[Ep1] Ding Liao Liao and Ding Man are siblings who live in their uncle’s vacant home. They’re getting a third roommate today: Jiang Kan. He’s their uncle’s friend who has a PhD in pharmacy and is a consultant at a pharmaceutical company. Ding Liao Liao was expecting someone in their forties, but is pleasantly surprised he’s young and handsome. However, that’s all to his good impressions. He doesn’t talk much and according to Ding Liao Liao, he’s very picky. He doesn’t eat after 8pm, only uses his own bedsheets (that’s picky?), and wants the house disinfected once a week. Did he mean regular cleaning? Disinfecting...is a bit much but if the guy wants to do it, he can do it all he wants (as long as the house doesn’t smell like a hospital).

Jiang Kan has opinions of Ding Liao Liao too. He has a colleague (Ju Zi) who idolizes Ding Liao Liao because she's a director (plus occasional anchor??) of her favourite show. Ju Zi is jealous that he’s living with Ding Lia Liao. She must be like a goddess, beautiful and intelligent. Jiang Kan mutters that she’s not very intelligent. So he’s not denying that she’s a goddess?

Out of courtesy, Ding Liao Liao invites Jiang Kan to watch a movie in the living room. The nerd would never accept, but the nerd does! It’s so awkward that Ding Man returns to his room, leaving Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan alone to watch the romantic kissing scenes. She tries to fill in the silence by asking if he’s really healthy since he studies medicine. He’s like Which part are you referring to? Whatever part you want to talk about, man. He also contributes to the conversation by noting she sleeps pretty late (for work). He advises her that resting early is more effective than snacking on walnuts. He indirectly called her dumb without meaning it. Okay, fine, maybe he did mean it.

Ding Liao Liao is at a university to record for her show. She bumps into Jiang Kan and tells him to take good notes during class. She heard the guest speaker is godly (looks and brains). He smiles. It’s him.

Other happenings: Anyone noticed the very extra romantic BGM between Ding Man and Jiang Kan (when DLL asked DM about his ideal)? I get that BL is very popular, and sometimes I like my fanservice too, but don’t just squeeze it anywhere!!

[Ep2] Ding Man falls in love with Lian Ge Yao, who was saving a student from being bullied. He’s a taekwondo coach and she's an anchor, working in the same station as Ding Liao Liao.

After the university lecture, Jiang Kan calls out to Ding Liao Liao in front of everyone (her colleagues, his colleagues). The way he called her ~ ou! He tells her that he’ll be late tonight so don’t wait for him for dinner. When he walks away, he smirks. He did it on purpose! Could it be revenge for Ding Liao Liao gossiping with Ju Zi on how awkward he is? xD

For the next few days, Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan proceed with their petty fights. She sees him walking home and honks him in her car. She doesn’t drive him, she only compliments his diligence in working out. The next time, he sees her struggling at the elevator without her key card but he chooses to climb the stairs instead, leaving her stranded. He explains that he likes working out. Ha. Without her card, she has to climb the stairs too but her hands are full from parcels. He offers to help, but she’s stubborn and refuses him. He’s like Happy exercising. *Smirks*

Ding Liao Liao and Lian Ge Yao become besties. Both are righteous and will stand up to injustice. When no one supported Ding Liao Liao in exposing school violence for their program (afraid of the retribution??), it’s Lian Ge Yao, the anchor, who takes full responsibility and reports the news live with charisma. Lian Ge Yao is a girl crush!

[Ep3] Ding Liao Liao bemoans her upcoming interview with Jiang Kan. She’s certain that he’d give her attitude, but when she drops her documents, he’s the one helping her. Flutter. See, he’s not that bad. He can pick up papers too. He’s also impressed with her work ethics. As serious as he is with his profession, so is she.

Ding Liao Liao treats Jiang Kan to dinner. She stops by at a store to buy something first. I don’t know why, but I just love the scene of how she’s piling her bags and camera on him, and he’s such a gentleman about it. Since her points are expiring, she redeems them for two panda keychains. She gives him one and attaches it to his bag. A couple keychain, check! He’s very aware of it, but not her. However, they miss their dinner appointment because they saved someone on the streets. Jiang Kan gave heart compressions for eight minutes. His hands are numb and scratched. After the ambulance arrives, Ding Liao Liao disappears. He tries to call her but her phone is busy. Is he disappointed? Don’t be! Ding Liao Liao is still there! Carrying everything, including his bag, aw. She bought him bandages. Since his hands are still numb, she applies it for him too. Then when he loses grip on his backpack, she’s there to catch it for him. He’s falling in love ~ Back at home, he catches her sleeping on the couch. He wanted to close the TV for her, but startled her instead. He tells her it was tough today and wishes her goodnight.

