Qing Chen from attending the duel. Unnecessary. Ji Ding Yue, just defeat him, you wimp. Mo Qing Chen already doesn't have his qingong! Ling Yan, who cares for her sister, notifies Du Ruo, who notifies Mo Qing Chen, who saves Lin Chi. The fear of almost losing her washes over him and tears well up. A drop falls into her eyes. Their senses return to their original state which means Mo Qing Chen's qinggong is back. Oh, I see why this scene is necessary now.

Mo Qing Chen arrives in time for the duel. Ji Ding Yue, you have stirred the pot. Mess with Lin Chi? Mo Qing Chen will destroy you. However, he saves Ji Ding Yue before he falls into the water. Why? Mo Qing Chen wins with barely any effort. Then the Emperor demands an explanation for his lateness and the commoner (Lin Chi) who's with him. It's not a surprise the Emperor vehemently disapproves of Mo Qing Chen's marriage with Lin Chi. There's no punishment from the Emperor yet. He's just very, very, very angry.

Lin Chi is very, very, very disappointed with her sister but Mo Qing Chen explains the credit to saving Lin Chi is mostly Ling Yan's and let's erase the fact that Lin Chi was in danger mostly because of Ling Yan. On to Ling Yan's side: she's beginning to waver. She can clearly see the difference in Jing Ding Yue's "love" for her vs. Mo Qing Chen's love for Lin Chi. Ling Yan wants a thorough investigation just like Lin Chi.

The scene then switches to Du Ruo who admits that he thoroughly lost to Mo Qing Chen. Master says he didn't lose – he never even fought. Du Ruo had wanted to be successful and then profess his love. It's too late, but he's happy for Lin Chi. The scene switch from Ling Yan to Du Ruo makes me wonder if they'll be a pair

It's the first night Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi are sleeping together after their senses have reverted. She complains that it's hot. It shouldn't be hot, though. Mo Qing Chen touches her hand and feels her heart breathing rapidly and fervently (a Chinese idiom to mean agitated), but wait, it feels more like her heart has a deep itch that's burning and can't be relieved. Why is she so hot? Why o' why. Lin Chi urges him to sleep. Mo Qing Chen recognizes she's shy. And then he becomes shier. When Lin Chi wants to lean on his shoulders, he jumps up and clarifies they should follow their original contract and hold hands to sleep. Poor Lin Chi, what to do with your itch?

[Ep16] Lin Chi thinks the key to switching their senses is when they are emotionally tense which is associated with accelerated breathing rates and therefore to increase that they can exercise. Our poor girl exercised herself to tears because of her cramps. Mo Qing Chen solves the riddle – it's the tears. When he places her tears in his eyes, their senses switch. Lin Chi, who still thinks it's the breathing rates, winks at Mo Qing Chen as she flies about with her qinggong. After she's done playing, she wants her senses back and encourages Mo Qing Chen to exercise with her. Mo Qing Cheng entertains – he picks her up and spins her around. He knows he can't let Lin Chi torture him anymore and so he tortures her? lol he pretends to hurt his leg – an inner pain invisible to the naked eye. Lin Chi is at his orders, massaging his leg and pouring tea until she realizes he's treating her like a servant. Mo Qing Chen clarifies that she will be his wife anyway. Lin Chi admits it's true but how he's asking her matters! Just to clarify I don't think he meant to say wife = servant but the actions she was doing (massaging and pouring tea for an injured husband) is something a wife would do too

Lin Chi ain't liking serving her soon-to-be husband. If he can't exercise, she can make his heart rate accelerate in another way. With Ling Shu's cooperation, Lin Chi pretends to die, uh correction: drown. Well, Mo Qing Chen would be an idiot to fall for that. Lin Chi lies on the bed, motionless. Mo Qing Chen smiles and starts removing her waistband. He can't let her be in soggy clothes, can he? Lin Chi springs up, accusing him of molesting her, and dramatizes her anguish with tears. She pushes him down on the bed to confront him. Mo Qing Chen reflexively looks away to avoid her tears and now it's exposed. She tries to cry to test his hypothesis but it doesn't work. Turns out the person who has the senses needs to be the one to cry. And so Lin Chi's mischievous plans to make Mo Qing Chen cry beings.

Enough with the hi-jinks, Ling Yan invites Mo Qing Chen to a secret rendezvous. He trusts her and she is willing to give him time until they confirm the real murderer but for the time being, she can't face Lin Chi when Mo Qing Chen is the prime suspect. Mo Qing Chen takes the dessert that Ling Yan had prepared for Lin Chi and tells Ling Yan that his doors will always be open for her. After he leaves, Ling Yan cries.

