  1. 1993. At the hospital, a doctor’s daughter ends up getting her throat slashed by an angry grieving man who just lost his wife and unborn child.
  2. 2023. Kim Myeong-joon kidnaps Choi Ro-hee, who eventually wakes up and appears to have lost her memories. So he says that he’s her appa.
  3. Ro-hee is able to speak multiple languages and quite observant. She also wants real food – none of this junk food he keeps trying to feed her. She feels quite comforted by this handy backscratcher.  
  4. Myeong-joon has a real-life daughter, Kim Hee-ae who is currently in the hospital as a leukemia patient. She’s not awake and will require some very expensive surgery.

  1. Myeong-joon wonders why Ro-hee’s real parents haven’t been answering his calls or asked for her return. He then finds out that the cops have discovered that they were murdered in their home. But who did it?
  2. Myeong-joon sets his car on fire to quickly get rid of it.
  3. A creepy junk man tries to kidnap Ro-hee but she’s miraculously saved by Myeong-joon.
  4. Hee-ae’s surgery has suddenly been paid in full, so she's scheduled for surgery on June 5th. But if Myeong-joon didn’t pay for this, who did?
  5. Ro-hee eats at a restaurant while he leaves to make a call. When he returns, he finds her passed out. He frantically tries to wake her up by her real name. He carries her on his back all the way to the hospital.
  6. She has a shrimp allergy. The medical staff have also reported him for child abuse as they noticed the multiple bruises all over her arms. 
  7. When the two realizes this, she pulls him by the hand and they run out of there.

  1. Outside, Ro-hee angrily walks away from Myeong-joon who finally yells out her real name. 
  2. He confesses the truth about who his real daughter is and what's happened.
  3. Myeong-joon sets her free and then leaves to turn himself in at the police station.
  4. But when she sees the red and blue flashing lights of an approaching police car, she starts remembering bits of flashing lights from that night. Frightened, she backs away from the vehicle and bumps into an officer.
  5. After a merry chase, this officer finally manages to reunite her with her “appa.” 
  6. Once the officer leaves, she then beats Myeong-joon and forces him sign a contract agreeing to help her find out what happened that night. ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ She also wants to meet his estranged wife, Seo Hye-eun, who he has been desperately trying to reach for days. So now they're back on the run.
  7. The police have discovered that Hee-ae's 50M won hospital bill was paid with cash. 
  8. Detective Park Sang-yoon makes the kidnapping and murder cases go public along with the fact that Myeong-joon has a criminal history… for murder?!

  1. He had accidentally killed another athlete during a judo match. His nickname at the time was "The Monster."
  2. Myeong-joon and Ro-hee show up at his estranged wife's place. She later tells him that she had left them to spare Hee-ae from the humiliation of having an HIV patient parent. 
  3. Even though Hye-eun was the mastermind, Myeong-joon plans to take full responsibility for Ro-hee’s kidnapping. When that time comes, he wants Hye-eun to take care of their daughter. 
  4. Ro-hee is the product of Dr. Choi, her father's Genius Child Project. Those bruises on her arms came from the various needle injections.
  5. The security guy, Park Cheol-won has a secret stash of hard drives. 
  6. While sniffing flowers, she suddenly remembers her mother but a mysterious man drugs her and whisks her away. 
  7. At the same time, the cops arrive to arrest Myeong-joon. But he desperately runs away from them to save Ro-hee.
