[Ep2] From flight to fight, our leads decide to try and go head to head with the stranger in their room(s). However, time changes again and separates them.
Both of the tenets in their own time go to question the landlord. When speaking with CJL he is adamant there was no one who lived in the building with that description and believes she is trying to scam him. But when HZY speaks with the him, he recalls his conversation with CJL and quickly runs away. HZY knows the landlord is hiding something and guesses the girl he saw is a previous tenant.
When our leads unite again during the next evening they immediately argue over who the apartment really belongs too. When the contracts are pulled out HZY states the home is his because they are in 2022. He concludes she must have some sort of memory loss if she believes they were still in 2021. They go to try and find other tenants in the building to clarify what year it was and confirm the current tenant. Before they could come to a conclusion CJL disappears making HZY question reality all together

HZY sees the change between time and space before his very eyes. He remembers meeting CJL; but two different versions. The first ‘real’ version, and an updated one where she calls him out for sneaking in ‘her’ house.

Our leads finally accept that they are between time and space and exist in worlds four months apart; CJL in 2021 and HZY in 2022.In the present, HZY is desperate to know what happened during his infamous case that caused him to get fired. He goes to visit his friend whom he was representing (the one who had stated she had committed perjury during the trial). The older brother of his friend says the only thing that would be good for her now is to turn back time and for her to have never gotten married. HZY realizes that may now be a possibility with the help of CJL.
When our leads meet again they are much more…cordial. She cleans and makes him a cake while he is very polite and provides wine. They also go over house rules for their 40 minute nightly encounters. He agrees to everything hoping to ask for a favor to help his friend. But things don’t go as planned when she accidentally ruins his shirt causing them both to argue and want to move out ASAP. Couldn’t hold it in for even one hour lol.

The next day He Zheng Yu realizes his plans would be for not if he moved. He decides to cook her a special dinner as an apology for fighting the night before. They appear in another compromising position once the clock strikes 10:06pm (>▽<)  |

She sees right through his ploy and decides to mess with him. But at work the one being messed with is her. She is doing well, getting noticed by her bosses, and making most of her fellow employees jealous in the process.The past and present continue to collide with our past FL meeting our past ML and arguing with him, again. 2022 ML tries to apologize but the future keeps changing with each new encounter.

CJL accidentally gets her quasi-boss drunk and has to bring him back to her apartment. She realizes the time is 10:02pm and tries to rush him out the door but he can’t find his phone! (°ー°〃) Time changes and the wonderful meal HZY had prepared appears. Thinking the meal is for him, CJL has no choice but to ask her boss to join her for dinner.
HZY is not loving the ‘flirting’ happening in his home and threatens to expose himself if she doesn’t help call over Jirong; his actress friend marrying CJL’s guy bff whom later has the divorce case that causes all of his current problems.

Ep6]
CJL believes HZY is in love with Jirong, hence why he is so interested in her impending marriage. CJL is anxious that she has to call Jirong over as she does not want to interfere in her best friends (Jiang Shenghao’s) relationship. But what she doesn’t realize is that someone is already plotting against them. The who and why is still iffy but my money is on the Uncle. He seems sketchy.
Jirong finally visits during the time change. CJL still does not understand why HZY is being so callous towards their friends future marriage. He decides to tell her the truth and pulls up articles detailing the messy divorce to-come.
With the truth revealed CJL reprimands her bff in the past; and Jirong in the future apologizes again to HZY, continuing to state her fiancé was innocent and it was all her fault. HZY now feels conflicted and decides to apologize to CJL. He learns after that she will go to Jiang Shenghao tomorrow and give him a big hug and apologize too for beating him up when he didn’t cheat after all. Hearing this HZY gives CJL a hug to show his proof of sincerity (as she said hugs make apologies more sincere). Good for him! He listened lol, I love it.
Time for the wedding rehearsal! Back in 2021 our leads past selves are grouped together for the wedding. You’d think he would have remembered her from the wedding in the future but I guess no? Their meeting does not go over well. Past HZY is a jerk and CJL declares (in her head) that he is nothing like his future self who is much better.

Wu A Wen (Jirong’s Uncle/Brother) starts getting phone call after call from Jirong’s agencies and contracts cancelling them now that she is getting married. His tune regarding the wedding changes…I knew it!
Back in the future our male lead gets a disturbing call that Jirong is dead. When he arrives at the scene Wu A Wen is blaming He Zheng Yu for taking Jirong to see her husband. We then see the husband come out in handcuffs looking completely deflated. He turns on the brother, now suspecting him of his wife’s death.
When time again collides HZY tells CJL that Jirong has died. He tells her everything that happened from the wedding on that lead to her suicide (or more likely, murder). CJL makes it her mission to change Jirong’s fate and even successfully changes the events at the wedding. But that one change wasn’t enough to cause a different future. HZY is still very impressed with her efforts and calls her a female warrior AND cooks her dinner! I love them. Curious as to why he always treats her so well she asks if he secretly likes her, which he adamantly (and rudely) lists many reason as to why he would never.

