[Ep1] After a miscarriage, Empress Yao Mo Xin miraculously swaps souls with her younger sister, Yao Mo Wan. Without a choice, Empress (in Mo Wan) leaves the palace. Someone is after her life and it only makes sense for her to leave the palace since she’s no longer the Empress. However, immediately after leaving palace grounds, she’s captured by a group of men whose faces are painted.

*I will be calling the female lead as Mo Wan even if she’s the Empress

Ye Jun Qing (Prince Su) is returning from a triumphant war and manages to save Mo Wan (Empress). They both fall off a cliff but they’re okay. He doesn’t know why she knows his name though. When she wakes up, she has forgotten everything. Is she the amnesiac Mo Xin or Mo Wan? She thinks he’s a pervert so she attacks him. She topples him. With amazing strength, he stands up with her still hugging him like a koala or something. When she finally believes he’s a good guy, she hugs his leg for him to not ditch her. She has zero memories now. She begs him to take her with him. He’s good looking and totally her type anyways. However they’re interrupted by another bloodthirsty group. This time they’re after Ye Jun Qing. He’s hurt after protecting her. When he needs helpfeom his enemies, Mo Wan stands in front with a knife. However, the next second, she retreats. She’s not actually betraying him; she’s looking for a chance to ambush them. Together, they manage to fend off everyone but he still collapses from his injury. Mo Wan piggybacks him to safety.

They’re saved by an old man. Mo Wan lies that she and Ye Jun Qing are husband and wife. As she’s feeding the unconscious Ye Jun Qing, memories of him flashes. Ah, so she’s still the Empress. Although, Mo Wan is still amnesiac, her medical knowledge is still intact.

[Ep2] Ye Jun Qing wakes up under Mo Wan’s care. Initially she was thankful but soon he’s angered because she sold his precious jade for money (to take care of him). I assume that jade is from Mo Xin who he loves but can’t love. He belatedly learns that she also lied about their identity and now they have to play husband and wife together. When no one’s around, he kicks her out of his bed. However, she’s determined to sleep on this bed for her own sake and she needs him who’s sickly to sleep on the bed too. She uses a pillow to separate them.

The same night, the Emperor (Ye Hong Yi) is at his Empress’s bedside. He remembers their wedding night. Although there was no audience, it didn’t matter. They promise their love to each other. Hmmmmmmm

In the morning, Ye Jun Qing wakes up first. He finds Mo Wan glued to him at every inch of his body. He tries immensely hard to get out of her grasp but she tightens even more. She’s faking her sleep. Thus he soon follows suit and pretends to sleep too. The loser is the one who cannot hold out. However when grandma calls them for lunch, they both get up immediately like nothing happened. Hahah. I really laughed out loud

Ye Jun Qing asks Mo Wan why she’s sticking to him. She says he’s her man. Plus he’s the only one connecting her to this world that’s foreign to her now. She asks him to give her a name. He casually calls her "Nian Xin". It means to remember Xin (Mo Xin, the Empress). Mo Wan likes the name. She touches his face and calls him hers once again. Ye Jun Qing is flustered. He also sees glimpses of Mo Xin in her.

Ye Jun Qing finally returns to the palace and that’s when he hears the news of the Empress in a coma. Mo Wan manages to glue herself to Ye Jun Qing and she’s in the palace too. However, she makes him angry by accidentally ripping his portrait of Mo Xin. He kicks her out of the palace.

[Ep3] Mo Wan exerts a huge amount of effort to return to the palace next to Ye Jun Qing. Her last resort is to ruin both their reputation. She claims Prince Su raped her. Before she stirs more chaos, he throws her over his shoulder among the crowd to bring her back in.

Ye Jun Qing and the Emperor go hunting together. There’s another ambush. This one is against the Emperor. Mo Wan manages to clear Ye Jun Qing from being suspected. As Mo Wan tends to the Emperor’s injuries, the Emperor is reminded of his Empress. When he learns of her temporary name “Nian Xin”, the Emperor knows exactly what it means especially when Ye Jun Qing gave her the name.

Mo Wan smartly figures out that Ye Jun Qing purposely injured himself with an arrow to avoid suspicion that he organized the attack against the Emperor. Whoever planned the ambush was aiming to make him the suspect.

At night, Mo Wan fools him into signing a contract to never ditch her no matter what she does wrong. He takes the contract from her. She wants to snatch it back but accidentally falls into his arms instead. A romantic mood blooms and then lanterns light up the sky. She’s mesmerized by the sight. She wants to attend the festival but he says he won’t go. She keeps taunting that he better not regret it then. Next scene, he’s there with her.

