[Ep1] The past. Gu Chuan almost catches a crow on his camera but it flies away. He’s out on a trip taking pictures of the nature for his university project. When he gets back into his car, there’s a car ahead blocking his path. A little girl (the young Jiang Xiao Ning) is waiting for the lizard to walk safely across the road, afraid her father’s car will run over it. Both cars head in the same direction and unfortunately, Jiang Xiao Ning’s car crashes. A truck driver drove onto their lane with intention to murder her family. Gu Chuan gets off his car to check on the victims, but the truck driver whams into him too, knocking the Jiang Xiao Ning’s car and Gu Chuan down the hill. Gu Chuan is still conscious despite a piercing object in his heart. He doesn't burden the crying little girl about his injury and holds onto her hand to wait for a miracle.

Ten years later.
The optimistic girl. Jiang Xiao Ning grows up optimistically despite being a walking curse. Her 27th employer has gone bankrupt again. Her employer is chill about it and laughs that she must be a curse to all bosses. Nah, she corrects him she's a curse to herself. In spite of every unfortunate thing, she remains bubbly.
The pessimistic guy. Gu Chuan ain't bubbly. He's pessimistic and to prove it, Drama has him buying his own grave. The salesperson clarifies this site is reserved for clients to buy for people he loves and not for himself, plus, he isn't even dying and he'll need to have paperwork to prove it, etc. Looking deadpan, Gu Chuan promises it'll be very soon. The wording of the salesperson is weird. It's like I have to prove I’m dead and then buy a grave. Tell me how that works.
Xu Cheng Ran is very worried about Gu Chuan, his favourite man in the world. He thinks Gu Chuan is suicidal and plans to hire a secretary to monitor him 24/7.
Drama Fate. Gu Chuan and Jiang Xiao Ning meet again at her other part-time. She's a substitute driver for him. Gu Chuan wouldn't have given her another look if she hadn't touched him and stayed healthy. Whenever Gu Chuan's heart rate spikes, he electrocutes everything around him. To his surprise, Gu Chuan's electrical powers have no effect on her. Then as she's driving, a truck drives down the opposite lane. She nervously pulls over, needing a minute to calm down. Then another truck drives by. Jiang Xiao Ning unconsciously clutches onto Gu Chuan's hand. His heart rate accelerates again. Jiang Xiao Ning is still fine. Gu Chuang lets his guard down and touches his car, and now his car is dead, lol.
Gu Chuan arrives home via tow truck. I think it's a home but it doesn't actually look like a home. It looks more like a futuristic lab and inside there's a coffin or a tanning bed or a therapeutic bed that he enters. Was there a supernatural or sci-fi tag to this drama?
[Ep2] The mechanical heart. Gu Chuan doesn't have a pulse, Drama says. The pulse reading that he gets on his watch is an estimated pulse from the calculation of the speed at which the blood runs in his body. The mechanical heart gave him a second chance at life but simultaneously took away his life. With this heart, he cannot experience the normal joys of a human being. The therapeutic bed Gu Chuan entered is to recharge his mechanical heart. His heart used to operate consecutively for 20 hours but now it only works for 10 hours. When his heart rate reaches 100, he can shock others. When it reaches 110, he will feel pain and can turn on lights. When it reaches 180...he doesn't know. Gu Chuan has never reached over that. While he's recharging, Jiang Xiao Ning has a dream of him that night. Ten years ago, when she was in the accident, she wasn't able to see him but she remembers the voice of the boy who sang her a birthday song. Her birthday became the death anniversary of her parents...
The secretarial job. Jiang Xiao Ning applies to be Gu Chuan's secretary but he rejects her not because it's her but because he doesn't need one. He tells her to graduate from architect first. Technically, she discontinued her studies already (she needs to earn money for her tuition first). Later, they bump into each other at a library. She takes this chance as an extension of an interview. She really wants this job; it can bring her experience. When the pedestrian light is red, she takes his hand and makes him walk another route with a green light. To her, this isn't a waste of time; there's more than one route to a destination and as long as she keeps moving, even if she has to pour in double the effort, she'll reach her goals. Those words make Gu Chuan change his mind and hire her.
Perhaps opposite attracts. Unlike Jiang Xiao Ning, Gu Chuan has stayed idle in his life all these years, preparing for his death. He won't even let his parents approach him, afraid they'd be hurt when he dies. Essentially, he's a living dead man. And it seems like Jiang Xiao Ning's words have stirred the flickering light within our dark, dark Gu Chuan.