Future He Zheng Yu is busy trying to find future Chen Kixen. But he should really be looking for future Chen Jia Lan. Where is she??! We haven’t seen her at all and her bff is possibly going to prison for murder…
To stop Chen Kixen from pursuing Jiang Sheng Hao and change the future, CJL tries to push her onto the past HZY. When asking how to best pursue him and his ideal type he describes our female lead to a T. Interesting considering the episode before he was so adamant that he could never like a person like CJL…But the past HZY is having none of it and finds CJL and CK ridiculous. With his past self so unhelpful, they decide future HXY should step in to assist (making CJL drunk and sad).

It turns out HZY was using his time with Chen Kixen to show her that he knows all about her secret relationships and could easily expose her; drowning her with legal fees. Learning this, CJL is much happier.
Back in 2021 CJL is hoping to monitor her bff and keep him from accidentally being involved in any type of scandal. Unfortunately, her plan backfires and she becomes the scandal. On the plus side, she is beginning to discover her true (romantic) feelings for HZY.

[Ep10] Future HZY has entered 2021! He goes to find CJL who is being chased by the past HZY for knowing all of his personal information (that his future self told her!).
Once our leads are together again they go to see the alive Jirong from 2021. To explain their unexpected and emotional visit they blurt out that they are dating. To make things clear for the (very confused/frustrated) past HZY, they decide to bring him to the apartment to meet his future self. However, we learn time does not overlap when the past and present versions of themselves are in the same place at the ‘same time’.
Future HZY plans to visit future CJL. FINALLY!! Took you long enough! But he soon discovers she is no longer at her place of work and is supposedly dating Mr. Mu (her old mentor and his friend/acquaintance). After hearing this he heads home hoping to find the past CJL. Time overlaps again and they have their first kiss! It was all well and good until she flips him over saying “I want to hear you say you like me first”. As a girl who is all about words of affirmation, can’t blame her lol. Poor guy thought he did the romantic answer by kissing her. At dinner he tells her that he heard she was seeing Mr. Mu in the future, which she laughs and says even if that was the case they just kissed today so that future has definitely changed. Love ourselves a confident woman who knows what (and who) she wants!

Jirong’s brother is being hounded by debt collectors, making him more suspicious. (He originally owed 2 million but 4 months later racked it up to 8 mil; and that is with the past ML giving him money to pay off the first debt). 2021 HZY and CJL team up to gather more information. 2022 HZY attempts to join them when time overlaps but the second the two ML’s are in the same space, they go back to their correct years.
For whatever reason future HZY can’t say the words “I like you” out loud, pissing everyone off. Me! I am everyone! And CJL, but honestly I might be more desperate to hear it at this point.
Jirong’s brother admits to being a gambler and causing his sister stress, including wanting her marriage to end so she could keep working. But he swears up and down that he had nothing to do with her death. Idk man if it was a suicide I’d say you’re a pretty high factor as to why…

Ep12]
ML’s assistant (and only friend) loses Chen Kixen (in 2022). She goes off to meet Jirong’s sketchy brother, but things do not go as planned. Soon after Jirong’s brother is arrested for the kidnapping and attempted murder of Chen Kixen.
Meanwhile, HZY has set up a sweet surprise (literally and figuratively) for our FL to finally confess his feelings. But due to the kidnapping he was stuck being interviewed at the police station and never made it to her.
The truth is finally revealed about how Jirong died. Her brother thought he killed her accidentally (he did) but she didn’t actually die, she instead had a concussion. Later Jirong fell in a pool and drowned due to her previous injuries.
We have a confession!!! Though I still agree with HZY that the kiss totally counted as a confession; actions>words.