DLL and JK had a conversation where he asked her if she’s afraid of helping him save the man. If they saved him and his ribs broke, they’d have to compensate. If they tried saving but he died, that’s even more compensation. Isn’t this notion so sad?

Ding Liao Liao takes the bus home. She’s people-watching to search for topics for her program. Then she catches a lady taking selfies with a sleeping Jiang Kan. Irritatedly, she taps the girl's shoulder and points to her matching panda keychain to tell the girl to scram. When he wakes up, she explains everything to prevent any misunderstandings, especially when there’s so many other empty seats available. She also offers to treat him to dinner at her favourite restaurant. This time they actually get to eat. He really likes the food. He also laughs at her jokes. She notices how pretty his smile is and tells him he should smile more.

By the way, there’s a character I’ve been ignoring: Hu Jia Ying. So annoying. Watch me ignore her existence for as long as I can.

[Ep4] The next day, Jiang Kan attempts to smile (as per Ding Liao Liao’s advice), but it’s one of the chilliest smiles Ju Zi has ever seen. She begs him to just yell at her and please don’t like her. She can only marry Liu Hao Ran. LOL. Girl, get in line xD.

Lian Ge Yao signs up for taekwondo classes. She fixes her makeup in the mirror, but it’s actually a two-way mirror. Ding Man is on the other side, amused and so in love. Then when it’s raining, he’d give her his umbrella without leaving his name. Lian Ge Yao is very interested in the angelic boy. Thanks to Ding Liao Liao, she gets a chance to meet Ding Man again. Lian Ge Yao even bites on the chance to rent their place (since she’s looking for one anyway).

The problem: there’s no empty room left. Since Ding Liao Liao suggested renting, she takes full responsibility and thus begins her plan to ~~seduce~~ convince Jiang Kan to room with Ding Man.

The next day, Ding Liao Liao dresses in all white, acting all demure, to offer Jiang Kan a ride to work. He’s a little startled, but takes the offer. He struggles with adjusting the passenger seat – it’s too far back. She leans over to pull the handle, which sends him forward, planting them face to face with barely an inch between them. Flutter.

After Jiang Kan is off work, Ding Liao Liao is still waiting for him. She’s been sleeping in the car for hours.... which is a big fat lie. She went to a spa and had skewers. She wanted to guilt-trip him into thinking he owes her so that he’d accept rooming with Ding Man, but this guy only says he’ll consider it. Ding Liao Liao is still hopeful, but she doesn’t know he found her spa and skewer receipts. He snickers at them. The next day, he refuses Ding Liao Liao.

Jiang Kan finally gives in (after Ding Liao Liao’s multiple attempts like using her beauty and sending him her pouty-cheek selfies). He will share a room with Ding Man but he has 20 conditions, which is very little for his standards. One of which is a ride to work. Ding Liao Liao eagerly volunteers since it’s convenient anyway. Ah, is this what he wanted? xD But he leaves home at 6am. Not convenient. The next morning at 6am, she’s still half asleep. She leans over to help him adjust his seat, but suddenly snaps awake at the memory of their last car ride. He remembers too. Shyly, he fixes the seat himself.

[Ep5] Ding Man bumps into Lian Ge Yao at the convenience store. She teases him that she planted a tracker on him. He’s gullible enough to believe her, which makes her laugh at his innocence. Shyly, he asks her why she chose to live at his place. She answers directly. “Because of you.” He thinks she’s joking. Oh, now he’s not gullible! He changes the conversation to ask if she needs a ride home. She steps in close, very close, to tell him her address. As he’s entering it in his phone, he realizes it's his address. She smiles up at him, angelically. Yes it is. She’s moving in today. This girl is hard to resist!

Ding Liao Liao is assigned to film Jiang Kan (against her desires, but in favour of his). He meets with her colleagues at a cafe. Hu Jia Ying (ugh) offers him to try her drink. Uh, no, he’ll try Ding Liao Liao’s. Yahoo! He doesn’t even look at her. Then Hu Jia Ying offers to be the one filming him since his lab has a capacity limit. Uh, no, Jiang Kan only wants Ding Liao Liao. He says it’s convenient anyway because she has to drive him.

Ding Man shows Lian Ge Yao around the house and asks for her feedback. “I’m happy about everything inside this house.” Especially him :). She notices he’s not looking at her. “Do I look scary?” Of course not. He finds her prettier and gentler in real life. Lian Ge Yao teases him that it’s the first time someone told her she doesn’t look good on TV. He’s flustered again and slips on the floor. He lies that he’s just doing a lunge for no reason at all.

Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan arrive home to see the lunge which looks like a kneel. Hehe.

