Highlights
- Zhang Da Da guested in this performance as an emcee
- All directors praises this. Only Chen Kai Ge had criticisms. He didn’t think La Mu Yang Zi pulled off Gu Li while all the directors applauded her efforts. He’s like not all actors can act all characters. He felt that it was forced. I have to agree with this.
- Er Dong Sheng praises Chu Ran after that harsh lecture last time. I always thought she did very well in Serenade of Peaceful Joy. He also calls her beautiful.
- Guo Jing Ming was more thankful for reminding him of his youth. He didn’t critique too much.
- I thought this was boring. They used the wrong format to being their skit.

- When all the guys praise her the one who chose her is the director who directed this.

- I like the scream from her after he chose her. It wasn’t those high pitched squeals but a half grunt, lol.

10. Inseparable Bros
Highlights
- Overall the directors recognize their skills. Er Dong Sheng made them shift their position on stage because their career has seniority. From Shi Bo Yu standing in the middle, he made Ma Su take the centre.

- I don’t think it’s fair that Shi Bo Yu got an S out of nowhere and Zhang Ming En didn’t get anything based on acting skills alone for this performance.

Short: Bad
Highlights
- Zhang Da Da is the only one who met Er Dong Sheng's expectation. Everyone else did not. Er Dong Sheng is harsh on Zhang Yi Jie (“How can you be in so many dramas and still be so terrible? My reputation as a teacher will be ruined by you”). Harsh.
- Huang Meng Yang tripped for real during the performance.
- Guo Jing Ming doesn’t like it. Huang Meng Ying has no change in her character. Zhang Yi Jie drank alcohol twice to express his sadness but each time was the same. There should have been a change.
- Chen Kai Ge didn’t like it either. He doesn’t want them to act something the audience can expect. He didn’t feel their acting. He didn’t believe the two girls were sisters.
Result

- In the end no one wants any of them. Er Dong Sheng didn’t even want to save his own team.

12. The Devotion of Suspect X
Highlights
- During rehearsal, Guo Jing Ming lectures Li Xi Rui for not paying attention to her team when they were acting. I agree. It was rude of her. Guo Jing Ming go back in check on her. She realizes she’s in the wrong and picks up her spirit again.
- Mostly everyone thought it was okay and compliments He Chang Xi.
- Zhao Wei said that it was boring. I agree.
Result
He Chang Xi: S (Guo Jing Ming)- Guo Jing Ming reveals he regret giving He Chang Xi an S because it gave He Chang Xi unnecessary pressure. Guo Jing Ming bet on the possibility that he could do well and thanks He Chang Xi for realizing his potential.
- Guo Jing Ming gave A’s to the two girls who acted Tiny Times in Part 1.

