Liu Yuan Yuan tells Zhang Mu Xi she’s going to confess to Guo Jian Nan tomorrow. Before anyone hates her (when no one really should, this girl is just pursing the guy she likes), she’s the one who gave Guo Jia Nan the umbrella. She’s the one who told him that a certain girl (Zhang Mu Xi) isn't courageous enough to act on her love and will just stand in the rain to cry. Aw. And that's how Guo Jia Nan realized Zhang Mu Xi was in the rain all alone
[First Impression (Ep1-6)] Our female lead makes me daydream with her about her crush. What's cute about this is the boy's reaction to her. I like it when he secretly laughs at her awkward cuteness. That's really what kept me watching initially. I can be simple like that. The entire drama is incredibly short (~150 minutes!). I’m interested in the ML’s perspective of what happened back in high school. It seems like he liked her too. The chemistry is light and sweet.
[Actors/Actresses] Guo Jia Nan was in Miss Gu Who is Silent. I didn’t know he was this cute. Zhang Mu Xi was in Healer of Children. She was kind of ditsy there but she’s even ditzier here. Everyone is using their real names in this drama.

[Review] This drama is an easy fix for my romcom pleasures. It is my second short drama. I usually don’t watch these because they’re too short to be satisfying but the basketball scene caught my interest and watching the first episode, I wanted to watch the second. Thus, I ended up enjoying the entirety of this. This is about two people having a secret crush on each other. They’re stealthily approaching one another and fortunately for them, love blossoms. She’s a bit of an airhead who daydreams too much that it can’t be healthy. He’s the typical quiet guy who doesn’t express his love properly. There’s also a second couple who have a completely different attitude towards love. For a short piece, I appreciated how it covered various types of love. I like my CP but the type of love I admire the most is Liu Yuan Yuan’s.
Not a must watch, but this filled a void in my recent romcom thirst where dramas I was expecting to like have failed to interest me.

He assumes Zhang Mu Xi would have classes in photography and asks her for help. Zhang Mu Xi quickly accepts even though she's never done any professional photography. Luckily, her all-around roommate who's also a goddess helps her out. She's Liu Yuan Yuan.

Zhang Mu Xi lies that she's interested in astrology just like him. He smiles and takes her to the rooftop. She's having all sorts of reveries at what could spawn between the two of them. As he reaches his hand out to hold her face, she closes her eyes. He gives her a tiny slap. There's a mosquito on her face. Ha. He also asks her why she closed her eyes.
Zhang Mu Xi tries to point to a star she knows. Guo Jia Nan holds her hand to point her to the right direction. Heart flutters ~

After a successful presentation, Guo Jia Nan winks. Zhang Mu Xi thought the wink was aimed at her but it was at his roommate Yu Xuan Chen. This girl is making me daydream with her, lol. The team celebrate at dinner. Zhang Mu Xi tries to make herself drunk so that Guo Jin Nan will take her home. She drinks and drinks but she's not feeling the alcohol at all. Guo Jia Nan notices her drinking a tad too much and blocks the drinks coming her away. Zhang Mu Xi is so obsessed with being drunk, she whimpers that she can drink. Guo Jia Nan is too stern, though. The guys complain he's ruining the fun. Guo Jia Nan proposes they all down a bottle. Once the guys do it, Guo Jia Nan quickly grabs Zhang Mu Xi to flee.
Guo Jia Nan walks Zhang Mu Xi back to her dorms before it's locked. As she's tailing him, she tries to make their shadows hold hand. She's almost caught by Guo Jia Nan. Once they arrive at the dorms, the doors are locked. Her smile is wide as she tells him that. He smiles back that she sure is happy. Seeing him smile, she compliments him. His smile drops. He then pinches her cheek as he tells her that him not smiling is so to prevent her from being delusional. She's already delusional whether or not he smiles. The dorm lady interrupts this moment.
