Gu Cong Bei sends Jin Rong Rong home (because she asked for it). The passenger seatbelt is stuck. She wakes up at this precise moment. Smiling, she flicks the button to send her seat backwards, pulling him down with her. Ou~ Helplessly, he follows her down. “Wait. I’m helping you with the seatbelt. The car has to start soon.” Starting the car means to have sex in Chinese, but obviously, he meant car car and obviously Show pans away from the scene.
Gu Cong Bei puts Jin Rong Rong to bed. She won’t let him leave. For a week, she visited the bar just to see him. He’s flustered. She’s not done. “Now that you’re here, come.” She pulls him down and kisses him again.
In the morning, Gu Cong Bei wakes up naked in Jin Rong Rong’s bed. She assures him she will take responsibility for him (after all, she’s an heiress to a large company). She even prepared him breakfast. She offers to send him home. He checks the time and politely asks to be dropped off at school. She shrieks, “School?!”. Did our CEO sleep with a minor?! Hahaha.
Epilogue: Jin Rong Rong did spend a week at the bar to watch Gu Cong Bei’s performance on stage despite her busy schedule.
[Ep2] Jin Rong Rong slams the break when Gu Cong Bei tells her to go to a high school. She’s half wailing as she exclaims, “Highschool?! You’re a high school student? Why are you not studying and going to nightclubs?!” Hahahaha. He meant to go to that high school and then take that route to that university.
Jin Rong Rong slams the brake again. Because he told her that she took the initiative at night. She dies inside and shrieks, “How is that even possible?!” Gu Cong Bei has had enough. The guy values his life. She must still have a hangover. He’ll take the bus instead. She calls her driver too. The girl values her life too.
By the way Jing Rong Rong is a 28 year old Motae Solo.
Jin Rong Rong agrees to a blind date with Gu Family’s three brothers because if she marries before her own brother, then she will inherit 80% of Jin Family. Jin Rong Rong doesn’t care who she marries, until she realizes the third brother of Gu Family is Gu Cong Bei. After she confirms that he’s single and hasn’t made a marriage pledge to anyone else, she decides on him. “Let’s marry!” The two older brothers disagree in unison. Jin Rong Rong hooks onto Gu Cong Bei’s arm and declares, “Sorry, but it was love at first sight.”
Epilogue: Last night, she puked on him.
Gu Cong Bei rejects her. 1) He’s not interested in marrying right now. 2) Once he does marry, he doesn’t intend to divorce. 3) He knows what happened last night (puking) and he knows that she doesn’t need to take responsibility. Before he leaves, he switches their drinks again. He gives her back the warm coffee and takes the iced drink. Ou, he noticed she took out the ice in her drinks in Ep1.
Jin Rong Rong asks her secretary (Qiu Bi) where her glass cup is. Qiu Bi is short for Qiu Bi Te which is the Chinese spelling of Cupid. She vaguely remembers breaking the glass cup last night. She peeks at the bottom of her new ceramic cup. There’s a sticky note underneath. It's from Gu Cong Bei. He switched the cup into non-glass so that it’s safer. Sweet and warm boy.
Jing Rong Rong’s memories of the night with Gu Cong Bei are evoked. She had bi-donged him, bed-donged him, and car-donged him. LMAO. She donged him in all sorts of ways. He must think she’s a pervert now.
Well, the next day, she proposes! He must think she’s a pervert and a weirdo.
[Ep4] In utter embarrassment, Gu Cong Bei speed walks away. Jin Rong Rong chases after him in her heels. “Gu tongxue, don’t run, you’re already surrounded by my love!” Hahaha. Now he runs at full speed. But wait! She still has a ring to give him! Lol.
She twists her leg, and he can’t help but go back to her. He scoops her in his arms. She leans into his chest. “Your heart is beating fast. Really, it is! Dong! Dong! Dong!” (Bi-Dong, Car-Dong, Bed-Dong!) But really, his heart isn’t on his right side.