[Ep3] The perks of the job. Jiang Xiao Ning is a driver and a secretary – by name. In reality, she's just a driver. Gu Chuan expects her to do nothing else. She can learn all she wants as long as it doesn't impede on his work. Xiao Ning is rather ecstatic at her new job and is in complete awe at his charisma and knowledge. Later, Gu Chuan even helps her fend off a sexual predator, He Sheng (this pervert at the company Gu Chuan is trying to win a bid from). Gu Chuan is officially Xiao Ning's idol and she makes sure he knows it. She's thankful to him and gives him a present: a simple drawing of a flower.
The jealous secretary. Although Gu Chuan finds Xiao Ning overly yappy, he likes her enough to give her more chances to learn. Oh hey, our CEO is caring, he just doesn't emote. This raises Su Man Lin's jealousy-meter. She's his other secretary?. She tells Gu Chuan that Xiao Ning is skipping a valuable learning opportunity for personal matters, omitting the fact that she's going to a hospital. Xiao Ning's aunt is in a surgery after a minor car accident. Fortunately, our smart CEO calls Xiao Ning to confirm, and even if our dumb FL doesn't tell him she's at the hospital, the conversation she has with a nurse alerts him where she's at.
Another jealous guy. Like all friendly CEO's do, Gu Chuan visits the hospital and will cover the fees (that will later be deducted from her pay). Tang Xu, a rich looking friend of Jiang Xiao Ning's, refuses for her. Tang Xu will cover it for her. There's an antagonistic aura invisible to the naked eye between the two men over the hospital fee. However, Xiao Ning chooses Gu Chuan. She doesn't like owing others and Gu Chuan's money is technically her own money just in the future. The winner of the petty competition goes to Gu Chuan!
The doctor. Gu Chuan's doctor notices a change in his patient. Normally Gu Chuan would ask when he will die but today he asks when will he become normal again. The Doctor's EQ are high too and immediately links his change to a woman. Although, he doesn't look very professional, he's here for an important matter: to upgrade the software in his heart. The update includes a new interface (that looks prettier) and a quicker charging time. He also invented a portable power bank so that Gu Chuan can re-charge outside of his home.
[Ep4] Xu Cheng Ran's phone alarm goes off. It's linked to Gu Chuan's heart. Aw. Gu Chuan's heart rate is up because he's exercising – something he normally restrains himself from doing. Xu Cheng Ran quickly checks up on Gu Chuan, ignoring all the girls surrounding him. More about Xu Cheng Ran: he's "brothers" with Tang Xu. Dad Xu adopted Tang Xu and it doesn't look like Xu Cheng Ran ever accepted him into his family.
Gu Chuan and Jiang Xiao Ning go fishing. He caught a fish and she puts it in the bucket but the fish slips out of her hand. Seeing her struggle, Gu Chuan picks it up but ends up holding her hand instead. This physical contact makes the both them freeze.
Jiang Xiao Ning smiles: Boss, we've made eye contact. It's Xiao Ning who caught the fish – a big one: Gu Chuan's (mechanical) heart
The next day at work, Tang Xu drops Xiao Ning off. Gu Chuan adds an impromptu clause in her contract: no dating during internship. He adds another one: no unnecessary contact with unnecessary people. Xiao Ning innocently asks for the definition of "unnecessary people". Gu Chuan eyes Tang Xu and lists what he sees: single (not that he can see this), tall, and in a trench coat. Xu Cheng Ran chirps in: "last name Tang." Lol.
[Ep5] Gu Chuan permits Xiao Ning to continue to call him: Boss (老板).
Gu Chuan: Didn't you say "老板" means "老是板着脸"? (always putting on a stiff facial expression). I hope you can remind me to be happy a bit more.Jiang Xiao Ning: Yes, Boss.Gu Chuan: Oh and –Jiang Xiao Ning: Please speak, Boss.Gu Chuan smiles: Your drawing skills really suck.
Xiao Ning is an official employee after she gave him an inspiration for a project. Does that mean the no dating clause is over? At the celebration dinner, Xiao Ning toasts Gu Chuan. Then she asks him to stand up. In front of everyone, she gives him a hug to show his gratitude. Xiao Ning is very drunk.