Mo Qing Chen has a sure way to convince the Empress to approve of Lin Chi: He needs her because they can switch their senses at their command. Then Lin Chi is summoned to the room and I love how she one-upped the rude maid by making the maid step aside. They demonstrate the switch and now the Empress has more reason to kill Lin Chi now that Mo Qing Chen has her senses. But there is a caveat. Mo Qing Chen loses his qinggong, which makes him just as vulnerable without his senses. But can't he just train himself again? xD Anyway. Lin Chi adds a sentimental touch: her status may be lowly, but her love for Mo Qing Chen isn't less than the Empress. The Empress is wavering and needs time to think.

Currently, Mo Qing Chen has the senses. Lin Chi wants to have a feast and these two bicker; she wants him to cry and he doesn't want to cry. Ha. I love how this couple wants each other to cry. Mo Qing Chen sighs as he can predict his future woes – imminent future woes. The following day, Lin Chi wants to switch because her stomach is in pain from the feast. Mo Qing Chen cooperates. Excitedly, she lies on his lap ready to receive his tears. But wait, she's supposed to cry. Lin Chi quickly sits up and pats her lap for the prince to sleep on. Ha. Lin Chi glows wickedly as she hugs his head – Muahaha – and cries a happy tear. Gosh, I love her. Mo Qing Chen smiles a tender one, knowing he relieved her stomach pain. Not woes. This is his bliss xD

[Ep17] Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi are enjoying a spa (i.e. cucumbers on their eyes). Ha, our happy crying couple. Their eyes are really red...! They promise to stop switching (or more like Lin Chi needs to behave). Lin Chi eagerly agrees and thumb stamps their pinky-promise, but she forgets the powers are with her and she packed too much force in that thumb of hers that his entire body flings sideways.

Empress approves of the marriage! Lin Chi's kindness has touched her and most importantly, she sees her son has learned to empathize through Lin Chi. Empress even convinces the Emperor who then allows Lin Chi to be a stepdaughter of the Empress's distant relative therefore giving Lin Chi the noble status to marry Mo Qing Chen. Also, Mo Qing Chen takes Shi Yi to her old home and asks her parents (tablets) for their daughter's hand. With both their parents' approval, these two can marry ~

[Ep18] Brokenhearted Du Ruo challenges Mo Qing Chen! Lin Chi is confused, What could these men be battling for? You, sweetie. But! It's not just a battle. Du Ruo was passing his love for Lin Chi to Mo Qing Chen, telling him everything he (Du) knows of Lin Chi: her fear for thunder and spiders, her love for spicy, her alcohol tolerance, and her reckless personality is never without a reason, etc. Mo Qing Chen asks if Du Ruo needs to speak with Lin Chi. He doesn't. It's already enough that he told Mo Qing Chen all that he knows on how to care for Lin Chi. O' where is my classical jealous scene! I actually like this a lot, though.
Lin Chi and Mo Qing Chen marry! At night, she asks what's next. Sweetie.... and Mo Qing Chen asks another question: Can we switch our senses? He, without them, is afraid he can't control himself. LOL. Interesting. But as long as they touch somewhere, it's fine, right? Lin Chi giggles, but Mo Qing Chen is quite serious.

The next morning, Lin Chi is up bright and early. It's Mo Qing Chen who's still in bed (pretending to be asleep). He's partly ignoring her because he's waiting to be called "Husband". Nope! She's  naughty and is going to stick with "Mo Qing Chen".

Empress invites Lin Chi to sample tea. Lin Chi gulps and muffles that it's hot. Haha. The Empress wants her to be worthy of her title as a way to protect Mo Qing Chen. Lin Chi agrees with this. Back at home, she adopts lady-speak, studies tea, and walks like a rod. At night, Lin Chi refuses to kiss him because ladies do that; they refuse what they want. And so Lin Chi sucks her lips back in, appearing docile and demure and everything not Lin Chi. Mo Qing Chen, who had overheard everything, swiftly kisses her cheeks. Real Lin Chi unleashes. She jumps him on the bed.