Ding Liao Liao makes a passing comment that Jiang Kan and Lian Ge Yao look good together. DLL is the only one who’s blind. Ding Man and Lian Ge Yao adamantly disagree with Ding Liao Liao.

At night, Ding Liao Liao runs down tomorrow’s shooting with Jiang Kan. She tells him to be accustomed with the camera, but when he does look straight into the camera, it's her who’s nervous from his gaze. Ding Liao Liao, get accustomed with him (; She offers to treat him again if their project goes well. He casually asks Will it be skewers or spa? She chokes and guiltily leaves, shouting “See you tomorrow!” He smirks. I'm falling in love with the smirk.

The next morning, an auntie stops Ding Liao Liao to ask if he’s dropping off her ‘boyfriend’ at work again. Then a grandpa asks her if she’s driving her ‘husband' again. Instantly upgraded. Then a grandma asks her who the man next to her is. Ding Liao Liao tiredly answers, “Yes, yes, yes. Driving my husband to work.” Hahaha. After the grandma leaves, Ding Liao Liao's smile drops. She mutters to herself that she’s been single for 25 years, so this scene sure is surprising. Jiang Kan smirks. Hehe.

When Ding Liao Liao pulls up at their destination, she notifies Jiang Kan, “Husband, we’re......at the lab.” It’s a slip of the mouth xD. But soon it won’t be! Then inside the lab, his colleagues address her as sister-in-law. Soon! Haha. Ju Zi pities Ding Liao Liao and tries to clarify but Jiang Kan stops her. Ouu. Ding Liao Liao attempts to clarify for herself, but when someone calls her “sister-in-law”, she immediately answers. LOL. Jiang Kan smirks again, a big one this time! All the colleagues are supportive of the relationship, except Ju Zi. She tries to tell Ding Liao Liao that Jiang Kan is undateable, but he gives her extra work for yapping. Abusing his powers!

Ding Liao Liao has free tickets to a resort but no one to go with. It’s two days and one night. She asks Jiang Kan whether his female colleagues have time (since he knows their schedule). No, they’re not. But he’s free! Ou. And it’s settled. He’s going on the 2D1N trip with her.

The next morning, Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan are waiting for their tour bus. She’s dodging the glaring sun by using his shade. He notices and steps away. She’s playing on her phone and follows his shade until she’s annoyed that it keeps disappearing. Piqued, she looks up to find him staring at her. Flutter.

The tour bus arrives and it’s filled with couples. When Ding Liao Liao tries to clarify that they’re not dating, Jiang Kan stops her. He sure likes being misunderstood.

[Ep6] Ding Man and Lian Ge Yao:

Ding Man teaches Lian Ge Yao taekwondo. They have a match and she’s pretty good, but he might also be going easy on her. She ends up falling, but he catches her. His students (kindergartens) are cheering for them to kiss. Embarrassed, they quickly separate.

Back at home, Lian Ge Yao offers to cook for Ding Man, but she can’t even chop. Ding Man cooks instead. He’s good at it. She tries to help but she injures herself. He helps her disinfect and tells her to sit tight and wait for food. She cleared herself of kitchen duties. I am jealous.

Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan:

On the 2D1N trip, Ding Liao Liao and Jiang Kan have to sleep in the same room because the hotel is fully booked! Cdrama hotels are always bustling with business. The room is also decorated for couples. There’s “love” spelled on the bed. Awkwardly, Ding Liao Liao strikes up a conversation that the bed sure is big. They can roll all they want and won’t fall off. Lol. She meant she rolls around in her sleep, but she realizes how suggestive that sounded. She changes the topic to the sound proof walls. In the past, she’d always hear sounds ... Oops, the conversation drifts there again! She quickly lies that it’s “working” sound that she hears. Jiang Kan says working is good. She agrees! They should learn from them. And “work” xD. Ding Liao Liao cedes to talk and goes to wash her face. And let’s not talk about the condom that Jiang Kan found on the bed. He struggled to hide it from her. For the rest of the afternoon, they leave the room that’s giving them naughty thoughts to play by the beach.

Jiang Kan overhears a girl taking shots at Ding Liao Liao. She used to be Ding Liao Liao’s friend but it seems she stole her boyfriend. I thought she was single for 25 years. As revenge for Ding Liao Liao, Jiang Kan buys all the strawberry cake so that the girl doesn’t get any.

At the hotel, Jiang Kan takes the couch. Ding Liao Liao suggests that if it’s uncomfortable he could ... but her sentence trails because what’s the other option? Sleep with her? Slowly, he walks up to her. Is he taking her offer? His hands plant on either side of her. She squeezes her eyes shut as he leans in...closer and closer. He’s grabbing the pillow next to her to go back to sleep on the couch.