[Ep4] New character: Han Jin Yi. He's loyal to Ye Jun Qing.

Mo Wan somehow returns home by pure coincidence. She doesn’t remember her family though. Although she has no memory, she finds her stepmom forbidding. By the way, I should mention, Mo Wan’s step sister, Yao Su Luan (daughter of stepmom) is also married to the Emperor. I’d say step mom and step sister have a lot to do with the sisters' detriment. Ye Jun Qing also realizes Mo Wan is Mo Xin’s sister now.

[Ep5] Yao Mo Wan is an eyesore to her stepmother. Thus, Stepmom is marrying her off. Mo Wan asks Ye Jun Qing for help but he pities the man who'll marry her instead. Mo Wan takes matters into her own hands, and disfigures her own visuals. However, when it matters, Ye Jun Qing does help her. He suggests to the Emperor to annul the wedding plans. The Emperor approves and he even bestows Mo Wan the right to marry who she wants.

The Empress (uh, the real Mo Wan) dies. What a pity for the real Mo Wan. She shows up in the beginning probably to warn her sister of their step-mother and now she's dead. When Mo Wan sees Ye Jun Qing's reaction, she knows he's in love with her sister (technically herself). She stops him from barging into the palace. If he doesn't listen, her sister's reputation will be tarnished by him. Mo Wan cries watching Ye Jun Qing in pain. She's also crying for her sister.

[Ep6] After the Empress's funeral, Ye Jun Qing is depressed. He's drunk. Mo Wan takes care of him the entire night. She even falls asleep on his chest. She lies to him that he molested her. He believes her and takes his sword, ready to chop off the arm that molested her. Mo Wan admits she was only joking. She wanted to lighten up his mood. It makes him even angrier.

As days go by, with Mo Wan's help, Ye Jun Qing is able to move on from the Empress's death. He thanks her. Mo Wan wants him to repeat that but they're interrupted by the arrival of a neighboring country's princess, Duan Ting Ting. Her auntie (Princess Ha Yue) is the Empress's close friend. Immediately, Mo Wan identifies Duan Ting Ting as her love rival. However, Ye Jun Qing is interested in neither brats. Well, that's not true. He much prefers Mo Wan over Duan Ting Ting. When Duan Ting Ting asks him why he's not choosing her, he accepts Mo Wan helping him lie that he loves her (Mo Wan).

Han Jin Yi flies in and overhears that Ye Jun Qing likes Mo Wan. He stares at Ye Jun Qing with these pair of innocent eyes asking for verification. Ye Jun Qing assures him there's nothing between them.Yes, but what's the relationship between these two men?

[Ep7] Ye Jun Qing is accused of betraying the Emperor. He’s immediately imprisoned. His loyal guard is also incarcerated with him. They suffer a ton of punishment but the guard swears loyalty to him still. Ye Jun Qing suggests they be brothers in their next life.

Mo Wan finds out it’s indeed her stepmom who was after her (the real Mo Wan). However, before she avenges for herself, she needs to save Ye Jun Qing first. He’s to be beheaded very soon.

[Ep8] Mo Wan saves Ye Jun Qing in time. The neighbouring country plotted this against Ye Jun Qing. After Ye Jun Qing is safe, Mo Wan is so relieved, she faints over. When she wakes up, Ye Jun Qing is at her bedside. He asks her if she's only a shadow of her sister to him. She's not. He saw him as Mo Wan and only Mo Wan for a long while now. But she is Mo Xin!

Ye Jun Qing slowly warms up to Mo Wan but he doesn't like her knowing that. He secretly sends his guard to protect her (but she finds out) and gives her ginseng for her health.

Stepmother's goal is to make her daughter the new Empress (since that spot is vacant now). Stepmother is also plotting with her brother (Dou Shi Ming) to take down Mo Wan because she's looking into her sister's death and now she's misunderstood by them to be seducing the Emperor. However Dou Shi Ming says she might be of use because she's close to Ye Jun Qing. Han Jin Yi is on top of the roof listening into their conversation. He reports it to Ye Jun Qing.