The next morning, Mo Qing Chen is perplexed and warns Ji Ding Yue to not marry Qiu Wan. This is advice coming from experience. Hahaha. He complains that when Lin Chi can't remember what she learned, she's frustrated and when he tells her to stop, she's angrier. She says it's for him but she's not listening to what he wants. It seems marriage has made her tired of him. Haha. I wasn't expecting this conclusion, xD. Marriage is the tomb of love. Ji Ding Yue smiles and assures Mo Qing Chen that Lin Chi loves him. He has an advice to share too: the guaranteed way to appease women is to Apologize (and know what you're apologizing for!).

[Ep19] Lin Chi needs advice too (lol). It's Qiu Wan who tells her to be herself. Her temperament has been hot because, face it, she can't be demure. Also Mo Qing Chen loves Lin Chi not because she's demure. When our couple bump into each other, they're awkward. He apologizes. Confused, Lin Chi asks for a reason. Sighing, Mo Qing Chen explains he's relentlessly looking for a reason too. Pwahaha! That apology works too! Lin Chi laughs and snickers at him for copying Ji Ding Luan. She holds his hand and tells him to be himself. She takes her own advice too and thanks him for tolerating her. Aw. And these two are back to being lovely.

Lin Chi and Mo Qing Chen visit the sickly Emperor. Lin Chi, with her medical knowledge, suspects the pot is poisonous when used to brew This Herb. Mo Qing Chen quietly informs the eunuch. And then the Emperor recovers! So fast. Actually, the Emperor was faking his illness to test who is filial. He knows Ji Ding Yue is behind the pot business but he doesn't punish him directly. The Emperor cares for his sons (even if they want to kill him...). I am surprised the Emperor is smart!

Ling Yan wavers on her trust for Ji Ding Yue but a kiss and a night of sex restores her faith in this evil man. But he slips up! He talked about her mother hiding Ling Yan in the cupboard during the murder when she never told him this detail. She now knows the killer is Leng Feng (with Ji Ding Yue being the mastermind). Leaving a letter for Lin Chi, she promises she will resolve everything. Ling Yan plans to kill Ji Ding Yue. She draws her sword for a duel but at the fatal moment, she succumbs to her feelings and drops her sword to receive her death. In her last breath, she asked if he knew she couldn't kill him. Ji Ding Yue cries and apologizes. He knew. Her hand reaches out but before she touches his face, she dies or did she give up on this guy? I hope it's the latter

[Ep20] Lin Chi grieves for Ling Yan. In this depressed state, she agrees to privately meet with Ji Ding Yue. Why privately?? Bring Ling Shu/Hua with you! Meanwhile Mo Qing Chen is away because the Emperor has summoned all three princes to be selected for this important role. Mo Qing Chen gets the role which also means he's closer to being the Crown Prince. He doesn't immediately save Lin Chi because he knows Ji Ding Yue won't kill her yet. Why not save her immediately?? She's still in danger. He took her away for a reason!

Lin Chi ingested This Herb and will die in three days. In exchange for the cure, Mo Qing Chen will admit that he is the senseless and emotionless prince to the world. He instructs Ling Shu to keep this from Lin Chi. However, the moment she wakes up, she realizes he must have promised to sacrifice something for her cure. He lies that he's giving up the Crown Prince position. There is some truth:

Mo Qing Chen: In this life, to have you, is more than enough. He'd choose her over anything

At night, in solitude, Mo Qing Chen gazes up at the night sky. He apologizes to everyone. If he dies, he promises to become a star and shine brightly for them to see. In his remaining days, he asks the Emperor if the Empress does anything to anger him to please forgive her. He also visits Ji Ding Luan to teach him archery. Then he's back with Lin Chi who's still poisoned (waiting for the cure). She had a dream where they have three children together: two girls and one boy. Oof.

I appreciate Lin Chi for being smart after she woke up, but everything before that, why? I was hoping she had Mo Qing Chen's qinggong to at least protect herself. How was she even poisoned? Tell me there's a twist >.>

[Ep21] Three days are up. At the national ceremony, Mo Qing Chen declares that he's the cursed prince. He's arrested (and gets the antidote). The real prince who is emotionless and a brute and a curse is Ji Ding Yue. Ji Ding Yue doesn't get all he wants, though. Part of his revenge includes the Empress but the Emperor won't harm her.

Emperor visits Mo Qing Chen in prison. He asks why after all these years that he hid it so well that he's exposing himself. This is Mo Qing Chen's decision. He asks his father whether he believes in the prophecy that he is a curse to the world. The Emperor's answers are not answers. The world believes it. What does it matter whether he believes it? Emperor, your son wants to know if his father believes him. Mo Qing Chen kneels down. For the world, he will accept his punishment but he asks the Emperor to remember the promise about the Empress. The Emperor is a man of his words. Mo Qing Chen also tells the Emperor to guard Ji Ding Luan and Lin Chi because they're likely planning a prison break. (They are planning it.)