Ding Liao Liao can’t sleep and asks Jiang Kan to share his childhood story since she shared hers. He reveals that his parents were busy and so he was raised by his grandparents. They had an apricot tree. His grandparents would use apricot to make various pastes and medicine. Whenever he was sick, his grandma would make him “xiao tian xing” (Little Sweet Apricot). He was partly inspired by this to study medicine. He wishes to invent a children's medication that is effective and tastes good. Ding Liao Liao has drifted to sleep. He adds one last comment: “You resemble Little Sweet Apricot”.

The next morning Jiang Kan encounters the girl (who stole Ding Liao Liao’s boyfriend). Since she wants to win the teddy bear at the couple event, Jiang Kan will snatch it from her, just like the strawberry cake! As much as I don’t like the girl, I think the ex-boyfriend is equally at fault. Why no hate on the guy! The girl walks over and makes fun of Ding Liao Lia and asks about her relationship with Jiang Kan. Ding Liao Liao grumpily answers that they’re lining up for this couple event, what else can they be? The girl pities Jiang Kan for his taste. His days will be bitter.

Jiang Kan (with his arm around DLL's shoulder): I think it’s pretty sweet. (My) Girlfriend is sweet and so our days are sweet. As for you guys, why so sour?

Ding Liao Liao thanks Jiang Kan. And the couple event, they win! They’re the perfect team. The teddy beat is hers. Ding Liao Liao throws Jiang Kan a big hug. On the way back home, she falls asleep on the big bear. Jiang Kan smiles down at her. Aww.

[Ep7] Ding Liao Liao is unpacking. The teddy bear is on her bed! Ding Man is in her room and complaining about Jiang Kang. They just can’t get along: Jiang Kan is too picky for Ding Man; Ding Man is too sloppy for Jiang Kan. In a fight to show off who has the better flex, Ding Man ends up bidong-ing Jiang Kan, who’s uninterested in competing.

Lian Ge Yao overhears the boys' conversation that sounds a little too smutty. At night, her thoughts wander so much, she can’t sleep. The next morning, her misunderstanding compounds when Ding Man and Jiang Kan accidentally touch each other’s hands.

Ding Man: What now? When I don’t touch you, you’re not used to it?
Jiang Kan: You’re blushing. Are you shy?

Lian Ge Yao chokes. It’s confirmed, lol. Later on, she's convinced Jiang Kan cheated on Ding Man and has dumped him. This girl should write fanfics instead of reporting the news. During dinner, she pointedly tells Jiang Kan that this meal was prepared by Ding Man. Cue Jiang Kan’s one word reply: Salty. Lian Ge Yao grits her teeth and goads him that his life must be so sweet then. Jiang Kan is reminded of Ding Liao Liao’s childish interaction with a kid today, and smiles. His life is sweet xD. Liao Ge Yao is offended. How dare he smile? She gives him all the green veggies (FYI, giving someone a green hat is a reference to cheating). Jiang Kan nods and comments that green vegetables are healthy.

Lian Ge Yao comforts Ding Man that “it” isn't embarrassing. He thinks she’s talking about wearing his sister’s clothes (the full story: he didn’t want to go back to Jiang Kan's room for his own clothes, so he wore Ding Liao Liao’s clothes, but she had lectured him for his weird preference in her clothes to begin with). A little brother likes her big sister’s clothes, nothing wrong with that xD. Ding Man thanks Lian Get Yao for her understanding.

Ding Liao Liao and Liao Ge Yao are at karaoke. Both girls are inebriated. Ding Liao Liao drunk calls Jiang Kan, who rushes over to find her. Ding Man is also here for Liao Ge Yao. He follows her around and laughs at her cute drunk antics. She finally settles down to let Ding Man piggyback her home. She mumbles to him to not like Jiang Kan. He’s not worth it. But Ding Man never liked anyone else, but her.

[Ep8] The next day, the girls apologize to the boys (for being drunk?). Jiang Kan is the efficient one and suggests the girls to choose the man they’re responsible to apologize for. Lol, okay. How do people come up with these plots? Lian Ge Yao quickly chooses Ding Man. By default, Ding Liao Liao gets Jiang Kan, who is very satisfied.

Jiang Kan conduces Ding Liao Liao to accompany him to a bookstore. And it’s a date! It’s her repayment to him, but he ends up being jealous when she’s friendly with another guy. Ding Liao Liao helped the stranger pay for his book because he just came back from overseas and doesn’t have RMB. They also like the same author, Zhong Yu.

Lian Ge Yao and Ding Man are at home. She’s doing nothing but staring at him. He feels very self-conscious.