Gu Cong Bei settles her down on a bench. Jin Rong Rong doesn’t let him leave. “I need to marry and I hope the person I marry is you.” He wants to know why it has to be him. She replies, “If I say that at the bar, I fell in love with you at first sight, will you believe me?” A tear trickles down her cheek. He takes her hand off of him and walks away.
But Gu Cong Bei is back with a bike and a pair of slippers. He changes her heels for her. Most importantly, he accepts her marriage proposal. “Let's marry.”
Why did he suddenly accept? When he walked away to find a bike, he was already smiling because of her confession. He wanted to know she was marrying him out of love and not responsibility. And oh, he’s the one who fell in love with her at first sight at the bar (before she fell for him)! Jin Rong Rong has yet to know.
Qiu Bi gives Dad Jin all the love updates. Dad Jin gives Qiu Bi a raise.
As her hands wander around, he suddenly turns to face her. He was awake. I don’t know how he can be sleeping. He asks, “What are you doing?” I swear she was in your pants to look for your ID.
But Gu Cong Bei still makes dinner for her (without a kitchen). He falls asleep waiting, aw. She’s finally back, but he’s a little upset and leaves to sleep, but she takes him to the bathroom first. She personally went shopping to buy daily essentials and everything is in pairs (e.g. toothbrush, towels). He likes that she chose them in person. She also bought him a cup that matches the one he bought her. 
Jin Rong Rong has one last present for him. It’s a cake to celebrate this important day. It’s not just their marriage, it’s also his birthday. She urges him to quickly make a wish. His birthday will be over in seconds! There’s tears in his eyes. His wish already came true. He kisses her. The clock strikes 12.
In the car, Jin Rong Rong dreams of (almost) kissing Gu Cong Bei. She’s that desperate and she also doesn’t know how to advance their relationship so that her husband will make babies with her..
[Ep8] Gu Cong Bei lies that he’s doing homework on her computer. Jin Rong Rong doesn’t suspect him because she’s too busy dying inside. How could she think of having a child with him, when he’s a child doing homework? LMAO.
A little kid sells them flowers, citing its benefits in making babies. Kid has potential in marketing. Jin Rong Rong buys all of it and she gives him one. Gu Cong Bei can’t help but smile. Ah, but the bouquet evokes a traumatic memory. He clutches his head in pain. It turns out he was beaten when he was 17. A nail drove into his skull. Presumably, he was beaten by his step-brothers, who currently have all the inheritance.
There’s a hilarious closet game happening. The secretaries, Qiu Bi and Wu You Yong, are inside, taking pictures of the couple. Wu You Yong works for Jin Xi Chen. His surname sounds like “Not” and his name means “Useful”. He’s 'Not Useful’ and he lives up to his name. Qiu Bi wants love-pictures for Dad Jin and thinks Wu You Yong wants the same, but the latter actually wants incriminating photos. And omg, Gu Cong Bei is still being suspicious. He’s installing something in Jin Rong Rong’s laptop. Liang Jing Jing is in the closet too purely because she’s unlucky. She might as well bring out her phone to join the paparazzi party.
[Ep11] The land Gu Cong Bei gave up bidding has indications of subsidence. Jin Rong Rong knew! She’s still mad because he lied to her though. Gu Cong Bei confesses the truth. He needed to fool his brothers into believing he approached Jin Rong Rong for the bidding. Once the brothers go bankrupt, he can protect his mother’s inheritance. He wasn’t sure if she was willing to trust him so he didn’t tell her. He apologizes for that. He was also certain that what he was doing wasn’t going to harm her.
Uh oh, there are divorce papers on the table! Gu Cong Bei tells “Miss Jin” that he’s not signing it. Every little thing is pissing off Jin Rong Rong, and now it’s the way he calls her. It’s the way he always called her. He insists on calling her “Jin xiaojie” because she calls him “Gu tongxue”. It’s out of respect. She scoffs. If he respects her then why did he sleep with her the first night? He refutes. She told him she was cold and she kept crying and whining. He took care of her the whole night. Jin Rong Rong is taken back but makes another comeback. He still followed her home!
