Rarely do we get a truly supernatural series! The ending is solid enough that you can watch without fear of heartbreak, though the time-travel elements require a bit of willing acceptance – some things simply are supernatural and that’s it.
The story follows time-traveling letters that alter the fate of a star-crossed romance. For Tang Yi Xun and Ye Hai Tang, loving each other is their way of surviving the impossible. In a twist of fate, it’s their children writing them letters in hopes of saving them. The ML’s journey is especially turbulent, aging his poor… heart so, so badly.
Zheng He Hui Zi’s final crying scene really stood out to me. It shifted how I viewed an entire relationship. There are some powerful tears!
Although the series is compact and emotionally intense, I didn’t always feel the full weight of those emotions myself, even though they go through so much trauma to survive together. That is just me ^^””. Good thing I wasn’t so heartbroken though!
P.S. I still find myself wondering about the fate of a certain couple.