Lian Ge Yao (flips her hair): Don’t mind me. I’m just watching you.

Then Lian Ge Yao snaps her fingers and orders Ding Man to get dressed. She’s taking him to the movies. It’s a horror. He’s flinching at every scary scene. Lian Ge Yao lightly nudges him to tease him, and he jumps in his seat. She smiles and wraps her arm over his shoulder to protect him. Awww!

Ding Liao Liao nabs an exclusive interview with her favourite author, Zhong Yu. Liao Ge Yao and Ding Liao Liao squeal together. They're excited to meet the real author who must be handsome. The boys, however, are not excited. They’re jealous. Ding Man criticizes Ding Liao Liao’s logic on assuming the author is handsome. Jiang Kan, the science guy, concurs! The boys also take turns complimenting each other. Ding Man says not everyone can be like Jiang Kan with looks and brains. Jiang Kan says not everyone can be like Ding Man with a sunny personality and so dependable. LOL.

Zhong Yu appears on TV. The boys have their arms crossed as they swallow their words. Zhong Yu is pretty good looking. You guys look better! Ding Liao Liao exclaims that he’s the stranger. Lian Ge Yao is happy for Ding Liao Liao. Meanwhile our neglected boys resort to praising each other again. LOL.

The next day, the boys buy tickets for Zhong Yu’s fanmeet. The price doesn’t matter to Jiang Kan. If Ding Liao Liao is there, he will be there. During the fan meet, one special fan will be chosen to have “intimate" contact with Zhong Yu. The fans go crazy. Ding Liao Liao is one of them. She eagerly volunteers herself. Anxious, Jiang Kan stands up and shouts, “ME!” His low voice booms in the crowd of squealing girls. He’s chosen. Hahaha.

The intimate contact is to take heart pictures. Ding Man is embarrassed for his Jiang Kan. I like this blooming friendship! After the fanmeet, Jiang Kan waits for Ding Liao Liao (who’s with Zhong Yu) and deliberately tells her he forgot his keys. *HintHint* He loves this trick, doesn’t he? Lian Ge Yao and Ding Man join the conversation. Lian casually invites Zhong Yu over for dinner. Zhong Yu accepts only if they don’t mind. The girls don’t. The boys do. Hehe.

[Ep9] At the shared home, Zhong Yu joins our main characters for a game of “Of course!” Rule: no matter what the other person says (usually offensive and embarrassing), the player has to say “of course”. Ding Man chooses Jiang Kan. He has to say “of course” to choosing a dog over Ding Liao Liao. Jiang Kan asks for the punishment instead. Even for a game, he’d choose Ding Liao Liao :D. Jiang Kan and Zhong Yu even have a PK. Clearly both boys see each other as love rivals. Then the siblings attack each other. Ding Liao Liao is pretty good, she can easily reply “of course” to everything and anything, except to loving Jiang Kan. She can tell lies, but not the truth, eh. She finally says it, timidly. Jiang Kan has never smiled brighter. Zhong Yu notices.

Ding Liao Liao walks Zhong Yu to his car. Before he leaves, Zhong Yu reminds her to look at the people next to her. She doesn’t get it. She heads back home, and Jiang Kan is standing there, waiting for her. Look at him!!!

Lian Ge Yao is on a blind date (her aunt pressured her). The man wants her to be a housewife. This offends her. She reverses the condition to have him be the house-man. The man calls her rude. What now? So when he suggests it, it’s the norm, but when she suggests it, she’s being rude? He retorts that she’s close to 30. But he’s 36. Then he insults her that in the future she’ll have to resort to marrying a smelly and divorced fart. Ding Man to the rescue!

Ding Man tells Lian Ge Yao to not waste time on men who mouth-farts. If she really wants to date someone, she can date him :D. He quickly corrects himself and elaborates that he’s serious about her. He truly likes her. She was cool when she saved the student, cute when she cared about her appearance, charismatic when she’s serious. He goes on to say that that man was no good. Actually other men are no good either. Lian Ge Yao is moved and her reply is simple, “Let’s try”. Drama’s first couple is born! At home, she kisses him to check if this was a dream. It’s not. When she’s in her own room, she’s swimming in her bed, squealing at how cute he is.

Jiang Kan and Ding Liao Liao have a filming event at a daycare/school. He’s the doctor teaching kindergarteners about viruses in the form of a play. There’s a boy who is isolated. The kids don’t like him, which is impeding the filming. A staff member suggests leaving the boy out. Hu Jia Ying and Ding Liao Liao both object immediately. The mean girl has a redemption scene! Wow. Show, I’m giving you bonus points. I would assume Hu Jia Ying was bullied and sympathizes with the boy.