Gu Chuan drives Xiao Ning home but she takes a stroll, afraid her grandmother can smell the alcohol on her. However, with her terrible luck, she meets He Sheng who was laid off which he blames on her. He drags her across the street to find somewhere suitable to assault her? Gu Chuan hears He Sheng on the other end of the phone and immediately drives to her. The men fight. He Sheng has a broken glass bottle aimed at his heart. Xiao Ning tries to help but he swipes at her too. This makes Gu Chuan furious and his heart rate soars to 110. Gu Chuan short-circuits – his electrical powers blasts He Sheng flies backward. Xiao Ning did not catch this moment. Oh yes, it's also raining. Not good for the mechanical heart.
When He Sheng wakes up, he testifies that Gu Chuan is actually Flash and has superpowers. The police officer rolls her eyes and note down that he's drunk. When Xiao Ning testifies, Gu Chuan and Xu Cheng Ran are relieved she didn't see Gu Chuan's powers. I missed the part of why Gu Chuan's mechanical heart needs to be kept a secret.
Gu Chuan is worried about the ten seconds when he had a lapse. The doctor tells him it's a protection mechanism when the heart overheats. It's nothing to worry about unless the rebooting takes too long and there's not enough oxygen supplied to the brain. Nothing to worry about. The doctor adds that Gu Chuan must stay away from accelerating his heart rate. "Love is dangerous for you" says the doctor who was giddy he met a girl. However, he promises he'll find Gu Chuan a solution – says the doctor who's been saying that for ten years.
[Ep6] Aunt Jiang is worried about Xiao Ning's injury that she sustained from He Sheng. After all, she is insensitive to pain since the car accident. I don't know what this means. Is this another “superpower"? Or is this irrelevant?
Tang Xu visits his biological father who's in prison. He tells Tang Xu that even if Dad Xu values him, he needs to be objective, don't be bound by money. Tang Xu isn't receptive to his father's advice. To him Dad Xu is the one who loves him. His own father is the one who caused the death of his mother and destroyed his life.
Xu Cheng Ran plays cupid. He invites Xiao Ning over for dinner and leaves her with Gu Chuan. This gives Xiao Ning a chance to cook for Gu Chuan. She calls him over to ask for a little bit of help and he thinks she wants him to comb her bangs that’s in her eye. No. She needed him to grab her the food from somewhere. Embarrassed, his heart rate picks up.
Xiao Ning asks Gu Chuan why he's raising a lizard as a pet. He says, "Because dogs will wait for you and cats need to be cared for." Lizards don't give and don't take. He can live with the lizard with neither of them affecting each other. That screams lonely. He wants a pet but can't have a pet. He wants love but can't have love.
Xiao Ning stumbles and lands atop Gu Chuan. His mother opens the door at this exact moment but she quickly closes it, thinking she must have been imagining things. When she opens the door again, Xiao Ning and Gu Chuan have found their spots and are pretending to be in a meeting. That doesn't fly. Anyway. Xiao Ning quickly leaves, giving Gu Chuan his family time.
However, Gu Chuan is so, so cold to his family. Daddy Gu is furious at his attitude. Dad recounts how Mom guarded by his bed night and day until he recovered. Gu Chuan remains still, unmoved, "Other people's heart have flesh and blood, but I don't." He can't be the son they want or have a family. "So can you guys pretend you don't have a son like me?" Lonely, lonely.
[Ep7] Xiao Ning and Gu Chuan are taking the elevator. He notices there's grub on her face. He wipes it for her and then the elevator stops working. They both think it's their own fault. He thought he short circuited but his heart rate is normal; she thought it was her curse. The fix will take a while and the two remain rather calm. They're both way too familiar with the elevator breaking down on them, lol. She also does her usual: apologize. Anything bad is automatically her fault. He tells her about Festinger Law. It states that 10% of life is what happens to you and 90% is decided by how you react. I googled. First result tells me this is Stephen Covey's 90/10 Rule. Shrugs. He tells her that no matter how you avoid the bad things, you cannot avoid that 10% so why not focus on the 90% of the things that you can change: your reaction and your attitude. I like this but is she not optimistic enough? In other words, he's telling her to stop being apologetic for things that aren't even her fault.
Elevator is still down. The conversation is now about happiness. For him, he thinks his happiness will be winning this prestigious architect award. Then after that he plans to retire. Xiao Ning is vehemently against that. How can he waste his talent? Plus if he quits, who will she work for? Who will she rub off some intelligence from? She concludes he cannot quit.
Gu Chuan: Okay, then you must continue to be my secretary no matter where I go.Xiao Ning smiles.
