[Drama Info] This one comes from the director of Lighter and Princess, Because of Love (2022), My Sunshine, and plenty more of that angsty rom(-com) goodness. But the screenwriting comes from Chen Yan and Chen Shu who wrote The Stage (2020) and The Hope (2023) respectively. Both are very different genres from what Second Chance Romance looks like.
Wallace Chung isn't unfamiliar with this crew. It's his third ML drama with director Liu Jun Jie and second ML drama with the author, Qing Shan Luo Tu. The first was Memories of Love.

The MIL/grandmother gets Alzheimer’s as her “punishment,” so everyone around her pampers her like she's fragile. This woman is the reason our CP were split for twelve years — and at the end she gets to enjoy her leisurely retirement arc without ever fully apologizing.
Unfortunately, Wang Shu Han’s younger boyfriend is actually a sweet man genuinely in love with Wang Shu Han. He's young, and rich and drives Uber for a hobby.
The twist villain: Wang Shu Han – the FL’s bestie who spent years quietly resenting her. She teamed up with the MIL/grandmother (again) and kept the truth about FL’s son hidden. Her punishment: a public apology. Then the show gives her a boutique so she can sell luxury (second-hand?) handbags.