The play begins soon. Ding Liao Liao asks Jiang Kan for help to tie her hair. It’s hard in her virus outfit. She doesn’t get to finish her sentence and he already encircled her (and her hair). Ding Liao Liao was nervous the entire time. She wasn’t expecting him to be so close. During the play, the ostracized kid is the superhero medicine pill who kills the virus (= Ding Liao Liao). This play is so cute. The kid cheers warmly for the boy

It’s night. Lian Ge Yao and Ding Man are on their way home. He gives her lollipops (lots of lollipops). She chooses her favourite flavour: strawberry. She lets him try it too, but via her lips. “Is it sweet?” Ding Man replies that he hasn’t tasted it yet, and kisses her deeper.

Ding Liao Liao spots the kissing and drags Jiang Kan to hide. She doesn’t see the man’s face, but Jiang Kan recognizes the clothes. It’s the same set as Ding Liao Liao wore last Wednesday. Wow. He remembers those details too. Ding Liao Liao realizes it’s her brother and yells at him. Jiang Kan fails to stop Ding Liao Liao and now the sister has confronted the brother.

[Ep10] Ding Liao Liao cannot understand how her brother, who is inferior to her in every way possible, landed such a beautiful and talented woman like Lian Ge Yao. Jiang Kan nods at everything she’s saying. Ding Man tells him to stop it. He’s looking more and more like a brother-in-law. Lol. No matter what, though, Ding Liao Liao can’t process the impossible. Ding Man and Lian Ge Yao dating is like her and Jiang Kan dating! Im-possible! Jiang Kan just deserts her in the living room.

In the morning, Ding Liao Liao sees Ding Man helping Lian Ge Yao wear her shoes, which confirms her nightmare is her reality. It’s like a pig eating someone else’s precious white cabbage. Future prediction: Ding Liao Liao will be a pig who ate up Jiang Kan, the cabbage. She also shares an observation with Jiang Kan. No matter how amazing people are, they lose 50% of their mobility once they date (e.g. Lian Ge Yao having her shoes put on by Ding Man). Ding Liao Liao gives Jiang Kan an example. If she was dating right now, then the strawberry that’s in her hand won’t be fed by herself, but by her boyfriend. Jiang Kan feeds her the strawberry. :D She’s a little flustered, but she finds the strawberry sweet. These Ding siblings and their indirect strawberry skinships.

Ding Liao Liao is annoyed with Ding Man and Lian Ge Yao's display of love. Ding Man tells her to find a man and so Ding Liao Liao turns to Jiang Kan to hold his hand. With her puppy eyes, she asks him to introduce his friends to her (if she can’t marry in the future). He tells her to sleep because in her dream, she can have anything. LOL.

Ding Liao Liao helps Hu Jia Ying with her OT. Aw. Unfortunately, Hu Jia Ying’s credits are stolen by her superior. Jiang Kan doesn’t care much about Hu Jia Ying, he only reminds her that if she wants to give away her efforts that’s her business, but don’t disrespect Ding Liao Liao who stayed up with her. Always in the best interest of Ding Liao Liao.

During the interview, the doctors/researchers are asked to share tips about their homemade meals. Each of them talk about their wife. They start their sentence with “我家” (wo jia) which means “my family” to describe their wives. It’s an extra term of endearment. Jiang Kan also starts with “我家” and then he glances at Ding Liao Liao. He smiles and adds that he doesn’t have a wife yet, but he does have someone in his home ("family") who makes simple dishes that remind him of the taste of home. Then the interviewer asks about their profile pictures because. Jiang Kan’s is himself (which was a recent change). His “friend” took it for him. The interviewer asks if this friend is his girlfriend. He doesn't’ quite deny it, and explains it’s the same friend who makes really good food. Ding Liao Liao is all three descriptors: the one who cooks well, took the picture for him, and his girl(-)friend.

Ding Liao Liao twists her ankle after she protects Hu Jia Ying from a perverted director. Jiang Kan takes her to a (traditional?) doctor who’s about to align her bones with force. He hasn’t even touched her and Ding Liao Liao is screaming and leaning onto Jiang Kan for emotional support. The doctor tells Jiang Kan to control his girlfriend. He nods and she clutches his sleeve. When the doctor twists back her angle right, her cries pierce the room and her arms tighten around Jiang Kan. He’s shy, and pats her lightly. The doctors sighs, couples these days for being so lovely. Jiang Kan also piggybacks her home. Ding Man may have made Ding Liao Liao envious, but she’s also making the doctor and the girls who pass by envious of her.