Someone is here to save them. She tells Boss to go first but he's a gentleman and kneels down for her to step on him. Oh, but he's her Boss! She can't do that. Without a choice, Gu Chuan forces her up by lifting her. When she's safe, she offers her hand to pull him up. Suddenly from her hand, he's reminded of the little girl from ten years ago. But no, he doesn't connect the girls.
[Ep8] It’s confirmed: Tang Xu is the son of the driver who killed Xiao Ning’s parents. Auntie Jiang refuses to live in his home. Xiao Ning pleads for Auntie to listen to her. Grandma burned down the one they rented; Xiao Ning has no money to afford another place to live. She cries for Auntie to understand her. Aw, Xing Fei is good here. Auntie hugs Xiao Ning to comfort her for all the struggles she went through.
Xiao Ning is at Gu Chuan’s home for work. Gu Chuan’s heart rate accelerates when she gets a little too close to him. They both feel the electricity (the emotional kind). Xiao Ning quickly excuses herself to fetch him water and once she’s back, he stays far away from her. He accidentally touches his computer and now all the electricity is out (the physical kind). The security is here and they’re already familiar with where the cable box is. It happens too often.
Gu Chuan is jealous of a convenience store boy (a Fan Zhi Xin cameo) who appears friendly with Xiao Ning.
The next day, Gu Chuan oh-so-smoothly finds a hair-clip in his pockets. He’s like Oh, it must have been a plus one when I bought milk at the convenience store. Then he casually gives it to Xiao Ning when in reality, he was super nervous about it. He finally smiles when he sees her try on the clip.
[Ep9] Xiao Ning loses a client. It was Su Man Lin who set up Xiao Ning for failure and then blames Xiao Ning for her bad character. Xu Cheng Ran saves Xiao Ning from being fired but really he was helping Gu Chuan keep the girl he likes.
By chance Xiao Ning and Gu Chuan meet each other when they both show up at the client's place. Xiao Ning is turned down again by the client. She struggles to hold back her tears. Gu Chuan gives her his handkerchief. Xiao Ning recognizes that it's the same design from the other day in the office when she was crying. She knows he cares about her.
Coincidentally, Xiao Ning and Gu Chuan meet again. Now they’re both stuck in this place where they can’t call a cab. She’s got her scooter and offers him a ride on the backseat. He asks her if she hated him for reprimanding her. She’s not really listening nor paying attention to the road I don’t really know what she’s doing then and forgets to slow down for the safety road bump. Gu Chuan is thrown off the bike, lol.
Gu Chuan: Were you trying to murder me?
That failed murder attempt eased the tension between them. She swears she doesn't hate him nor does she want to kill him. She swears.
Also, Xiao Ning solves the client’s problem.
[Ep10] Everything is going well with the client and Xiao Ning begins openly admiring her boss again.
Gu Chuan: Do I look better than the scenery?Jiang Xiao Ning: Scenery! How can it look better than you?
Gu Chuan shakes his head knowing she's back to her flattery self. However, Jiang Xiao Ning is serious about this:
Jiang Xiao Ning: I hope the light in you will never disappear.
The next day, Gu Chuan shows up at work with a bouquet of sunflowers. It's for himself. He's taking Xiao Ning's words seriously. Since he can't change his life, he might as well change his surroundings to be sunnier.
The sunniness turns cloudy when Gu Chuan spots Tang Xu putting on a necklace for Xiao Ning. That night, he texts Xiao Ning asking if she's sleeping. She replies that she's staying up to make lunch for him, afraid he wouldn't like it. Immediately Gu Chuan phones her
Gu Chuan: Am I that picky?Xiao Ning quickly reacts: It's not Boss who's picky. It's me who is picky. As your secretary it is my job to make you like me.Gu Chuan: I already really like you.
[Ep11] Gu Chuan really likes... the things she picks for him. Nothing romantic. To follow up, he asks her to come over in the morning to help him pick clothes for tomorrow's company retreat. But what about meeting at the company with everyone else? Gu Chuan replies that they can depart in his car. No biggie.
The salesperson suggests a couple outfit for Gu Chuan and Xiao Ning. She refuses but he encourages her to try it. She tries it on and he's like it looks great but that necklace doesn't match their athletic wear. She agrees and takes it off. All this just for her to take off her necklace... Satisfied, Gu Chuan buys their clothes. Xiao Ning shakes off the idea that her Boss could actually like her.