Per Emperor's edict, Lin Chi is exiled and Du Ruo is to arrest the already arrested Mo Qing Chen for Lin Family's murder. This is the Emperor's way of giving his son a happy ending. Du Ruo is under the Emperor’s orders to release Mo Qing Chen which will risk his future, but to Du Ruo, the risk is worth it. But is the risk just his career? Why do I feel like he was prepared to die for them? There’s one last act to complete the show: the Emperor shoots an arrow at Mo Qing Chen. The arrow perfectly misses. Mo Qing Chen gives a full bow to the Emperor who's freeing him.

Du Ruo is arrested by Ji Ding Yue. Du Ruo was ready for the  worst outcome

[Ep22] Our couple safely escapes. Ling Shu and Ling Hua help clean up the new house (which is a present from our super stingy Master!). Mo Qing Chen declares Ling servants are no longer servants. Out here, everyone is of equal status. Lin Chi cleverly gives him the dishes to do. Also, Ling Shu and Ling Hua have a bickering love line going on.

Ling Hua dies! Not really. She ate too much of this mushroom which made her temporarily die (whatever). It's the same mushroom Lin Family used to treat Mo Qing Chen. Since it's dried up, none of them recognized the mushroom, but Lin Chi recalls she ate these mushrooms too. Her parents had made her eat it around the time Mo Qing Chen was at her home. Was her father using her to test Mo Qing Chen’s medication? No. Instead, her father might have been using her body to metabolize the mushroom in a way that activates its maximum therapeutic potential. It wasn’t random that he could sense through Lin Chi. It wasn’t random that her tears are his medication.

Ji Ding Yue has angered the Emperor so much, he’s bedridden. Confining the Emperor in his room, Ji Ding Yue rules over the palace. He invites Ji Ding Luan to visit the Emperor all to scare him enough to look for Mo Qing Chen. Thus, Ji Ding Yue’s men follow Ji Ding Luan and locate Lin Chi who's all alone in the mountains. Girl, why are you always alone!

[Ep23] Master (who is with Ji Ding Luan) had set up a lost-me maze so that those following will be lost. I totally get this. However, it only works for the house and not the wood outside.

Lin Chi is kept hostage. Mo Qing Chen will save her (and the rest) by exchanging himself. He will die, fake die thanks to the mushroom. Thus, Ji Ding Luan escorts Mo Qing Chen’s corpse to Ji Ding Yue. Our villain is in disbelief. Mo Qing Chen actually died for a woman. Ding Luan tells Ding Yue that he (Yue) is the real monster. Mo Qing Chen has a heart; he doesn’t. Ji Ding Yue also doesn’t deliver on all of the conditions he promised. He will still keep them hostage (rather than kill them?).

Emperor calls Ji Ding Yue a 'silly child'. Ji Ding Yue admits to being silly. He did all this not for the throne but for right and wrong, for morality. However, did Ji Ding Yue truly achieve all that he wanted? The Emperor doesn’t regret killing his mother, instead he insists she deserved to die. The death of Mo Qing Chen did not relieve an ounce of hate in his heart. Everyone still loves Mo Qing Chen; as for himself, no one loves him. Dude, you killed the one woman who loved you. He did everything he planned, but why does it feel so empty?

Mo Qing Chen, with his super duper qinggong, saves everyone! But when saving Lin Chi, he falls to Ji Ding Yue. He found the mushroom suspicious and set up poisonous needles on the floor. Mo Qing Chen is susceptible because he can’t feel the pain of the noodle like normal people would. He collapses from the poison. Ji Ding Yue allows the couple to say their last goodbye. Lin Chi runs to Mo Qing Chen and cries for him. Alas! The tear! The switch! Lin Chi has the qinggong now. Kapow! Everyone is down. Lol. Lin Chi is cooler with the qinggong than Mo Qing Chen, the originator. Ji Ding Yue is tied up and brought forth to the Emperor. Dad is trying to tell his silly-monster-kid that he was protecting him. It's not getting through Ji Ding Yue's blockhead.