Our limping Ding Liao Liao receives a present from Lian Ge Yao. Elated, she wonders if it’s too late to break her other leg to get more presents. She gets a knuckle to her head from Jiang Kan. He doesn’t want her injured. He also tells her that he’s here for her if she needs anything. The moment he leaves the room, she’s hopping to get around. She almost slips. Thankfully, Jiang Kan is there to catch her. For the rest of her recovery period, Jiang Kan is caring for her, cooking for her, and watching over her at night. Mobility decreased by 50%. Literally..

It’s Christmas. Lian Ge Yao has OT, but no worries, Ding Man will dress up in a bear to give her a Christmas surprise. She’s absolutely touched and kisses him.

[Ep11] Ding Liao Liao is still stuck at home (but isn’t she walking fine?). Jiang Kan decorates the house for Christmas to surprise Ding Liao Liao. Then the electricity is out. In the dim room with Christmas lights glistening (from battery, in case you’re wondering), Jiang Kan stares at her. They’re mere inches away. She closes her eyes, ready for the kiss. He smiles, and all he does is remove the white fragment from her hair and wish her Merry Christmas. Later at night, Ding Liao Liao has a spring dream: she almost kissed Jiang Kan. The next morning, she leaves home at 6am in order to avoid Jiang Kan.

Ding Man and Lian Ge Yao smile knowingly at Jiang Kan. The decorations are telling. Jiang Kan replies straightforwardly, “I like Ding Liao Liao” I like straightforward!

Ding Liao Liao is sleeping at work. She’s too early. Hu Jia Ying is next to arrive and she thanks Ding Liao Liao. She admits to disliking her. She didn’t understand why everyone liked her when she (Hu) is clearly smarter and prettier. Hul! She understands now. Ding Liao Liao will always do her best at everything. Hu Jia Ying also tells Ding Liao Liao that Jiang Kan likes her.

Ju Zi asks Jiang Kan if he has any advice to help a colleague pursue a girl. Jiang Kan doesn’t have any experience. He’s only ever been pursued. LOL. Don’t want to talk to this guy. When Ju Zi gives her advice to the colleague, Jiang Kan diligently and secretly takes notes. He’s also being advised by Ding Man, ou!

Jiang Kan uploads a picture of him and Ding Liao Liao. Remember his profile was vast emptiness in Ep1. Everyone can tell he likes Ding Liao Liao, except Ding Liao Liao. She’s fuming. At what? He used such a fat picture of her. He’s upset he didn’t get her hint and promises to delete it immediately.

Second couple: Behind closed doors, we hear banging noises. Lian Ge Yao asks "Is this okay?” Ding Man replies, "Let me try again.” *Bang Bang Bang* Omo! Actually, Ding Man is hammering the bed. With an actual hammer. The bed is loose. He suggests they could buy a new bed. She agrees. She does want a bigger bed. There’s a glint in Ding Man’s eyes. She clarifies that she likes rolling in bed. Girls in this drama, lol. Then she tells him to 拖 (tuo). He thinks she meant to strip. And so he excitedly strips. Off with the first layer! Uh. She meant to mop the floor from the dust. When he leaves she laughs at his adorableness. She was being suggestive on purpose. He also left behind his plaid shirt, haha.

Ding Liao Liao apologizes to Jiang Kan for her tone earlier. Jiang Kan says it’s his fault and so he’ll treat her to dinner tomorrow. She hesitates and accepts. It’s finally sinking in that Jiang Kan likes her. In her room, she plays with her big teddy bear. “You look so handsome, you save people, and you treat me well, so for your confession, I will accept! You’re welcome!” At the balcony over, Jiang Kan glances at her room. Did he hear? His expression says so.

The next day, Lian Ge Yao goes over the plan with Ding Liao Liao for her birthday. They’re camping and watching the meteor shower. Ding Liao Liao shyly suggests inviting Jiang Kan, but Lian Ge Yao says he’s busy. Ding Liao Liao hides her obvious disappointment. Lian Ge Yao also teases Ding Liao Liao for her pretty attire. Is there something special going on today? Yes! A date with Jiang Kan.

Jiang Kan and Ding Liao Liao are having barbecue, followed by an obligatory conversation on how cancerous the food is. Anyway, Ding Liao Liao asks him if he’ll be joining her birthday party. If he's late, she can accommodate. He says he’s busy though, but adds, “Ding Liao Liao, do you want me to go?” She makes an excuse that it’s fun with more people. Eventually, he’s drunk and falls asleep on her shoulder (when she was ready for a kiss). Second time this episode, man. And where’s the confession!

Ding Liao Liao is distracted on her birthday, distracted by Jiang Kan’s absence. She takes a picture of the moon and sends it to him, along with a lot of voice messages. She tells him to come if he finishes early. But he hasn’t replied to any of her messages. She gives up and retrieves the cake from the trunk, but it’s not there. She finally gets a reply. It’s a location pin. It leads her to Jiang Kan ~ And he’s got her cake. “Happy birthday.”