Gu Cong Bei demands if she even remembered what she did to him. She was the one who flirted with him. He walks up to her, backing her down to the couch to emulate the bidong she gave him (now a couch-dong). He falters at the kiss, though, but slowly he approaches her lips....
[Ep12] Jin Rong Rong's heater isn’t working. She jump-plops onto his bed, and wraps herself in his blanket. She tells him to go to her room. He’s not going. Who knows if she set a trap there. He sleeps next to her, but she’s not speaking. Suddenly, she surrounds him with her love blanket.
He’s stuck in her embrace. He starts to apologize about the Long Island Iced Tea. What are we even arguing about LOL.
Jin Rong Rong was actually asleep. When she wakes up and sees him, she screams and kicks him off the bed. He’s like “Jin Rong Rong, are you sick?!” Oh. He called her by name. She finally tells him about her heater and shoos him to her room. He’s a tad upset. He realizes his function to her is like a bed-warmer. The cutest bed-warmer out there! But then he’s all smiles when he finds her picture. “You used to like ice cream. You were much cuter back then.” But why is it that he actually has a memory of the picture? Ouuu! They have a past! And they both don’t remember it.
Jin Rong Rong has an anxiety attack. The heater isn’t working in his room either. She breaks down crying in fear. Gu Cong Bei throws a blanket over both of them and holds her to sleep. In the morning, she wakes up in his warm embrace. She smiles and kisses his cheek.
Second couple: Jin Xi Chen is drunk. He’s sad that he’s an outsider in the family. He gave Dad Jin a background check on Gu Cong Bei, but Dad Jin burned it in front of him. He happens to be at Liang Jing Jing’s bar. After she accidentally whacks him with her hair, he falls unconscious over her and so she drags him somewhere. 
[Ep13] Liang Jing Jing is still dragging Jin Xi Chen around. She brings him back to the office and proceeds to wound him everywhere from face to feet. LOL. And then he pukes on her. A signature Jin sibling move? xD After cleaning herself, she finds him hiding in a corner and crying. He’s still drunk. She stays with him for the whole night.
Jin Rong Rong is still scheming on how to make babies. She studies manhuas and wonders why other people’s sofas are so easy to fall on (and make love on) but hers is so hard. Literally hard. I remember the sofa scene from You Are My Glory, lol. Very easy indeed. Jin Rong Rong dreams of the scenario, lying that her feet are numb, toppling over, and kissing him. Now it’s time for the real take...
...And he lifts her up with ease. They’re standing. She’s so little, she can’t pull him down even if she yanked him with all her might. LOL. She whines, “Why so fast! I haven't fallen yet! My feet are still numb!” And so he carries her. She’s too mad to care. She wants to make babies and not the vanilla princess-carry.
He pushes her back down onto the bed. She doesn’t understand why he rejected her in the first place. To him, she was too forward. Meanwhile she thinks it must be the tangerine theory. LOL. I think she meant that she peeled enough layers to slowly open his heart. He doesn’t get it. We get it. The innuendo too. It doesn’t matter. “Come here.” She pulls him down for a kiss and they roll in the blankets. They have deepened their 生產關系 ~.
Through Liang Jing Jing, Gu Cong Bei confirms the day he ran away from home was November 30th. Gu Cong Bei jumps in joy. He dashes to the office and embraces Jin Rong Rong in front of all her employees. They disperse, so does Qiu Bi, but not without a picture! Jin Rong Rong tries to speak, but Gu Cong Bei kisses her, and kisses her breathless. He tells her, “Five years ago, I already fell in love at first sight with you!”