[Ep24] Lin Chi is tender with Mo Qing Chen's wounds but he's still complaining about the pain with a smile plastered on his face. He just wants Lin Chi’s love. Lin Chi whines to switch their senses. Let the boy indulge! From not sensing or emoting, he can now feel both pain and love (mostly love). It’s a blessing. Mo Qing Chen teases Lin Chi that just because she's emotionless right now, she can't slack off of caring for him. Complaining about her love, is it? Lin Chi bites down on his hand, intending to make him cry but she stops. She can’t bear to put him through pain. She also doesn’t want to cry or make him cry. She gets up to brew medicine but he pulls her down to hug her in his arms. She’s better than any medicine. Well, she is his medicine

Show, I think we should have just let Lin Chi keep the qinggong so that none of the kidnaps would have been successful. Just an FYI

Prophecy business. Mo Qing Chen finds it suspicious the Emperor was so calm when he knew he was the cursed prince. Here’s what happened: Ji Ding Yue’s mother poisoned the Empress when she was pregnant to make Mo Qing Chen emotionless and senseless and then she created the cursed prophecy. Mo Qing Chen is angry at the Emperor for always knowing and doing nothing. All these years, he watched them (Empress and Mo Qing Chen) suffer and watched Ji Ding Yue succumb to hatred. A case of a good Emperor but a horrible father. He tried to be good at both but between the two he had a priority and his sons suffered for that. Emperor hints to Mo Qing Chen to help Ji Ding Yue live. Then he tries to touch his hands Mo Qing Chen steps back.

In prison, Mo Qing Chen gives Ji Ding Yue a choice: the poisonous wine or the mushroom. Either way “Ji Ding Yue” has to die. The poisonous wine will take his life; the mushroom will take his identity but keep his life. Mo Qing Chen tells Ji Ding Yue just enough for the latter to understand the son the Emperor was protecting was him all along. Everything he believed was right was wrong. Deliriously, he sees Ling Yan. She gives him the kiss of death, inviting him to where she is. In reality, Ji Ding Yue chose the poisonous wine.

Mo Qing Chen is appointed the Crown Prince and he is to move into the Eastern Palace but Mo Qing Chen refuses. So is he still the Crown Prince? I guess so?

Du Ruo is released from prison! The Emperor had promoted him as an Imperial Guard but he prefers to be working in Dalisi. His first task is to arrest his Master, lol. The (drunk?) Master exposes him from leaving the imperial post: his heart will hurt to sees Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi in love. Aw. Master, why you stabbing where it hurts!

Ling Shu and Ling Hua are bored. Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi are away. Ji Ding Yue and Qiu Wan are getting married. They have no one to play with. Play with each other, you dummies! They both think of Du Ruo who’s definitely free because he’s a lonely man. Ouch. LOL. And thus begins the fight for Du Ruo between the Lings. (By the way, Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi are away making babies.)

One morning everyone is having breakfast together. Lin Chi doesn’t have appetite. Mo Qing Chen (with the senses) holds her hand and feeds her but she retches and he follows retching. LOL. Lin Chi is pregnant. Oh man, can we get a delivery scene with Lin Chi holding Mo Qing Chen’s hands xD. Please, please. please. Everyone is excited and surrounds her, pushing Mo Qing Chen further and further away. He happily sits there (waiting for his chance with his wife, I suppose) until Master mentions that she’ll  have to live separately from Mo Qing Chen. Our soon-to-be-dad loses his smile. He no longer wants a baby, “I only want you (Lin Chi)!” Our boy is jealous of his own kid. Lin Chi explains how precious their baby will be and assures him they'll be living together. (It's the latter part that convinced Mo Qing Chen to be a dad, lol). I am a little more appreciative of this "jealous of my own kind" scene. Mo Qing Chen never had a "father" and probably never yearned to be a father. Lin Chi is the only family he truly had and if their baby was going to take her away from him, his reaction is... understandable xD

The delivery scene!!!! Lin Chi is screaming in pain. Mo Qing Chen asks to switch their senses but she wants to experience everything – the happiness and pain of all that is a mother’s. Lin Chi safely gives birth. Noooo! I mean, yes! but no! Where is my hand holding?! I wanna see Mo Qing Chen scream! However, the baby isn’t crying. Mo Qing Chen fears for their child. He didn't cry either. And then their baby cries. A cutie with senses!

The end.

Remarks

[First Impression (Ep1-6)] Lemme address my bias first: I really like Bu Guan Jin. Usually, I find her characters relatable. This one, she's hilarious. Her expressions and her comedic timing has me laughing out loud. Anyway, the core of this story: we have a cold prince who seems besotted with our FL, but really, he just wants to feel through her – until he actually wants to feel her.