Princess Han Yue (Mo Xin's close friend) sees Mo Xin in Mo Wan but of course she doesn't know soul-swapping is a thing. She helps Mo Wan with her love woes. She gives her a pouch to give Ye Jun Qing. When he spots Mo Wan playing with it, he snatches it from her and teases her. When he returns it to her, she slips it back into his hand. It was meant for him anyways. Aw. However, he sees a mysterious figure spying on them. He pretends to be coldhearted and throws away the pouch in front of her. After he leaves her, he orders his guard to search for the mysterious figure and to protect Mo Wan. However, Mo Wan doesn't know. She's heartbroken at his rejection. She also doesn't know Ye Jun Qing went back to look for the pouch.

Mo Wan continues to investigate Mo Xin's death. She's in the library of the palace. Someone set it on fire. Ye Jun Qing runs in amidst the flames to save her. She cares more about his feelings towards her than their livelihood. She asks him what his feelings are towards her. He tells her, "I did love Mo Xin but it is you I have gone through life and death with." His words are cut short from the rescuers on the outside. She wants him to finish his sentence though. Ye Jun Qing apologizes and hits her to make her faint. He wants them safe first.

Secondary couple: Mo Wan's maid (Ding Lei) and Ye Jun Ting's guard (Ben Lei). They're cute.

[Ep9] This episode begins with a telling dream by the Emperor. He used a knife to kill the Empress and Ye Jun Qing. Hm
Ye Jun Qing and Mo Xin are safe from the fire. She’s not happy he injured himself to save her. She asks him what if she fortunately lives and he unfortunately dies. She’s going to have to live in sadness for the rest of her life. Is he going to be responsible for that? He doesn’t like how she worded her sentence: “Why is it that I’m unfortunate and you’re fortunate?” Lol. She's serious about his safety though. She wants him to promise her that no matter what, if in the future his life is in danger, he must live so that they can see each other. When she gets up to leave, he pulls her right to his lap. Ou. She moves in to kiss him but she’s interrupted by Han Jin Yi. Mo Wan quickly gets up to leave but Ye Jun Qing pulls her back to his lap. Ouu. Han Jin Yi innocently asks if he interrupted anything important. “Nothing!” Mo Wan replies as she stomps off angrily. Ye Jun Qing is amused.

Mo Wan asks Ye Jun Qing’s guard (Ben Lei) what is the story behind her sister and Ye Jun Qing. Mo Xin chose the Emperor (back then he was Second Prince, Ye Hong Yi) because he saved her during the lantern festival. But the one who saved her was actually Ye Jun Qing. He was about to tell her but Second Prince (current Emperor) professes his love towards her. Ye Hong Yi tells her that the Emperor (dad) had bestowed a marriage with her older sister Yao Su Luan but his heart is only for her. Mo Xin agrees to marry him. Her heart is with him. That explains why their marriage was so lonely. Thus, Ye Jun Qing gives up but from then on he’s become withdrawn. For some reason, when Mo Wan hears this story, she empathizes with her sister. Okay, now I can support this romance full heartedly

Ye Jun Qing tells his guard that if the Emperor wants, he’s willing to give up his army and even be a peasant. Ben Lei isn’t happy hearing that. Ye Jun Qing finishes his thoughts: if Mo Wan is willing to follow him, he doesn’t mind taking her with him. Ben Lei is much happier. However, Mo Wan is currently imprisoned. She was investigating her sister's death.

[Ep10] Mo Wan finds Mo Xin’s maid in the prison. She has the poison evidence and tells Mo Wan where she hid it. Mo Xin had also instructed the maid to not even trust the Emperor. Ye Jun Qing immediately arrives to check if Mo Wan is okay. However, he can’t save her yet. He needs the Emperor’s approval even if it means angering the Emperor.

Mo Wan is to be freed. She pretends to be weak and asks Ye Jun Qing to carry her. This is the episode after she claims she’s not that weak to need a man (Han Jin Yi) to carry her after she twisted her ankle slightly. I guess it all depends on the man. He carries her all the way back to his manor but then oh-so-ungracefully throws her onto the bed. She tells him she’s in pain. He starts poking her at her ticklish spots and asks if she’s still in pain. She giggles. When all the laughing is done, he looks at her sentimentally. He then touches her lips and tells her to close her eyes. She shyly does. He then throws a blanket over her head and has a laughing fit. She’s utterly embarrassed and won’t look at him. He then takes her hand in both of his and tells her sincerely he’s glad she’s okay. I definitely like these two. Mo Wan asks him how he saved her. A flashback tells us he had knelt outside the palace for four hours to free her but he doesn’t tell her that.