Ep13]
2021 ML continues to be bombarded by people who have had interactions with his 2022 self. He begins to question if CJL was telling the truth about a ‘future him’. I have been dying for this moment! The actor who plays our ML does a great job at portraying both versions of himself. There is a clear distinction between the two characters. Meanwhile, 2022 ML is sad future CJL still has not come to visit him. 2021 CJL insists she has no idea either because she is 100% loyal to him. Idk girl looking a bit suspicious…
Our leads FINALLY go out to find the 2022 CJL. However, her phone number is not working and she is no longer at her company. 2022 ML discovers 2022 FL was in a hit and run car accident putting her in a coma. ⊙o⊙ I take back every bad thing I (thought) and said.
Everything comes to light once this news is discovered. Our 2022 ML goes back to the accident scene, realizing he was there the night our FL was being taken in an ambulance. She was the girl in the ambulance we saw in Ep 1! This is also the night/place he found her origami keychain and took it home.

Jirong’s brother confesses to being the one that hit future CJL, causing her coma. 2022 HZY decides not to tell 2021 CJL.
2021 HZY wants to contact his future self. He pays for a phone plan for the time period four months from then, but when he tries to text himself he simply gets the reply “busy”. I’m dead. Even HZY’s future self has no time for his past self’s nonsense lol.

In 2022 HZY is criticized by Jirong’s hubby/FL bff for agreeing to be the lawyer of their killer/attempted killer. I whole heartedly agree. The only reason I give a pass is because he is trying to change the past and being close to the perpetrator is helpful.

Our FL discovers the truth regarding her future accident. Knowing what will happen she decides to live her present (past?) life to her fullest. Our leads are even honest with each other and promise to change their ill fates. Deja vu anyone? Feels like they’ve said this once or twice before.
Unfortunately, a series of events makes our FL believe they can never change the future. She tries to break up to spare HZY future pain. Why do people always have to break up to spare the other pain?? You know that hurts too!
[Ep16] 2021 HZY helps our leads come back together. Sort of lol. He mainly stated she was worrying over nothing and that nothing bad could happen to a ‘man like that’..aka him. When she tried again to visit 2022 CJL she discovers that her future self seems to sense her past self’s presence. Her monitors go off repeatedly and 2022 HZY vows that he will never give up on CJL. |

Back in 2022 our ML tries everything he can to cheer up our FL. He takes on more cases in hopes of earning plenty of money to pay for her medical expenses going forward. He also filled their shared home with drawings of their past/present/and future together, making anyone who’s watching cry. My heart!!

Back in 2021CHL visits her bff. She breaks down crying over her relationship with HZY. Her friend tries to understand but she isn’t making much sense as she’s omitting things about the future.
When time overlaps and our leads are back together, 2022 HZY comforts CHL stating he got her message at the hospital and is in agreement. She says all I gave you was a blank sheet of paper meaning we have no future. However, he says a blank sheet of paper means that their future is full of infinite possibilities. 2022 HZY has had such amazing growth since the first episode. I think I am falling in love with him lolol. If CHL won’t appreciate him, I definitely will! He goes on to explain that if she refuses to come to him in 2022 he will come to her in 2021 everyday. This whole interaction took place at CJL’s best friends home where the evil brother in law catches our leads kissing through a closed window. But the curtain blocks their faces only showing their silhouette, making him believe it was CJL and his sister’s husband kissing. He uses this opportunity to take photos and release them to the press calling CJL the new mistress.
2021 HZY realizes what has happened and is very frustrated with his future self asking “how much trouble are these two going to keep causing me”. I can answer that! A lot.
[Ep18] Everything is a mess and Jirong feels betrayed by her husband and CJL, though deep down she really doesn’t believe the rumors.
In 2021, HZY is kicked out of his home so that our two lovebirds can have some time together.

Our leads have started a video blog just for themselves to keep track of their relationship and time together. While CJL was reminiscing on her recent time with 2022 HZY, 2021 HZY returns home, exasperated.

Once back in 2022 we see the cheating scandal has been resolved again. (And all thanks to 2021 HZY continuing to reluctantly play the hero lol). However, the future is still the same with Jirong getting divorced. 2022 HZY starts to question if they really can change the future or if fate can never be changed.
In 2021 the newlywed couple continue to argue, fighting over all that has happened in the past few months since they’ve been married. Meanwhile, Jirong’s evil brother keeps playing the victim. With his role in the cheating scandal publicly exposed he completely loses his mind and attacks CJL, knocking her out cold. I jumped! It was so unexpected lol. He has been a selfish jerk, and we knew he could kill accidentally, but now he is homicidal..