The place they're staying at ↑. Wow. Gu Chuan visits Xiao Ning in her bubble-room, asking for the food she prepared for him. There's fireworks outside and Xiao Ning wishes upon them. She also steals his wish for herself and uses it for the company's success and for her own pay raise. Gu Chuan interprets that her wish is actually for him to realize it. I like how these two are calm and slowly approaching one another, enjoying each other's presence.
Everyone is at karaoke. Xiao Ning sucks at singing. Gu Chuan gets up to duet with her, saving her from her embarrassment but it turns out he sings just as awful as her. Lol. Everyone knows Ren Jia Lun can sing.
The trip is over. Gu Chuan suddenly asks Xiao Ning for her crow. He will give her his lizard instead. He's switching the present because he wants her to listen to his voice message: "Jiang Xiao Ning, I hope that all your wishes come true." Xiao Ning repeats the message over and over again. Meanwhile the message Gu Chuan got to listen was this: "Either you do well or you get lost." Xiao Ning was imitating him; she didn't know he'd be taking her crow from her.
To all his employees, Gu Chuan is visibly brighter and more optimistic.
Xiao Ning coincidentally meets Gu Chuan's ex (Chen Wen Wen). Xiao Ning thinks she's an angel. She's a cameo by Xuan Lu (Lulu Xuan).
[Ep13] When Xiao Ning misunderstands after seeing Gu Chuan leave Su Man Lin's hotel room, Gu Chuan goes out of his way to explain that there was nothing. Xiao Ning notices.
Thanks to Xiao Ning, Chen Wen Wen and Gu Chuan meet again.
[Ep14] Just like Gu Chuan rejected his parents love, he rejected Chen Wen Wen as well and wouldn't see her after he recovered. He didn't even give her a proper break up. Essentially, he forced her to leave him with his silence.
[Ep15] Xiao Ning and Gu Chuan go on a business trip. They meet his teacher. Xiao Ning sees a picture of her father in the teacher's room. Turns out her father is an architect too who knew of this teacher as well.
Xiao Ning finds a lost cat and she makes Gu Chuan adopt him. He didn’t want to but that gives him an excuse to call Xiao Ning over whenever he wants to see her.
Gu Chuan is notified he won the big architect award which means all his life goals have been accomplished. Awesome, he can RIP now. However, Gu Chuan doesn’t look happy at all.
[Ep16] Xu Cheng Ran worries about Gu Chuan who didn’t show up for work. Gu Chuan is back to buying a grave for himself. Then he's back at work and Xiao Ning sees him sulking. He tells her about accomplishing his all life goals and not knowing what to do next. She’s like Easy peasy, just get a new goal. Thus, at the award ceremony when the emcee asks Gu Chuan what his future plans are, he looks towards Xiao Ning in the audience and replies that he’s waiting for a new goal.
After the award ceremony, Gu Chuan needs a breather and asks Xiao Ning to bring him to a quieter place. In this new beautiful scenery, Xiao Ning gathers her courage to confess again.
Xiao Ning: Boss, your future plans, can it have me? Because I like you.
However, Gu Chuan needs time. He needs to think about life.
[Ep18] Gu Chuan’s driving today. Xiao Ning peeks up at her boss and pulls out a coin.
Xiao Ning: Can I buy you something?Gu Chuan: Buy what?Xiao Ning: Your smile. If I had a notebook on flirting techniques, I'd star this one. But. First, I gotta keep change in my pockets.
That’s not all she wants to buy with her change. She wants to buy his smile for tomorrow, the day after, and forever. Now Gu Chuan has a piggybank of all the coins she gave him for his smile.
[Ep19] Gu Chuan learns Xiao Ning is the girl who was in the car accident with him. He doesn't tell her he knows it's her yet. There’s another happy news: three months later, the Doctor will have invented a heart that will have zero side effects. Gu Chuan will be normal.
[Ep20] Gu Chuan is jealous the entire episode and short-circuiting here and there.
[Ep21] Gu Chuan can no longer wait three months and confesses to Xiao Ning at a large scale venue with holograms, and balloons, and stars and lights. However, he asks her to give him three months without a proper reason. He also warns her that there's a possibility he can't return her love even after three months. She will gladly wait. Basically, he's saying I love you but we can't love yet and I don't know if I can love you in the future.
Gu Chuan drives Xiao Ning home. She's guilty because that's her job. It's outside of work hours so it's his responsibility as her not-yet-boyfriend to drive her. The underlying message of this drama: Get your CEO to be your driver. Goals!