Bu Guan Jin's character, Lin Chi, is a jianghu girl but rather than jianghu-like I find her more modern-like, which is a nice contrast to the ML who is sticking with the traditional prince-like character. Speaking of the ML, he's got these weird monologues in the beginning. Mainly, I just ignore him there. Never do I ignore him elsewhere. These two have chemistry.

The opening theme is way too melodramatic in both the song and the scenes – unfitting of the first few episodes which I find are cute, funny, and sweet. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the drama turns angsty. She has this lost sister and that's all I'll say except maybe we'll have star-crossed lovers....

[Actors/Actresses] It's a nice surprise seeing Bu Guan Jin in a period romcom. I'm so used to her bob cuts that I thought she'd be weird with long hair, but she's still pretty, very pretty in fact. I particularly like Bu Guan Jin because she makes her characters witty (even if she's kinda dumb here). To me, whenever she delivers her line, I feel that she's thinking through the meaning and expressing it with her tone, her expressions, and actions without being pretentious. It's a very natural type of acting. Basically, I like her.

Wang Xing Yue was in One and Only. Good thing I saw him there first. I don't think he's that good looking, but seeing him twice makes his features familiar, and better looking, at least for me, and I am now appreciating his soft, tender smiles, something he clearly couldn't do as the tragic and repressed Crown Prince.

[Chinese Title] 公子傾城 (Gong Zi Qing Cheng) means a young master who can ruin or overturn the state  –  a suitable title for the prince (Mo Qing Chen) who is prophesied to destroy the world. Mo Qing Chen's name sounds similar to the title but they are different Chinese characters.

Side note: 傾城 (qingcheng) can also mean alluring which usually refers to a woman. Specifically, this type of beauty is so alluring that it's ruining and overturning a man's heart.

And then we have the English title: Your Sensibility My Destiny. O-kay.

[Behind the Scenes

[Ending] Happy! There's baby business.

Ending thoughts:
  • I think Mo Qing Chen is the Crown Prince. Also, he doesn't quite forgive his father, the Emperor, which is understandable.
    • Initially, I had predicted Ji Ding Luan would be the underdog Crown Prince candidate, and then Mo Qing Chen and Lin Chi could roam around jianghu. Oh well. It's probably a good thing Ji Ding Luan isn't the Emperor. If how he manages his quarters (poor to the point that he can't pay his servants) is an indicator of his leadership, I'm not sure what would become of the country.
  • I really like the Du Ruo + Ling Hua/Shu ending. It was sad and super cute.
  • A huge pity on the delivery scene, though. I had such high expectations!
  • There are three annoying Lin Chi kidnaps but I see why plot wanted to do it:
    • First kidnap showed Ling Yan cares about Lin Chi
    • Second kidnap gave Ji Ding Yue the upper hand for the ending climax (and to show that Mo Qing Chen cares for her)
    • Third kidnap brought the last twist that cleverly uses their ability to switch their senses (their hidden card).
    • I really like the last one because of the switch – drama used the plot it set up from the beginning. But our Drama could have been more creative. But y’know, what is more convenient than to make the FL an idiot to get plot going? I totally get it. Women are flexible like that. Sometimes smart, sometimes dumb; always unpredictable, always colourful. That’s the message, right? I’m cool with that
[Review & Rating]
Fluffier than a meaty drama. Meatier than a fluffy drama. I like it. Not too serious and not too flimsy. Humour and romance will quickly wash away the short bouts of angst.

Bu Guan Jin is hilarious and emotional when her character needs it. Wang Xing Yue’s gloomy-grumpiness is hilarious too. Marriage through his somber angle is too amusing and I never thought it could also be so loving.

When I think Drama has plot holes, it really has, but there are these little details or the end result make up for it, somewhat. The amount of times Drama used let’s-kidnap-the-FL trope to drive plot was overkill, though. Like why is Lin Chi always alone? Why not use her resources like Ling Hua and Ling Shu? Supposedly, they are very capable of protecting her, but I’ll never know because the drama never showed it. Other than not using the Lings to their worth, I love their supporting scenes everywhere else and I like how the last kidnap cleverly uses (some of) the drama’s resources.

Overall, I really enjoyed how the story is focused but I’ll probably remember the humour more. From the crying couple to their marriage and grave comparisons to their closet hide and seek game, Lin Chi and Mo Qing Chen are a hilariously romantic duo (and good looking pair too).