2022 HZY comes to the rescue! He stops the evil brother in law and gets CJL to the hospital. She is not badly injured but 2021 HZY pushes her to sue as that would take a huge player out of the game, maybe enough to finally change the future.
Jirong is now fully aware of all the bad things her brother has done due to his gambling addiction. She realizes she can’t continue to indulge him and decides it is time for him to face retribution for his actions.
Back in 2022, HZY begins to see flashbacks of the major events that took place after the arrest. He remembers CJL’s promise to visit him in 2022 the moment things change. But the next morning it is Jirong at his door, not CJL. This news is still happy as Jirong had passed away up until this change, meaning maybe future CJL is safe as well!
BUT SHE BRINGS GRAVE NEWS!! CJL had passed away three months prior due to a mysterious car accident. (」ﾟﾛﾟ)｣NOOOooooo━ Same location just an earlier date, but now the driver is unknown. Idky and it is based on nothing I can back up or support, but I feel like it was her boss. He’s clearly smitten and felt uncomfortable seeing her so lovey-dovey with HZY, but that is a giant leap from jealous to murderous.
Jirong and her hubby still divorce. I kept hoping for this girl to finally express herself and have more agency, but I’m still sad that it doesn’t seem like their relationship will ever end happily.

Believing that someone will have to die for Jirong to live, CJL decides to accept her fate and disappear. Are people always this self sacrificing? I can totally see making this choice for a family member or one of my closest friends, but she just met Jirong!
When time overlaps 2022 HZY decides to contact his past self, hoping he can help find CJL before it is too late.

When 2021 HZY reaches CJL’s grandmas home he learns that she has been missing since the day prior due to a terrible storm. He joins the rescue team and finds her! Every romantic interaction with them is so interesting. It’s her boyfriend, but not her boyfriend…the cheating vibes are real but also fake. 2021 HZY is starting to discover why his future self is in love with CJL. He also calls her out for sacrificing herself when she still has plenty of people in her life who would be hurt should she go, like her grandmother. I’m starting to think 2021 HZY is the true main character of this show, I love him lol.

With grandma on HZY’s side, she helps push her granddaughter to reconcile. Grandma makes a phone call pretending to be visiting CJL’s apartment. When CJL arrives she realizes the past/future HZY and her grandmother colluded to get our leads alone again. CJL immediately leaves when time overlaps and tells future HZY to forget her. Thankfully, past HZY was waiting outside to not only stop her but also reprimand her for using love as a weapon. Slow clap for past HZY for saying everything the viewers are thinking.

Jirong officially divorces her ‘husband’. I use this word very lightly because honestly how long were they really together? I also find it so weird she did not tell anyone what she was doing and simply invited them over to witness the divorce signing, on HZY’s birthday! Girl.
Our leads discover a sexual harassment case from 2021 may be a clue as to why someone is after CJL in the future.

2021 HZY falls at lightening speed for CJL after seeing her try on a wedding dress. The staff at the bridal shop could see the love he had for her and CJL overheard their comments. It is always so awkward when our leads have two versions of themselves. Cheating?? Not cheating?? The line is definitely a bit grey lol.
The prime suspect in the sexual assault case (Mr. Gao) ‘coincidentally’ (no one’s buying that) shows up to the restaurant where CJL and HZY are eating lunch. When he begins a conversation with our 2021 lead, CJL quietly takes out her phone to record everything. Mr. Gao begins to list all of things he can provide (bribe) HZY with if he joins his company. When that doesn’t work, he decides to take a more sinister approach. As Mr. Gao is subtly threatening HZY’s parents we see that CJL isn’t the only one recording the interaction between the two men. Our leads realize this is the incident that causes HZY to officially lose his job in the future. HZY calls Mr. Gao's bluff and calls his parents before losing his temper. Once learning that his family is safe he was able to calmly remind Mr. Gao that his actions will have consequences under criminal law.
After the failed attempt at the restaurant the timeline begins to change. Mr. Gao decides to use public opinion against HZY and has a fellow employee accuse him of taking hush money to stop the sexual assault case. They went so far as to hide the money in a bank card shuffled with HZY’s business cards. The gang (both past and future) decide to use Mr. Gao’s tricks against him.
Short but important parts this episode;
For some reason this guy cannot move on from Jirong. If it were me I think I would be relieved to be out of this marriage ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ Jirong looks at him like a sad puppy being dropped off at doggy daycare.
They are getting married!! So many cute sentiments being said from one to the other. Unfortunately, I can only focus on this HIDEOUS dress and veil. The wedding is short lived as their time together is limited.

