Part 2: List of Performances
- The Promise [Ep4]
- The Temptation to Go Home
- Sheep Without a Shepherd
- Bad Genius [Ep5]
- Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan
- Quitting
- Protege
- Parasite
- Tiny Times [Ep6]
- Inseparable Bros
- Romance in the Rain
- The Devotion of Suspect X
In Part One each actor was re-graded by our four directors into S, A, and B. A actors get to choose their roles first. S actors get to choose afterwards. If they want to choose a role taken by another A actor, S actors have priority. Thus, A actors must choose carefully in order to not be replaced. B actors do not get to choose. S and A's actors who have chosen their roles will get to choose which B actors they want. If two groups want a B actor then that B actor gets to choose between the two projects. Each skit will be directed by one of the four directors.
Part two is an elimination round. After the performances, the director will choose actors into their team (almost like an audition). Each director has four A cards and two S cards; four directors, six spots each, making a total of 24 actors. 16 actors will be eliminated.
Highlights
- Sun Qian went from the last of the B among the girls to the top of the A group. She gets to choose her role first. It happened to be the role Ren Min wanted. Ren Min who’s an S had the chance to take Sun Qian’s role but she opted for another one.
- Saliva couple chose each other again
- Tang Yi Fei (B) appealed to Shi Bo Yu and Zhang Ming En’s team for a mother role by mentioning how she’s married and a mother of two kids. Ma Su (B) who’s beside her also wants this role who’s not married and has no child is next to her kind of speechless lol. Ma Su also appeals that although she’s not a mother, she has the capability to perform the role well. The boys choose Ma Su. I’d choose Ma Su too. After last round where Tang Yi Fei insisted on her bathtub scene, she just seems too stubborn to work with. That’s just my opinion though.
- Tang Yi Fei was later chosen to be in Huang Yi’s team. The role is a mistress. She made quite a big drama about it but because she’s a B actor, she cannot refuse. Tang Yi Fei gave an interview that she absolutely hated this role. She could literally quit the entire show just because of this role because of how awful this mistress character is.

Directors’ Critique
Short: Good??
Highlights
- Dispute between Chen Kai Ge and Li Cheng Ru: Li Cheng Ru didn’t like this performance and he blamed it on the production. Lo and behold, the director of this is Chen Kai Ge. Dun dun dun. Thus, Chen Kai Ge uses a roundabout way to call him senile and stubborn. In Chen Kai Ge’s words it’s the first Fantasy movie in Chinese history. All the other director’s are pretty much silent and praises the actors for not embarrassing themselves. Apparently that’s a feat already...
- I am team Li Cheng Ru. This performance was boring and awkward but none of the directors were straight to the point. Because this is Chen Kai Ge’s movie and no one wants to offend him? Now, that’s boring.
- Guo Jing Ming compliments Cao Jun’s improvement and likes Yan Zi Dong the best.
- Personally, I thought Cao Jun did the best but I have to agree with one of the directors who said he died too soon. Should have hesitated because it was such a pivotal moment for his character.
Result
Yan Zi Dong: A (Guo Jing Ming)
Undetermined: Cai Qi and Cao Jun. Nooooo Cao Jun!
2. The Temptation to Go Home
Actors/Actresses
Huang Yi: Lin Pin Ru
Sun Yang: Hong Shi Xian
Director
Er Dong Sheng
Directors’ Critique
Short: Good
Highlights
- Tang Yi Fei was supposed to be in this group but she forfeited. She really quit because of the hate for this mistress role. Interestingly her husband was the actor for the male lead (Sun Yan’s Hong Shi Xian).
- During the middle of the performance, Sun Yang was supposed to be cuffed but the cuffs broke making the performance rather awkward. None of the directors blamed them for that malfunction but they saw how it affected their performance.
- Huang Yi was very disappointed in her own acting after the cuff incident.
- Er Dong Sheng said this wasn’t their best run
- Guo Jing Ming didn’t like this. It went from happy to revenge style. He felt lost in the transition. Wouldn’t that be Er Dong Sheng’s responsibility since he's the director?
- Li Cheng Ru and Chen Kai Ge compliment Sun Yang to be the perfect male trash, a convincing cheater. Li Cheng Ru is like your voice even sounds like a cheater. Haha. Is this really suppose to be a compliment?
- I thought this was a fun performance. Very theatrical and dramatic. A bit awkward in the beginning. I didn’t think the cuff affected their performance that much. They still got to where they needed to be.
Result
Huang Yi: A (Er Dong Sheng)
Sun Yang: A (Zhao Wei)
Er Dong Sheng and Zhao Wei are being consistent with their votes. They chose the same people as Part 1.