[Ep5] Zhang Mu Xi thinks her love rival is Liu Yuan Yuan. Yu Xuan Chen catches Zhang Mu Xi stalking Guo Jia Nan and Liu Yuan Yuan. He joins in on the stalking because he likes Liu Yuan Yuan but then he makes it a little too obvious that he’s stalking. Liu Yuan Yuan chases after Yu Xuan Chen. Meanwhile Guo Jia Nan has Zhang Mu Xi's hood in hostage. He punishes her for stalking him. The punishment: to take her to the pet shop where the little cat is. The name of the cat: Xiao Xi Xi. It's her name.
Zhang Mu Xi catches a glimpse of other university students. She tells Guo Jia Nan to not turn around. He's angry because she sounds like she's ashamed to be with him. No, more like it’s pressuring for her to be with the school's hottest boy. On the way back home, he ignores all her attempts to start a conversation. But hey, he still walks her back to the dorms! Before they leave each other, she asks him if he has a partner for the school dance. He doesn't. He doesn't like dancing either. But he lets her be his partner "out of convenience".
[Ep6] Zhang Mu Xi is late for the dance! She was looking for a book she borrowed from the library and if she doesn't return it on time, it'll affect her school credit. She finds the book at the rooftop and unfortunately, she ends up being locked there. Fortunately, Guo Jia Nan comes to her rescue. She's glum that not only did she miss the dance but her school credit is gone too. Guo Jia Nan plays a song on his phone and invites her for a dance on the rooftop. She tells him how much she likes their reunion and their time together. He returns the same compliments but adds that he likes her as a friend.
[Ep7] Guo Jia Nan takes the same photography course as Zhang Mu Xi when his major has nothing to do with photography. He purposely sits next to her. She's still awkward because of his "friend" comment.
They're partners for a project because he asked her. They go on a day trip for the project and Zhang Mu Xi brings a fully packed duffel bag. It's full of food and water. However, their picnic is spoiled by the rain. He gives her his jacket and wipes her face with a napkin. She hums a tune and he compliments how nice it sounds. It's her favourite song (Jay Chou's A Secret I Cannot Tell). Zhang Mu Xi wishes the rain will continue because that way he'll stay next to her. Immediately, the rain stops.
Zhang Mu Xi digs herself in a hole when Guo Jia Nan leaves the video editing to her (he thought she was good at it). Zhang Mu Xi begs a senior for help but there's a condition...

The senior calls "Cut!” Zhang Mu Xi squirms away and returns the remark: "You got fooled."
[Ep9] Yu Xuan Chen asks Zhang Mu Xi for help: he wants a date with Liu Yuan Yuan. And so there's a double date including Guo Jia Nan. Yu Xuan Chen sends Zhang Mu Xi and Guo Jia Nan on an errand.
Guo Jia Nan: You really like peeking at me, don't you?Zhang Mu Xi: Hm? How do you know?Guo Jia Nan: Only you don't know.
A bike comes crashing down their way and he pulls her close to him.
Yu Xuan Chen thinks that spending alone time with Zhang Mu Xi will make Liu Yuan Yuan jealous. Well, it does make someone jealous, actually, make that two. Both Zhang Mu Xi and Guo Jia Nan are jealous of each other. Guo Jia Nan is raging on the inside when he learned Yu Xuan Chen and Zhang Mu Xi had lunch alone.
The double date is effectively ruined but Yu Xuan Chen suggests one more game. The finger folding game.
Yu Xuan Chen says he's never dated. Those who have dated fold; Guo Jia Nan folds.Guo Jia Nan says he's the type who won't let go of the person he loves. The atmosphere tenses up. No one folds because no one will let go of their love.Zhang Mu Xi is the type to turn into an idiot in front of the person she likes. Guo Jia Nan isn't, so he folds.Yu Xuan Chen is too afraid to confess. Those who can confess fold; Guo Jia Nan folds. But can he confess?Guo Jia Nan says there's someone he likes here. Those who don't have one, fold. No one folds.The game ends.