Even though Xiao Ning promises she'll wait like twenty minutes ago, she lightly complains how she wishes time can go by faster and she's getting a little impatient and how there should be trust in love, etc. Girls *rolls eyes* Now Gu Chuan is considering to tell Xiao Ning his secret about his robotic heart. Xu Cheng Ran makes him reconsider, asking him if he's really, really, really, really sure. And I still can't understand why this must be kept a secret. It's a new surgery/treatment that should be shared internationally to benefit all humankind.
[Ep22] Xiao Ning learns everything (Gu Chuan's rechargeable robotic heart and him being her saviour). They kiss and she finally feels the shock – physical shock – because his heart rate >100. Is her ability to feel pain coming back?
This is the episode Xiao Ning begins to talk to Gu Chuan's heart like it's another living being. In this picture, she's peeking at Robo-heart to check up on it.

She's the first person he can't shock when his pulse is >100.
[Recap Updates (Ep16)] I don’t know if I will drop this but I am stopping proper recaps. I’ve lost interest in the story. Honestly, this premise sucks. I cannot understand Gu Chuan’s need to distance himself from everyone he cares about because of a robotic heart. He’s afraid of his heart rate going over 100 but it’s not like being happy, having a family and an SO around will guarantee that. Maybe once in a while but not all the time. He’s also scared he’ll bring pain to his family after he dies but he just wasted TEN YEARS of time he could have been happily spending with his family. There aren’t that many youthful ten years to waste. Now he’s going to reject someone he loves who loves him back because of his robotic heart again. Is this really necessary? Ren Jia Lun, why did you choose this character?

That's the gist of the story and how do I feel about this drama in general? I feel like I'm willing myself to like this.
I love Ren Jia Lun, I really love this guy, but if my favourite actor isn't in a good drama, then he isn't in a good drama. The story reminds me of Love Unexpected with the car accident that then led to supernatural stuff, and Sparkle Love with the electrocution and both were dramas I found mediocre. Now I get a combo? Dramaland, you’re cruel. The mechanical heart plot is taken way too seriously for my liking. What can save this is the chemistry but, as expected, my 2021 thing is activated again. I don't sense chemistry between the main leads!
I also need to clarify this isn't bad. Not at all. The ML isn't a jerk. The FL isn't that stupid. There aren't glaring plot holes (edit: minus the mechanical/robotic heart). There's good music. It's the contemporary rom-com we're all used to that's generally safe to like. The camera work can be sublime. There’s a melancholic prettiness in some of the scenes, especially in the beginning. Ren Jia Lun's acting of loneliness translates painfully on screen. I also see Xing Fei trying to do a different kind of optimism – a bit more restrained and not overly bubbly. This drama logically checks all the right boxes.
Perhaps I expected more of Ren Jia Lun. The most I can say is that I enjoy to this to an extent.
P.S. The Doctor gives me whiplashes. First he's like Woot! You got a girl! Then he's like You cannot love! In another scene, he tells Gu Chuan You cannot be too happy! but then later he follows up with You should be happy!
[Actors/Actresses] This is the first new drama of Ren Jia Lun’s since his popularity skyrocketed after Under the Power. Love a Lifetime and Autumn Cicada don't count because they were filmed years back. They were released because people were thirsty for Ren Jia Lun. Seeing Ren Jia Lun in the first scene of this drama, I was in utter awe at how baby-faced he looked, but to be honest, I'm still iffy whether Ren Jia Lun truly pulled off the CEO-look. In Under the Power, he had that amazing costume that elevated his charisma and now, without it, he looks too cute xD
[Recap Updates (Ep16)] I don’t know if I will drop this but I am stopping proper recaps. I’ve lost interest in the story. Honestly, this premise sucks. I cannot understand Gu Chuan’s need to distance himself from everyone he cares about because of a robotic heart. He’s afraid of his heart rate going over 100 but it’s not like being happy, having a family and an SO around will guarantee that. Maybe once in a while but not all the time. He’s also scared he’ll bring pain to his family after he dies but he just wasted TEN YEARS of time he could have been happily spending with his family. There aren’t that many youthful ten years to waste. Now he’s going to reject someone he loves who loves him back because of his robotic heart again. Is this really necessary? Ren Jia Lun, why did you choose this character?
[Dropped] It's time to admit I'm not a very loyal fan to any of my favourite actors. I don't feel the chemistry in this but maybe you will. I still love Ren Jia Lun, though, just not this drama.
