• As of 2026, he's managed by Emperor Entertainment Group (英皇娛樂), one of Hong Kong's biggest entertainment companies. Unlike many HK stars whose careers died stayed in Hong Kong, Emperor successfully transitioned many of its artists – especially singers – into Mainland China. William is part of a roster that includes Nicholas Tse, Joey Yung, Twins, Hacken Lee, and more.
• He didn't debut as an actor. He started as a model before joining the Cantopop boy group Sun Boy'z. Originally, Boy'z was a duo consisting of Kenny Kwan and Steven Cheung Chi-hang. After Kenny left, William Chan joined Steven and Dennis Mak in 2006, turning the group into a trio until they disbanded in 2008 as well. (And then the original duo – Kenny and Steven – came back together in 2010, but also disbanded again, permanently.)
• According to Baidu, he's no longer a Hong Konger. :O His profile lists his nationality as Chinese Mainland. 
• His nickname is "Waiting." Because his Cantonese romanized name is Chan Wai-ting. This "English" inspired the Chinese name 等等 (děngděng) = "wait a moment."
• His exes include Angelababy and Charlene Choi (Twins).
• Now he's married to Chinese supermodel He Sui. They have a son together, nicknamed Winsome. They were rumoured for years, then skipped the "we're dating" announcement and went straight to "we have a baby" in late 2025.