- Zhang Yi Jie. I sort of wished it was Cao Jun. That would complete my entire list of people I supported in Part 1. But Zhang Yi Jie did improve a lot for his Romance in the Rain performance, I acknowledge that.
Preparation for Part 3
On each director’s team there are six actors. They’re then divided into two teams of three for each skit. I found Zhao Wei’s group the most entertaining. La Mu Yang Zi is an S so she’s the main character. Zhao Wei doesn’t know which of her boys would match her most so there’s a mini audition. A brave Sun Yang goes first.
Sun Yang: From the first moment I met you, I have been mesmerized with your eyes. Pulls out flower from nowhere and then sits next to her. My teeth hurts. Barfs out a ruby ring. Ewwww LOL.
Zhao Wei shrivels up in her seat. Ma Bo Xian makes a comment, "I was paying attention to La Mu Yang Zi's reaction this hwhole time. She was dying." Sun Yang challenges him but Ma Bo Xian throws the ball to He Kai Lang because he’s diligently on his phone searching up stuff. He Kai Lang automatically gets up. He’s ready. His readiness surprises Zhao Wei and to everyone’s amusement he needs to go as soon as possible because is phone is low on battery and he needs his phone for his skit.
He Kai Lang begins to recite this really long boring poem. Then he’s like “this is too long” and he throws his phone away. So funny. Then he turns sincere and compliments her performance. He was asked by the interviewers to choose 8 S actors but he tells her he can only think of one La Mu Yang Zi. The boys are surprised he gave a one liner too. "Zi" is also used to mean "character" or "word".
La Mu Yang Zi has a story about He Kai Lang too. They never talked but after the second round, he’s like “let’s add each other as friends” quite emotionlessly. After they friended each other, he still never talked to her. Psst, La Mu Yang Zi, he's not interested.
Ma Bo Xian is up next.
Ma Bo Xian starts with talking about lipsticks. La Mu Yang Zi screams while laughing “Save me!” Ma Bo Xian, who’s already embarrassed gets put to leave and she quickly pulls him back down to continue the skit. He then asks her what is that attraction that goes in circle in the amusement park. La Mu Yang Zi answer it’s the Merry Go Round (Chinese: Xuan Zhuan Mu Ma). So then Ma Bo Xian is like “Muah” with his lips. La Mu Yang Zi screams: "Save me!!"
Shi Bo Yu is up next.
Shi Bo Yu sits next to her and tells her there’s something on her face. The key Chinese words to note is “有點” (you dian = there’s something). Then he touches her cheeks and says: 有點喜歡你 (you dian xi huan ni = kind of like you).
Among the four brave and brash contestants, La Mu Yuan Zi chooses Shi Bo Yu. Shi Bo Yu turns to Ma Bo Xian and admits he’s shy now. I think La Mu Yang Zi’s choice is the one Zhao Wei wants too. Zhao Wei also throws in Ma Bo Xian in this team to be the second male lead.

[Commentary]
[Part 1 vs. Part 2] I definitely prefer Part 1 more. In Part 1, the directors were objectively critiquing acting skills. In Part 2, with the directors each participating in three groups' performance they become innately biased to their own group. They'll want to save their own members. It happened so many times. It was no fun. Those with better acting skills weren't chosen. For example, in Inseparable Bros, Zhang Ming En was better but Zhao Wei saved the pretty boy, Shi Bo Yu. Or when Chen Kai Ge chose Chen You Wei over Lin Rui Lin in "The Legend of Zhen Huan".
[Biased] Chen Kai Ge's choice of Dong Si Yi symbolizes what Part 2 is essentially about. The directors are choosing actors for roles they have preset rather than choosing them by skills. Pity Cao Jun.... byeeeee ): However, I do think he's getting his recognition among c-netizens. Hopefully, I'll see him more next year and he won't be one of those forgettable supporting roles. As for Dong Si Yi, I do like her but that role of hers in "Sheep Without a Sheppard" was dull. So dull. Minor and forgettable and she did nothing with it. It just wasn't fair seeing all those talented actors leave the stage.
All the directors mainly chose the actors who were in the project they directed with the exception of Er Dong Sheng. He kind of let a few of his teams die and wither on their own. If you take a note of the final contestants in each team they’re the same actors the directors worked with. Guo Jing Ming chose actors from his own projects with the exception of Wang Chu Ran. Chen Kai Ge did the same with the exception of Ren Min. Zhao Wei and Er Dong Sheng were teaming up. She’d pick up his people and he’d pick up her people. Er Dong Shen was the most “fair” in choosing people regardless of whose team they belong to or maybe he really just didn’t like his own actors.
[Guo Jing Ming] Being on Guo Jing Ming's team seems to be a blessing. He really took care of each member and made them shine. Er Dong Sheng teased Guo Jing Ming on many hours Guo Jing Ming spent on his actors. Er Dong Sheng said he was too old to last as long as GJM. I just think Er Dong Sheng wasn’t nearly as invested in his teams as Guo Jing Ming was. Er Dong Sheng was too harsh and too cold and just not a teacher everyone can accept. Guo Jing Ming is superior as a teacher among all the directors in this drama. Then I would think it’s Zhao Wei, then Chen Kai Ge, and at the very very very bottom is Er Dong Sheng.
[Da Peng is an angel] Da Peng chose the people I wanted!!!! Well, except Cao Jun (he chose Zhang Yi Jie) but two out of three is pretty good. I'm especially happy for Ni Hong Jie. I hope these three underdogs rip the stage and prove the directors wrong for not choosing them.