[Ep10] Zhang Mu Xi doesn't know who Guo Jia Nan likes among her and Liu Yuan Yuan. Under Yu Xuan Chen's encouragement, she tries to test Guo Jia Nan but he gives her a cold shoulder. He's still jealous. She thinks Guo Jia Nan likes Liu Yuan Yuan. Heartbroken, Zhang Mu Xi runs out in the rain when she thinks they’re going to have dinner together. But, someone gives her an umbrella. It’s Guo Jia Nan. The one he wants to have dinner with is Zhang Mu Xi. He gives her his jacket and tells her to have dinner with him. When Zhang Mu Xi is back in her dorm to change out of her wet clothes, he texts her to wash up. He doesn’t want to be infected by her. Zhang Mu Xi is confused why her being sick will affect him...lol.
[Ep11] Zhang Mu Xi is determined to stick to Guo Jia Nan like glue so that Liu Yuan Yuan won’t have a chance to confess. When Guo Jia Nan almost sees Liu Yuan Yuan, Zhang Mu Xi quickly slaps his face to turn him away from that direction, haha.
Zhang Mu Xi is racking her brain to keep Guo Jia Nan with her. She even drags him to make cake with her. Her hair is in her face so he brushes her bangs back for her. He holds her hand to decorate the cake with her too.
Guo Jia Nan asks Zhang Mu Xi what’s wrong with her today. She tells him the semi-truth. She wants to spend the whole day with him. Guo Jia Nan smiles and tells her she should have just told him earlier.
It’s night. Zhang Mu Xi thinks Liu Yuan Yuan wouldn’t confess, but she’s wrong. Liu Yuan Yuan waited in front of his dorm to tell him she still likes him, even if he likes Zhang Mu Xi. She has the right to pursue him especially when he’s not even dating Zhang Mu Xi. Liu Yuan Yuan is right. Finding it awkward to wait for Guo Jia Nan, Zhang Mu Xi leaves. But she trips. On flat ground. Lol. Honestly, if Zhang Mu Xi was the second lead, she’d be pretty annoying, haha. Guo Jia Nan ditches Liu Yuan Yuan and runs to Zhang Mu Xi. He lifts her and takes her to the emergency. It’s not that big of deal but because of the way she screamed, he was worried. Now they’re really far from the dormitories. What do they do?
[Ep12] Zhang Mu Xi and Guo Jia Nan stay in a hotel for the night. Zhang Mu Xi is having all sorts of reveries. Meanwhile Guo Jia Nan is cool like a cucumber. He takes the couch and lets her have the bed. Zhang Mu Xi kicks away her blanket and he covers her back up each time. In the morning, he’s actually sleeping right next to her. With her index finger, she traces his nose bridge. Guo Jia Nan wakes up and stares at her. Feeling the tensity, she backs away but he cups the back of her neck to pull her close again. His eyes are on her lips and soon his lips meet hers. Or is that what happens? Let us rewind.
Nothing happened at the hotel. All was a dream. OMG girl!! Stop having such real daydreams!
That doesn’t mean nothing will happen at school! Guo Jia Nan takes care of all the stairs for her by carrying. He also prepares food for her. It’s either the left feet of pigs or the left feet of chickens. Yum. He also helps her with class notes even though it’s not her hands that are injured.
Zhang Mu Xi ruminates all night whether Guo Jia Nan likes her. But if he does, why doesn’t he confess? The same question can be asked to her too.
[Ep13] Guo Jia Nan takes Zhang Yu Xi to shop for clothes. It’s her first time with a guy. He smiles and tells her there’s going to many more chances of that. Her eyes glitter up as she asks him what he means. He flicks her forehead instead of answering her.
They’re on the bus. Zhang Yu Xi listens to her class recording. He compliments her for being studious and she compliments the teacher’s voice for being nice. Guo Jia Nan hovers right next to her ear to listen in. A slightly jealous Guo Jia Nan doesn’t think the voice is better than his. Zhang Mu Xi is still perplexed by his proximity and gives him a slight nod.
Zhang Mu Xi recommends Guo Jia Nan a white T-shirt with love all over it. He wasn’t too keen on it until he sees a girl version of it. He makes her buy one with him.
Guo Jia Nan also buys her a cotton candy because she wanted one. While she’s tasting it, he takes a bite too. The naughty boy looks over at her without saying anything, making her heart fly all over the place. Then he walks away with a smile that she can’t see.