Previously, Jin Rong Rong had asked him why he always carried a backpack, but he never told her. Now she knows. It’s filled with everything to keep her warm. How sweet is that. I like this detail. Jin Rong Rong shouts his name, “Xiao Bei!” and runs up to catch him. She has decided: what other people say doesn’t matter anymore. “I only believe in my feelings.” She’ll tell him what happened five years ago (the part that she remembers).
Gu Cong Bei doesn’t come home nor pick up his calls. Jin Rong Rong searches for him in the rain near the high school. She was always afraid to step near the vicinity of where she was trapped, but for Gu Cong Bei, she overcomes that fear. She sees the picture he’s holding. He’s crying. He’s here to search for his lost memories but no matter how hard he tries, he can’t remember. Jin Rong Rong aches for him, and tells him, “Don’t listen to what others say. Don’t doubt yourself. Come home with me. I know better than anyone else on what happened that day.”
Epilogue: November 30, 2016. Liang Jing Jing confessed to the boy she likes (who’s chubbier, shorter, and poorer than her). She’s rejected because she’s taller and richer than him. She cried and then the intern teacher gave her tissues. It’s Jin Xi Chen. They met five years ago too, it’s just they never saw each other’s faces.
[Ep20] Jin Rong Rong bought a refrigerator! She tells Gu Cong Bei she didn’t want to investigate because she doesn’t want to believe it was anything but an accident. She remembers saving a cat, and nothing more except that Jin Xi Chen found her in the end. Oh. She didn’t want to investigate for the sake of her stepbrother. But now that someone is framing/hurting Gu Cong Bei, she won’t let the matter rest. She’s menacing as she interrogates the Gu Brothers and then they confess it was Jin Xi Chen who ordered them. And Wu You Yong is really wuyouyong. Useless. I don’t even want to type what he tried to do. Jin Rong Rong questions Jin Xi Chen on how he even knew she was in the truck. He admits he planned it with Wu You Yong so that he could save the damsel in distress. o.o He really is guilty! But Gu Cong Bei appeared. While he was searching for a rod to break open the door, Jin Xi Chen hits him with a rod that had a nail on it.
Through an app, Qiu Bi shows Dad Jin the future babies of Jin Rong Rong x Gu Cong Bei. Dad Jin chuckles. He’ll need to write up another contract for a second baby! 
Gu Cong Bei sighs. It’s such a pity that he has no memories. Jin Rong Rong tells him to call her ‘jiejie’ and she’ll tell him. He does, but he calls her 'Jin xiaojie' instead. She retaliates with 'Gu tongxue'. As she’s snacking on her tangerine (in bed), he flips over her so that he’s on top. Apparently, Dad Jin assigned a task for him and he has to complete it. First baby now in production! Lmao. He kisses her. She giggles. Her mouth is full. She didn’t even finish her tangerine yet! So risqué...lol. Gu Cong Bei won’t let her. “It looks like you won’t be able to finish your tangerine today.” Omo. The whole day? 
Epilogue: 17 year old Gu Cong Bei stared at the picture of Jin Rong Rong and promised to himself, “Wait for me for 5 years. I’ll definitely marry you.” Gu Cong Bei doesn’t have to remember. He already did it.
Epilogue: Gu Cong Bei spends all his cash to buy back the bouquet (that isn’t worth that much). He apologizes to the old man for taking the bouquet against his will. “Sorry, but this is from my future wife!” The man chuckles. He’s Jin Rong Rong’s father!! He finds his future son-in-law and daughter very sweet.
[Ep5] Cohabitation begins! Jin Rong Rong is so impatient. That’s not all. She plans to get their marriage license tomorrow. But wait! He’s not of age to marry. LOL. She goes bananas and shoves him in a separate room. But wait~ he’ll be 23 in a week.
Gu Cong Bei finishes showering. He’s putting on his shirt and Jin Rong Rong hollers at him to stop. Then she sweetly tells him that a lone young man like him needs to be careful when living outside. She pulls down his shirt when he was already pulling it down before she hollered, but not without peeking at his abs up close first.