Dooms day is approaching and our leads are reluctant for their time together to come to an end.
Back in 2021 HZY and his client confidently leave the police station after dropping off evidence proving her innocence (and Mr. Gao’s crime). But HZY’s boss (Sun Defeng) and Mr. Gao are determined to bring him down.
The bribery scandal begins in 2021. As 2022 HZY gets flashbacks of his new memories, he realizes Sun Defeng is the cause of CJL’s accident. CJL exposes Sun Defeng’s crimes and work place romance, making her his next target.
Realizing everything that is about to happen, 2022 HZY takes 2022 Sun Defeng to 2021. He reveals to him everything and implores him to do the right thing and explain what really happened the day of CJL’s accident. Sun Defeng comes clean but time changes before he could warn CJL.
I would like to point out that if I was the FL I would not be so nonchalant about going out and meeting dangerous people on the day I know I mysteriously die. How about call it a sick day? Stay home? Lock the doors and shut the curtains? Maybe have 2021 HZY hangout for the day? Anything but meet the one person I know has been part of a sexual assault case as well as framing my boyfriend, and oh yeah let’s not forget that we threatened him the day before! Seems like a great way to DIE.
Thankfully 2021 HZY has a brain and follows CJL around despite her strong protests. Again, am I the only one who thinks she is crazy? But it turns out our two HZY’s hatched a plan for 2022 HZY to take CJL’s place at the meeting with Sun Defeng. 2021 HZY also admits to being in love with CJL.
Time changes and our FL is finally safe from the car crash! Past and present HZY collide, becoming one unit. We see flashbacks of 2022 HZY’s and CJL’s memories as 2021 HZY is consumed with their past and future interactions all at once. His headache worsens and he begins to see memories of HZY now bleeding on the road in the same spot CJL was originally hit. I knew he should’ve gotten out of the road! Why did he stand there so long! CJL is denial and screams at HZY to leave her alone (actually she said not to be a third wheel but that felt so harsh lol). She waits at home until the time overlaps in the evening. But when that time comes, nothing happens. She remains in 2021 and the time overlaps are officially over.

The (all in one?) HZY appears before CJL right as she faints. Now having all of his 2022 memories he begins to soften and behave more like his future self CJL fell in love with.
Sun Defeng (from 2021) is shocked to see HZY alive knowing he had killed him the night before. We learn that Sun Defeng hit HZY on the back of the head with a large stone to purposefully kill him. After, the body of 2022 HZY disappeared before his eyes causing him to run away frightened and in denial about what had happened. CJL heard everything between the two men and demands HZY for answers.
After learning the truth CJL refuses to believe this HZY is the same as the one she has known. I’m slightly confused bc for so long they tried to have 2022 CJL visit 2022 HZY before they knew she was in a coma…how is this different? HZY plays hardball and gets grandma involved. The same mystical light appears like when 2022 HZY collided with his 2021 self. This time, he visits CJL. He tells her to embrace the current him as he will always be by her side if she lets him.
Time continues and we see our leads continue to excel in their respective careers. However, things seemed to have stalled with their relationship. HZY admired CJL from afar (a bit creepily lol) and continues the tradition of gifting her lollipops. However, around friends and colleagues they pretend to still be a normal couple. Everyone comments on how much HZY has changed. Later, he shows her a video that 2022 HZY had left behind for CJL. This double relationship is starting to hurt my heart and head. But current HZY begins to talk about past memories embracing them as his own. The more they banter the more CJL can see the HZY before her is the same person as the one she has been mourning. She finally lets go of her pain and embraces her future with the HZY before her. The show concludes with him proposing to her (again) and CJL saying a very happy and definitive yes.
***oh yeah and the side couple gets back together, I think. If anyone cares. I didn’t.

[First Impression ] Please do not mistake my INSANELY SLOW recapping for boredom. Life has been extremely busy (per the usual lol) and I have not been able to recap as quickly as I would’ve liked. I only have positive things to say so far about this drama! It made a wonderful first impression. Our male lead especially does an amazing job of going back and forth between the distinctive/different personalities of his past and future self. You can always tell right away which version he is playing the moment he steps on screen.

[A Highlight] For whatever reason my memorable scene is.....anything with 2022 HZY acting dismissive to his past self. Gold!
[Review & Rating] It was truly a great drama with an interesting take on space/time. Even with needing to take a pause from recapping I truly felt compelled to finish this drama. (Sadly my grandpa has been sick and life in general was paused for myself and family for awhile).
Our leads were amazing in their roles, especially the ML. My only complaint would be that the drama seemed to take a strange turn in the last few episodes regarding our FL and her views on the past/future/present ML. They are all the same person but for whatever reason the writers decided to really emphasize their differences making the romance aspect a bit confusing. I wish they kept their earlier premise of understanding that the future and past versions are all the same (like when they were searching for the future FL and her past self kept assuring the ML that her future self will be just as devoted and in love with him).