3. Sheep Without a Shepherd
Actors/Actresses
Ni Hong Jie: A Yun
Yang Zhi Gang: Li Wei Jie
Director
Chen Kai Ge
Directors’ Critique
Short: Good
Highlights
- Li Cheng Ru is the only director that found this boring. He also thought Myolie didn’t do nearly as well as her first role.
- Er Dong Sheng is “speechless” in a good way.
- Guo Jing Ming agrees with Li Cheng Run BUT only a tiny part. Dong Si Yi’s reaction at her pivotal moment was too loose. That was her moment to shine but she didn’t use it to her advantage. Guo Jing Ming compliments all of the other actors.
- In the performance there were three pivotal points in which Myolie Wu took off her hat. All were to signify a weakness in her character. It was all planned by Chen Kai Ge.
- Doing rehearsals, Chen Kai Ge was harsh on this team and on Ni Hong Jie. He doesn’t want her to act out an ordinary mother (nine of ten mothers would probably act the way she did). He wants her to act out the eleventh mother. Ni Hong Jie is like wtf? That’s my interpretation of her reaction but obviously she can’t be rude to this director. She cried a lot for this because who the heck knows what the eleventh mother would be like. It took her a long long time to get her role down and she finally got Chen Kai Ge’s approval. Chen Kai Ge recognizes she wants to be an elite actress.
Result
Myolie Wu: A (Chen Kai Ge)
- She got an S from Guo Jing Ming and an A from Chen Kai Ge. Since she chose Chen Kai Ge, she gave up an S which means it’s a main character role in the next project. Guo Jing Ming even urged her to choose Chen Kai Ge because the S he gave her was a recognition of her skills. Translation: Guo Jing Ming doesn’t actually want her, lol.
Undetermined: Ni Hong Jie / Dong Si Yi / Yang Zhi Gang
- There are four actors in this who were exceptional (praised by the directors) but only one actor got offered an A or S card. That basically tells me none of the directors actually liked this work but didn’t have the guts to insult Chen Kai Ge. Personally, agree with Li Cheng Ru. I could not appreciate this skit. It was SO LONG, SO BORING. I lost focus in first two minutes. I thought the directors were so off on this one.

[Commentary]
[Li Cheng Ru vs. The World] Unlike Part 1 where I didn’t agree with Li Cheng Ru as much, I totally agree with him this episode. I thought The Promise was bad. I think Li Cheng Ru is the only one who didn’t get the memo that Chen Kai Ge directed the original movie because all three directors complimented the group for their “effort” instead of their acting skills. Rolls my eyes.
It was the same in The Sheep without a Shepherd. I agreed with Li Cheng Ru. It was SO boring and SO long. Apparently Chen Kai Ge inserted a lot of detail in this and I get it if he explains it but man was it excruciatingly long to watch. Any detail he inserted went over my head. First and foremost, the skits should hold the audience’s interest. This was not it. But the directors all take Chen Kai Ge’s side and rave their acting. That’s fine with me but if they’re going to praise, show it with action! None of the other actor’s except Myolie Wu got offered anything! Huh?
[Cao Jun] I really thought he did well in The Promise. When it was his turn to speak, I was the most engaged.