Jin Rong Rong is upset and wonders if he’s lying about his age to avoid marrying her. She sneaks into his room, finds his wallet. No ID, but there’s too little cash. She e-transfers him more money. Lol. She continues her search for his ID. She reaches under his pillow. Not there. She tunnels through his blanket. Because I totally put my IDs in my blankets too. Not there. She eyes the man himself. Well, it can only be there. She snuggles behind him and fishes around for his pant pocket. O. Risqué.
[Ep6] After confirming Gu Cong Begs’ birthday is in seven days, Jin Rong Rong happily declares they’re going to marry in a week. He looks shocked and leaves, but he gives her a stern warning to not sneak up on him in the middle of the night anymore. Because she can do it openly? Ya? Ya. He also returns her money.
He didn’t look like it last night, but he’s just as excited about marrying her as she is! I like how when she reminds him it’s in five days, she opens his washroom door twice just to peek at some more abs.
It’s the day they make it official! Jin Rong Rong pouts that hearts aren’t allowed in ID pictures – big or small. Gu Cong Bei, being so sensible, nudges her to signal that they can still make hearts behind their backs.
Gu Cong Bei was just about to give Jin Rong Rong a ring, but she asks him if he wants to keep their relationship a secret since he’s still a student. Now he’s gloomy and hides the ring. And she leaves for an emergency at work.
Epilogue: When Jin Rong Rong arrived home, she wasn’t browsing her phone. She was checking his phone to see the name he saved her as. It’s Miss Jin. So formal. She changes it to Master Jin. (I think it can be interpreted as the Jin who is central to his life)
[Ep7] Gu Cong Bei apologizes for kissing (without permission). Jin Rong Rong tries to hide her nervousness. He wants to explain about the kiss, but Jin Rong Rong wants to discuss their marriage. She even has a contract. Firstly, holding hands, hugging, and kissing is inevitable, if he wants to do it, she’ll accept all of it. This makes him flustered. As for deeper interactions, they’ll need to agree on the number of times. Is once enough? He’s shocked they’re talking about the quantity. She misunderstands his expression as a look of disapproval and increases it to three times. He’s more shocked. Five? He can’t even speak. She sighs and writes down seven. That’s the max. She mutters that being young sure is different. LOL.
Next, she discusses her spousal support if they were to divorce. He won’t have to worry about money. This upsets him. He said that if he were to marry, he wouldn’t divorce. He signs the marriage contract and ends all discussion. She’s confused. Is something wrong with the contract? She shouts to him she can one more time. Hahaha.
Speaking of contracts, the one that Jin Rong Rong signed with her father for 80% of the inheritance had a stipulation: she needs to give birth first. She’s offended. “What do you take my husband for?” Lol. I like that’s what she’s concerned about.
At home Gu Cong Bei is hacking into Jin Rong Rong’s computer?! It’s a deal with “Big”. And then Jin Rong Rong walks into her room...
Epilogue: Qiu Bi asks Dad Jin how he was certain Jin Rong Rong would choose Gu Cong Bei out of the three Gu brothers. Dad Jin knows his daughter. Even when choosing a tangerine, she’d pick the prettiest one. Shrimps too. Currently, at home, she’s choosing the pretty shrimp. And then Cu Cong Bei would heat it up for her because he knows doesn’t like cold food/drinks! Now there’s someone else who knows her more than her father ~
[Ep8] Gu Cong Bei lies that he’s doing homework on her computer. Jin Rong Rong doesn’t suspect him because she’s too busy dying inside. How could she think of having a child with him, when he’s a child doing homework? LMAO.
Jin Xi Chen is Jin Rong Rong’s half brother. They have different parents. He keeps meeting Liang Jing Jing who’s an intern (and working multiple jobs). The first time they met, she hit his head. The second time, she broke his plant. The third time, she made him drop his phone and spill coffee on it.
In the morning, Jing Rong Rong stimulates Gu Cong Bei with the racy scenes in Titanic, but she bought the clean version. It doesn’t matter. During the next kiss scene, she takes action. And it’s a pocky kiss, but she sneezes all over him.