Han Yue tells more of Mo Xin’s past to Mo Wan. Mo Xin begged Ye Jun Qing to send his army to help Ye Hong Yi. If he perished, she will die with him. Ye Jun Qing tells her that since he promised to protect her for life, he will help Ye Hong Yi. Ye Jun Qing has one request of her though. He wants a portrait of her. The one Mo Wan ripped (of herself). Months later, Ye Hong Yi gets wind of this and suspects Mo Xin for doing more with Ye Jun Qing than just a simple portrait. Ye Hong Li thinks Mo Xin is pregnant with Ye Jun Qing’s baby.

Mo Wan once again finds herself in tears as she listens to her sister’s story. Han Yue tells her that she suspects Mo Xin is still alive. She uses the blood in their arm veins as proof. If Mo Xin isn’t alive, the blood mark on their inner arms will disappear. It’s a cultural thing of Han Yue’s tribe between best friends to make blood bonds. Mmhm. The only other way for this marking to appear is if Mo Xin is Mo Wan. Mo Wan dismisses that idea completely. Mo Wan cannot be Mo Xin. She’s so wrong about that. Mo Wan begins to suspect the Emperor for hiding Mo Xin because he never allowed anyone to visit her. She’s right about this one. Mo Xin is still alive, just comatose and hidden from the world by Ye Hong Yi.

Mo Wan’s mother dies at the hands of Stepmom.
[Ep11] Mo Wan finds her sister in a hidden dungeon. Seeing her sister, all of Mo Wan's memories return. She remembers she is Mo Xin. Her memory recovered faster than I thought. But it is very confusing. Mo Xin/Wan says she has both memories of Mo Wan and Mo Xin. Wut.

Ye Jun Qing is staring at his portrait of Mo Xin. He apologizes to her that his heart actually changed when he thought it never would. He now loves Mo Wan. However, he believes Mo Xin will be happy for him that he can move on.

For simplicity sake, I will continue calling the FL 'Mo Wan'. Mo Wan is heartbroken to learn that her sister's story is actually her own. Her only pleasure is being with Ye Jun Qing. She stares at him sleeping. When he wakes up, she complains to him that he's starring at her sister's portrait again. Mo Wan mulls that he's cheating on her. His heart doesn't even have her but he pretends he cares, making her unable to leave him. Ye Jun Qing smiles. He knows she's joking.
Mo Wan asks him who does he really have in his heart. However, before she lets him answer, she wants him to do a whole list of date-worthy thing with her first. He asks her they have a long time together, why the rush? It's sweet that he said this but it's also ominous. Why is this drama giving me such ominous vibes!! She writes in her lantern to never leave each other even through death and he writes in his to always think of each other. Ye Jun Qing piggybacks Mo Wan the rest of the way. She keeps mentioning Mo Xin and how her sister would definitely choose him if there was a next life. Ye Jun Qing doesn't understand why Mo Wan keeps mentioning her. I like how he actually grimaces while piggybacking her. It was a long scene for him to be carrying her in his heavy clothes. He asks her to live with him away from the palace, away from politics, just the two of them. Mo Wan cries. He wipes her tears asking her what's wrong. Mo Wan goes on her toes and kisses him. He's surprised but soon returns the kiss. Mo Wan has one more request. She wants him to take the raft across the other side. She wants to answer him from that distance. Why? He gives her a quick peck on the lips and smiles. He coolly tells her, "Wait for me." As he paddles across, Mo Wan cries.

Mo Wan: In my heart you are my everything, but I have something important to do. I won't beg you to forgive me in the future but I promise in the future I'll live only for you. What bs is this. How do these sentences even make sense together?

When Ye Jun Qing reaches the opposite side of the river, he turns around to see that Mo Wan is no longer waiting for him. WHY HURT HIM. When he's back in his manor, Mo Wan has left him a letter: "It's too hard to love someone who's not certain." She continues her letter to address his future lover: "Jun Qing is someone who's slow to warm. He's picky about his tea. Although he's royal, he never had a female servant so he doesn't know what girls are like. You (his future lover) must take the initiative." Her letter is full of love but Mo Wan's current actions are anything but love for him. Mo Wan has decided to marry the Emperor again. OMG. YO. Not cool

[Ep12] Mo Wan is to be officially married to the Emperor. Only Jin Yi knows the reason why she is set on marrying the Emperor. She pleads Jin Yi to not reveal this to Ye Jun Qing. On the day of the marriage, Mo Wan is kidnapped. Han Jin Yi is oddly indifferent. Ye Jun Qing finds her and saves her. However, when words travel to the Emperor, it is said that Mo Wan has already become Ye Jun Qing's woman.