Zhang Mu Xi finally asks him why he asked her out today and who’s the one he likes. He laughs at her for not being able to figure it out. Then a high school alumni bumps into them and misunderstands they’re dating. Zhang Mu Xi clarifies that they’re only friends. Guo Jia Nan’s mood is spoilt. The date is over. Zhang Mu Xi doesn’t know what she did to make him this mad. He tells her that they’re just friends, mind her own business. Zhang Mu Xi is upset now. He’s the one who’s been making her misunderstand with how he treats her. She calls him out for taking pride in making her like him and playing with her. Guo Jia Nan is mad too that she thinks of him like that. Zhang Mu Xi tells him one last thing: "From high school I really liked you. Today, I don’t think you’re worthy of my love” Zhang Mu Xi leaves. Guo Jia Nan hasn’t turned around to see her at all.
[Ep14] Guo Jia Nan waits for Zhang Mu Xi at the cafeteria. She walks by him like he’s oxygen. Liu Yuan Yuan notices something is off with Zhang Mu Xi and comforts her. Liu Yuan Yuan is admirable.
The next morning, Liu Yuan Yuan confronts Guo Jia Nan for Zhang Mu Xi. She lectures him that if he likes someone, he needs to be brave. Doesn’t his heart hurt for how much pain he’s put Zhang Mu Xi through? What’s the point of playing around like this? Liu Yuan Yuan is disappointed she liked him before. Unlike her who’s over Guo Jia Nan, for Zhang Mu Xi, it seems like it has to be him.
Guo Jia Nan asks Zhang Mu Xi to wait for him in the library when he notices her in pain. He runs at top speed to the cafeteria to buy her something easy to digest. However, that’s not what she needs from him. She begs him to stop messing with her. He’s hot one minute and cold the next. It’s torture for her. Guo Jia Nan agrees, “Okay, let’s not be friends then.” He’s not done his sentence and Zhang Mu Xi leaves.
Yu Xuan Chen perseveres with all sorts of surprises. However, Liu Yuan Yuan doesn’t need a nanny. She wants a partner in life. She’s planning to study abroad and asks if he can even accompany her. Yu Xuan Chen gives up.
[Ep15] There’s a surprise event planned for Zhang Mu Xi on the rooftop. It’s the place Guo Jia Nan took her to. Then, he appears with a cake. It’s Zhang Mu Xi’s surprise birthday party. Guo Jia Nan properly confesses. However, Zhang Mu Xi finds it hard to believe him. She’s afraid to believe him. He clarifies that day when he told her he doesn’t want to be friends with her he meant that he wanted her to be his girlfriend. She cries and asks him if he’s serious. He laughs. He liked her since high school. He recalls that day when she tripped right in front of him. He wanted to help her but he was nervous. He's grateful for that day when his basketball hit her. He liked every moment with her. It was her who lightened up his high school years. When he said he dated, it was in his heart with her. She cries. She asks him for a birthday present. He leans in to give her a kiss. .
Liu Yuan Yuan isn’t quite used to Yu Xuan Chen not revolving around her.
One month later. Liu Yuan Yuan is leaving to study abroad for a year. Zhang Mu Xi and Guo Jia Nan are wearing their couple tee to send off Liu Yuan Yuan. She’s looking around for Yu Xuan Chen but he's not here. The bus departs. Finally, Yu Xuan Chen arrives with a suitcase. He runs in front of the bus to stop the driver. He's going abroad too. He spent a month holed up in his room to study for the test so that he can join her.
The different versions of love:
Yu Xuan Chen: Love isn't just sincerity. Love is needing each other, being a match with each other.Liu Yuan Yuan: Love is a habit. The long accompaniment of someone. Being accustomed to having you in my life.Guo Jia Nan: Fortunately, I properly confessed to you. This whole time I thought you understood my heart thus I hid my love for you at the bottom of my heart.Zhang Mu Xi: I think everything is perfectly planned. A girl's teenage years; being young and inexperienced is inevitable. Love and Learning are both important; both require hard work. Actually, first love is best done stealthily.