Our couple goes out for dinner at Liang Jing Jing’s cafe. Jin Rong Rong is jealous that Gu Cong Bei is close to Liang Jing Jing and reveals they’re married. And now Liang Jing Jing has offended another Jin heir.
Epilogue: During the scene where Jin Rong Rong and Gu Bei Cong were working in the living room, she was searching up “How to date a young boy” and then changed it to “How to make babies with a young boy.” How to have a child with a child, basically, lol and eek. Gu Cong Bei was doing the same!! Not the baby part. He was searching for “How to date a mature jiejie”. Then he peeks at her and edits his search: “How to date a mature and cute jiejie”
[Ep9] Jin Rong Rong learns Gu Cong Bei and Liang Jing Jing are cousins. So everyone is rich here, lol. Got it. Immediately, Jin Rong Rong turns Liang Jing Jing into a full time employee. She's also ashamed for being jealous of his cousin. Disappointedly, she asks herself: How can someone like her make babies with him? Lol.
Gu Cong Bei buys Jin Rong Rong cotton candy. Knowingly, she smiles. She presses her lip to the candy, and then puckers up for him. He examines her lips. There’s nothing on it. She spells it out, “It's sweet right now so you can kiss me and then we can go home and make babies.” LOL. It’s always about babies with her.
Jin Rong Rong: Help me make babies. No matter how capable I am, I can’t complete it on my own.Gu Cong Bei: So what you need isn’t me, but my function. Both. She wants both. I don’t see a conflict.

Fart ~ Oh and boot! again. The three of them burst out of the closet, gasping for uncontaminated oxygen. And now they’re exposed.
[Ep10] Jin Rong Rong takes Qiu Bi’s camera and snaps the kissing pictures herself.
Jin Xi Chen lectures Wu You Yong for doing useless things, but Wu You Yong reports to him about Gu Cong Bei tampering with Jin Rong Rong’s laptop. The brother is (truly) concerned and tells Jin Rong Rong.
Jin Rong Rong checks the surveillance camera and sees the truth for herself, but she deletes the footage. She gives Gu Cong Bei a chance by letting him attend the bidding for her. In the end, Gu Cong Bei betrays her. He gives up the bidding in her name. Oh no. o.o It seems Gu Cong Bei is doing it for his mother’s building that’s in the hands of his step-brothers.

Gu Cong Bei asks her if she believes in love at first sight. Jin Rong Rong is hysterical and asks if she’s 17 to believe in a joke like that. Pft. Now he’s offended. Did she lie about being in love at first sight with him? And now she’s offended. These two continue to argue about “love at first sight,” Liang Jing Jing doesn’t get it. Weren’t they arguing about work? Is “love at first sight” really that important? In unison, our couple shout, “Important!”
Jin Rong Rong leaves in a fury. Liang Jing Jing lectures Gu Cong Bei and tells him that Jin Rong Rong purposely accelerated the bidding, making it look like she was going to buy in order to trap the Gu Brothers. Aw.

Long Island Iced Tea really isn’t tea, but a cocktail. Hahaha. Jin Rong Rong is still upset. Is he yelling at her over Long Island Iced Tea now?! LMAO. I think she’s also hiding her embarrassment of not knowing. In a huff and a puff, she leaves. Gu Cong Bei retorts, "Long Island Iced Tea is really tea and not a cocktail.” He mixed it up, haha. Now he’s annoyed with himself and mutters, “Is that even important?” LOL.
Cliffhanger! Jin Rong Rong shows up at his door, wrapped in blankets, looking cold. He apologizes, but she just tells him that she’s sleeping in his room.

Gu Cong Bei prepares breakfast for her and calls her ‘Rong Rong’. She likes that. He apologizes for using her, but marrying her was sincere. Not conflicting at all. He holds her hand and tells her that he wants to live each day with her from now on. She lightly pats his hand, telling him, “I’ll consider it.” Then she runs into her room to conceal her excitement. He’s outside begging ‘Rong Rong’ to accept him. The more he’s begging, the more she's gleefully rolling in bed.