[Ep13] Mo Wan arrives safely to the Emperor. Ye Jun Qin escorted her. Stepmom is charged with the kidnapping crime. However, Ye Jun Qing knows Stepmom isn't the culprit. He's deciphered that Mo Wan and Jin Yi worked together to frame Stepmom. He asks Mo Wan why she chose the Emperor over him. Mo Wan drives the nail in the coffin and tells him the Emperor is more powerful than he could ever be.

It's the night of consummation between the Emperor and Mo Wan. However, there are suspicious red dots all over her body and a nest of snake swarm in her room. Underneath her bed is an item that attracts snakes. It was a prank set by Duan Ting Ting. Mo Wan doesn't want to harm Duan Ting Ting so she's unable to explain herself to the Emperor.

[Ep14] Ye Jun Qing investigates for Mo Wan. He begs Consort Shu (his cousin) for help and she notes that she's never seen him beg for anyone. Together, they manage to help Duan Ting Ting avoid punishment and clear Mo Wan's suspicions.

The Emperor organizes a banquet. The guests include Ye Jun Qing. He drowns himself in alcohol but still he can perform a dance with Mo Wan under the Emperor's sick request. However, the two are further trapped in a room. Someone wants to sabotage their reputation. Ye Jun Qin becomes sober again and they find a way to avoid another trap. Mo Wan pretends to be ambushed and claims it was done by a maid. Ye Jun Qing pretends to arrive on scene when he was in the room all along. Danger averted.

Ye Jun Qing finds it all too weird that Mo Wan knows the palace so well despite being new there. Mo Wan also finds it weird that her friend, Consort Chen who she had helped when she was Mo Xin, is betraying her. Consort Chen betrayed her because Yao Su Luan manipulated the truth to Consort Chen that it was Mo Wan who exposed her relationship with the guard.

Jin Yi sneaks into Mo Wan's room at night and gives her a flute. The flute summons a female bandit, Yin Xue. She can do anything Mo Wan orders.

Yao Su Luan teams up with Consort Shu to expose Consort Chen's infidelity. However, Mo Wan had already formed an alliance with Consort Shu. Yao Su Luan's plans backfire. Consort Chen is also safe.

[Ep15] Mo Wan is investigating into Yao Su Luan. She walks into a trap set up by a fake Ye Jun Qing. Fortunately, the real Ye Jun Qing saves her. However, the trap was actually set for both Mo Wan and Ye Jun Qing. The place blows up. The mastermind is Dou Shi Ming. He wants to hide his involvement in illegal firearms and simultaneously kill two eyesores.

Mo Wan and Ye Jun Qing survive the bomb. Ye Jun Qing took most of the hit. Mo Wan secretly visits him at night. He’s sleeping. She holds onto his face and tearfully apologizes for hurting him in two lifetimes.

[Ep16] Consort Shu likes Ye Jun Qing. When she saved Mo Wan last time, her condition was to have Ye Jun Qing’s life in return. He agreed without hesitation. That hurt her even more. First there was a Mo Xin and now there’s a Mo Wan. Nah. It was always the same girl. She still loves Ye Jun Qing (despite being his cousin). Her motive is to make Ye Jun Qing king. Her logic: to give him power in return for his love??

It’s Mo Xin’s birthday today. Ye Hong Yi tries to sleep with Mo Wan but she manages to push him off and reprimand him for using her as Mo Xin’s replacement. The Emperor vows to not touch her until she willingly becomes Mo Xin for him.

Ye Jun Qing is investigating into the illegal firearm case involving Dou Shi Ming.

Mo Wan is punished for slapping stepmom. She’s to bow outside for hours. Ye Jun Qing purposely visits her with an umbrella. He takes her hand and gives her the umbrella. Silently, he walks away. However, Mo Wan drops the umbrella. She’d rather be drenched in rain than let him help her.

[Ep17] Consort Shu asks Ye Jun Qing to love her. He can’t. He rather give her his life. Consort Shu gave him a poisonous drink. Mo Wan uses the hidden passageway to tend to Ye Jun Qing and conceal the fact that Consort Shu is sleeping on his bed. When Ye Jun Qing wakes up, he’s surprised to see both him and Mo Wan in pyjamas. She teases him a bit that they slept together. He was more disappointed when she clarifies that nothing happened between them. Why tease him like that if she’s not going to return his love? Sigh

Consort Shu isn’t the only one rejected by Ye Jun Qing. That princess is also rejected. He’s breaking hearts too. Except I don’t care about these girls. I only care about Ye Jun Qing.

