A desolate mother is denied justice for her son's death.

First things first, there's no romance.
There's also no justice. My jaw dropped at the end of Ep1. Our FL does the inconceivable (but totally relatable!) and is imprisoned. Her grief is gripping somehow, which fortunately, isn't the focus of the show. There's the mystery of her son's death and the secret between the supporting cast. However, after the mystery behind Kwon Seon-yul unravels, it does become dreadfully slow. There's more flashbacks than there is plot progression. It's a good thing this only had 14 eps. It would be even better at 10 or 8.
Recommended? I'm not sure. Honestly, it's a tough watch, but there is a healing ending. The whole drama isn't as anguishing as it appears. And if you're interested in long legs, Kim Nam-joo has a spectacular pair. I was staring.
Kim Nam-joo is impressive. The mother she acted was thoroughly dead inside. Completely hollow, a shell of what she used to be. My heart was with her even if her heart was dead.
Cha Eun-woo is impressively the same. Not that great, but not so bad. (I'll gladly slurp up his romcoms anyway.) I just don't understand the deal with his bangs or are those eye-jabbers.
For this heartbreaking scene below (Ep10, he had his head mostly down, and his eyes jabbed all the way. FL was across from him, receiving his acting, and her emotions still shone through despite the blackout ahead.