Jin Rong Rong's dress zipper isn’t pulled all the way up. He reaches behind her to help her. She thinks it’s kissing time. She puckers up. He smiles and kisses her. While she’s wrapping him tightly for the kiss, he smoothly pulls up her zipper. The zip up kiss! Why is that sho shweet!
Gu Cong Bei learns why Jin Rong Rong has a trauma about temperature. She was trapped in an ice cream truck from saving a little cat. It was Jin Xi Chen who saved her. Hmm.
Later at night, she still wants to make babies. She tries to seduce him in a tacky dress and a hideous black hat. Is that hair or is that wool? They waltz. Her words are like honey; it’s cheesy, and creamy. It’s no wonder she’s gagging from her own flirting. She runs off to puke.
This was the content of their conversation:
- She asks him to teach her waltz for this function.

- And then he’s laughing, asking her to finish his sentence.
[Ep14] Jin Rong Rong suspects that Gu Cong Bei doesn’t like women (because all her seductions failed). Liang Jing Jing refutes. He has to like girls because when he was 17, he had someone he wanted to marry.
At the office, Qiu Bi brings more tangerines (LOL), which infuriates Jin Rong Rong.
At night, Jin Rong Rong demands Gu Cong Bei why he’s not making babies with her. It must be because of that woman he wants to marry. He doesn’t know what she’s saying. She dares him to tell her the woman’s name. “Jin Rong Rong!” He shouts her name and lifts her to bed. He kisses her. She tries to speak but each time he kisses her deeper.
Gu Cong Bei: What else do you want to say?Jin Rong Rong shakes her head. Her eyes are full of him.Gu Cong Bei: Jin Rong Rong, the one I like is you, only you, no one else.They kiss again, sweetly.Gu Gong Bei: Do you trust me now?Jin Rong Rong: No.She takes the lead and kisses him, taking him breathless. Look at his hands calling for help, LOL.
The next day, Liang Jing Jing brings a bunch of tangerines to work. Qiu Bi freaks out and tells her to clear them before Jin Rong Rong arrives. She’s here! And she loves tangerines! They’re so sweet. Qiu Bi smiles knowingly. “The tangerine is peeled!”
[Ep15] Jin Rong Rong gets her wedding ring!
Jin Rong Rong’s trauma is so bad that she can’t even have a regenerator in the house!! Gu Cong Bei worries for her and investigates the incident five years ago. It occurred at his high school. Jin Xi Chen was also a teacher back then.
Jin Xi Chen says something very interesting: it was Gu Cong Bei who locked Jin Rong Rong in the ice cream truck. ???
[Ep16] Gu Cong Bei finds written words behind the picture of Jin Rong Rong eating ice cream. It’s his writing that says: "The next time we meet, I will return you the ice cream money. 2016. 11. 30.” But he has no memory of it. As for Jin Rong Rong, she only remembers that a high school boy took the picture for her and sent it to her company.
Jin Xi Chen steals Wu You Yong's lunch to have an excuse to be with Liang Jing Jing during lunchtime. Then he drops the bomb: in university, he had liked Jin Rong Rong!! But she rejected him. So his mother married her father. Wut?! Currently, Jin Xi Chen no longer likes Jin Rong Rong.
[Ep17] Gu Cong Bei wanted to tell/ask Jin Rong Rong about five years ago, but Jin Xi Chen interrupted. The stepbrother tells his stepsister that five years ago, Gu Cong Bei deliberately approached her. This makes Jin Rong Rong uneasy (because she also doesn’t remember the past). Later in the evening, Gu Cong Bei asks her for details because he doesn’t remember, but the more he probes, the more she’s wary. She leaves to go back to work in the middle of the night.