Mo Wan is back on track for her revenge plan that she can sacrifice her life for twice and her the man she loves twice. However, Yao Su Luan gets her in trouble in front of the Emperor.

[Ep18] Actually, it’s Mo Wan who gets Yao Su Luan in trouble. Her maid accuses Yao Su Luan of sabotaging Mo Wan. Yao Su Luan is punished. Mo Wan uses this opportunity to approach Ye Hong Yi. She gives her body to him. Omg. What is this drama. She no longer has love in her heart. It’s completely filled with revenge especially after her loyal servant died under the hands of the evil eunuch. Mo Wan is promoted up the ranks after that night. She's one step closer to her grand revenge scheme.

[Ep36] I sneaked in to watch the last episode. I was too curious about this to not know the ending. I will try to describe what I think I understand. Ye Jun Qing knows about Mo Wan's identity as Mo Xin. Mo Xin is still in Mo Wan's body. They've taken down Ye Hong Yi. Ye Jun Qing is to be the next Emperor and Mo Wan is to be his Empress. How does that work? She can just transfer from one Emperor to the next? Mo Wan bites down hard on Ye Jun Qing's arm to leave her teeth mark. It's a reminder to him that whenever he's with other consorts, he will remember her. Ye Jun Qing hugs her. He assures her she's his one and only wife.

At one point in time, Ye Hong Yi, who's still alive, has infiltrated the palace and taken Ye Jun Qing's appearance. But Mo Wan doesn't know. She takes this "Ye Jun Qing" to see Mo Xin (who's actually Mo Wan) and that's how Ye Hong Yi learns this whole Mo Wan/Mo Xin stuff. He goes berserk and rips off his Ye Jun Qin mask which, um, also apparently changes his voice, height and stuff like that. Mo Wan is shocked to know it's Ye Hong Yi. What's more shocking is Mo Xin wakes up. Ye Hong Yi takes both girls hostage to threaten Ye Jun Qing. They're at a cliff edge. So, Mo Xin sacrifices her life by taking down Ye Hong Yi with her. I should technically say it's Mo Wan in Mo Xin's body who sacrifices her life for Mo Xin in Mo Wan's body.

Mo Wan (Mo Xin) is the Empress and Ye Jun Qing is the Emperor. Therefore, Mo Xin gets her revenge (while sacrificing her poor, innocent sister) and her prince who is now the Emperor. She gets everything she wants: revenge, prince, and emperor. In a twisted fate, Ye Hong Yi also gets what he wants. He lost Mo Xin's love but in the end he gets to possess Mo Xin's body alive or dead

Remarks

[First Impression (Ep1-8)] The story in short: the Empress somehow swaps souls with her sister, loses her memories, and then romances her brother-in-law. My question: how is the romance going to happen when she’s the Empress and almost had a baby with the Emperor and they love each other. Just where does the ML (the Prince / brother-in law) fit into this equation? I don’t know how to support this romance but it’s successfully made me curious in how this triangular relationship will work out. It also helps that the ML and FL are cute together. I'm just worried for the future. The three of them (including the Emperor) are also constantly ambushed. The culprits are not as obvious as they seem. This story has certainly hooked me. I'm crossing my fingers hoping this is a happy ending. For some reason, I'm feeling ominous.

[Actors/Actresses] I’ve seen Li Mo Zhi from Youth (2018). Not this Youth but the one starring the Taiwanese actor Simon Lian. I really liked that drama (I have a thing for school dramas) but I don’t think that drama did well at all. Pity. It took me a while to recognize her though. She’s much prettier now. Yan Zi Dong (Kevin Yan) is also in this as the second male lead. I liked his acting a lot in Nothing But Thirty. He was bright, cute and flirty there. He’s very different here, but still cute. He’s got a bromance going on with the ML. It’ll be my first time watching Chen Zhe Yuan and so far so good. Overall, I really like this entire cast. Great acting from everyone.

[Episode 11 Update] This episode turned everything upside down. This will not be a fluffy ride. I definitely don't mind this. I'm even more invested in the story. Please be a happy ending. Please.

[Dropped] This keeps going deeper and deeper into the plot that I don’t want it to go into. The Empress doesn’t choose the Prince or the Emperor. She chose revenge. She doesn’t deserve the Prince’s love. The only regret I have dropping this is for Ye Jun Qing. If this somehow redeems itself, I’d like to know. Please and thank you.

[Ending] I skipped everything to watch the last episode. I can assure you it is a happy ending.