As she’s walking, she’s wondering if she should investigate, and doesn't notice a bike approaching from behind. The road is empty, Bike, just swerve a little, but if that doesn’t happen then we can’t have this: Gu Cong Bei rescues Jin Rong Rong. He gives her a scarf and mittens so that she’s warm while walking at night. He zips up his backpack and leaves.
[Ep18] The Gu Brothers have a picture to prove it was Gu Cong Bei who closed the doors to the ice cream truck. Oh, but the Gu Brothers were ordered by Jin Xi Chen to say it like that.
[Ep19] Jin Rong Rong dries Gu Cong Bei’s hair. She tells him their past.
Gu Cong Bei bumped into her at school. He followed her out, pretending to take pictures just to warn her that Jin Xi Chen is no good as a brother or boyfriend. She laughs at the misunderstanding about the boyfriend and leaves, but reverses her car to give him a bouquet. It was for her father, but she’s too angry to give it to him now. So Gu Cong Bei liked her first.
This is why Gu Cong Bei found it so familiar when Jin Rong Rong gave him flowers. She laughs too. It seems every time she’s giving flowers, the receiver is always him.
That same day, as she was leaving, she saw him surrounded by gangsters. She saved him. She was brave and shouted, “Who dares touch my person?” She threw a baseball (and miserably missed all the targets). Then she phoned (a confused) Qiu Bi for backup (there was none). Then she pushed up her sleeves (that were up already) to show her tattoo (that was fake). Gu Gong Bei fled with her. Afterwards he promised to treat her to icecream, but he had no money. That’s also when he took the picture of her. He swore he’d pay her back and asked for her name. That’s the first time he called her ‘Jin xiaojie’. And that’s the first time she called him ‘Gu tongxue’.
Gu Cong Bei still doesn’t remember anything but if he can return to being 17, he would definitely confess to her that he likes her.
[Ep20] Jin Rong Rong bought a refrigerator! She tells Gu Cong Bei she didn’t want to investigate because she doesn’t want to believe it was anything but an accident. She remembers saving a cat, and nothing more except that Jin Xi Chen found her in the end. Oh. She didn’t want to investigate for the sake of her stepbrother. But now that someone is framing/hurting Gu Cong Bei, she won’t let the matter rest. She’s menacing as she interrogates the Gu Brothers and then they confess it was Jin Xi Chen who ordered them. And Wu You Yong is really wuyouyong. Useless. I don’t even want to type what he tried to do. Jin Rong Rong questions Jin Xi Chen on how he even knew she was in the truck. He admits he planned it with Wu You Yong so that he could save the damsel in distress. o.o He really is guilty! But Gu Cong Bei appeared. While he was searching for a rod to break open the door, Jin Xi Chen hits him with a rod that had a nail on it.
Jin Rong Rong is aghast. Gu Cong Bei could have died. Jin Xi Chen could have been a murderer. She says she would have accepted him in Jin Family without him saving her. For all these years, whenever Jin Xi Chen remembers the past, he’d hide in a corner. Now he turns in his resignation letter and asks Jin Rong Rong to give his plant to Liang Jing Jing.
The end!
Every episode has the same closing quote and now it really makes sense for this couple: “According to a saying, each person in their lifetime only falls in love once, and are always searching for his (her) shadow.”
Remarks
[First Impression (Ep1-4)] 有點甜 ~ I like dramas sweet and this is quite sweet. By Ep4, they’re engaged and I’m anticipating more loveliness. I love the trope where the girl makes the first move, but the guy was already in love.
I don’t normally watch short form dramas. There's usually not enough story and they’re more like fragmented concepts but this one has me captivated in the first episode. The story flows continuously. It even has little details! The songs are pretty too. It’s a full package not to be judged by its size.
[Actors/Actresses] Yang Ze, the king of short form dramas, or what? He was just in The Killer Is Also Romantic which did very well domestically.
Or maybe the king of short form dramas is the director and scriptwriter who are also the ones behind TKIAR.