[Ep12] Ding Liao Liao doesn’t understand something: “Just how important am I that the busy Dr. Jiang rushed here to celebrate my birthday?” She’s so cute with him :D. He describes his way here. There were a lot of stars. He had wondered if she would be sillily thinking when the meteor shower would arrive. She denies two things: 1) that she’s not silly and 2) she was thinking about him.

The cake is apricot flavoured and he also has apricot wine. He’s giving his “Little Sweet Apricot" his favourite food. At the mention of wine, Ding Liao Liao recalls last night... Her sentence trails at what he did to her. He fills in, “Ding Liao Liao, when I kissed you yesterday I was sober.” They kissed?

Jiang Kan begins his love confession. Research used to be the most romantic thing for him. He didn’t care for real romance but that all changed when he met Ding Liao Laio. She turned his world into disarray. She’s unpredictable and that made him curious. He wanted to explore her more like she’s his research. Ding Liao Liao asks if he found his answers to his questions. He found only one answer: she is the solution to all his problems. His last love line:

有且仅有存在且唯一 The Chinese part is math lexicon. And guys, I am not a math girl. I try. 有且仅有 should be the symbol ∃ which means “there exists”. His entire saying should be ∃! xP(x) which means there exists a unique x satisfying P(x). She is the one and only x that can satisfy him. :D

Like I said, I don’t math, so correct me if I’m wrong.

Our couple is together! They walk back to the campsite. It’s cold and so he gives her his jacket. Now that she’s cozy, she shares her warmth with him by wrapping his arm. Jiang Kan asks, "Why not share some more warmth?” He spread his hand, inviting hers. They hold hands ~

The meteor shower has arrived. Jiang Kang doesn’t make a wish. His wish already came true. Ding Liao Liao makes a wish, which is to strengthen his wish. Squee. That’s cute. As for our other couple, Ding Man wishes for Lian Ge Yao to have sweet dreams who's sleeping on his shoulder. She’s not asleep, though. She hears his wish and smiles.

The boys share the tent. Both are daydreaming about the woman they love until they catch each other smiling face-to-face. Meanwhile the girls are having fun with each other. Screw the boys! But the boys keep interrupting them. First it was Ding Man who wanted water, then it was Jiang Kan who wanted cups. And each time, the boys blame the other for the errand.

After a long night, the boys finally settle in bed. Ding Man curiously asks Jiang Kan about his sister. Why does he like her? Because she’s bright and smiles sweetly. Scene switches to Ding Liao Liao laughing loudly with her mouth wide open. Then he says she’s always optimistic. Scene switches to her pessimistically complaining about work. Ding Man doesn’t think he’s got his sister right at all and goes to praise Lian Ge Yao who’s incomparable, and most importantly, she only has eyes for him. Scene switches to Lian Ge Yao who’s admiring her idols.

The uncle is back! He calls Jiang Kan his senior and so everyone else has to call him Uncle Jiang. LOL. Ding Liao Liao tries to tell her uncle she’s dating Jiang Kan but Uncle speaks first. Men like him and Jiang Kan are no good. They only have eyes for research. Very boring.

Ding Liao Liao comforts Jiang Kan that what matters is how she views him. He’s the best, the warmest, and the most considerate boyfriend. She leans up to kiss him, but Uncle knocks on the door and so Jiang Kan reflexively pushes Ding Liao Liao away and she falls back hilariously.

Uncle is surprised at the keychain on Jiang Kan’s backpack. Didn’t he say keychains were a hassle? The uncle is reminded of Ding Liao Liao who loved these little ornaments. He was going to share more, but he realizes it’s late and Jiang Kan has his laptop open for work. But Jiang Kan closes his laptop. He wants to hear more of Ding Liao Liao’s childhood. He’s so interested in learning, he stayed up pretty late and woke up the latest. A rarity.

The uncle is finally gone. Ding Liao Liao sits on Jiang Kang’s lap and asks him what he wants to do right at this moment. He says sleep. He stayed up late last night. She gives him another chance. He says he has a report to write. On the last chance, she teaches him. She kisses him. And this time uncle sees the kiss. Uncle has to call Ding Liao Liao auntie now? xD

There’s a bit more to our story.

The couples are interviewed on their experience in house-sharing, which is now cohabitation. Ding Man reveals he’s marrying Lian Ge Yao next year. Ding Liao Liao is asked what she wants to say the most to her partner. Jiang Kan answers first, “Tomorrow I want to see you too.” And that’s what everyone wants to say.

Remarks

[First Impression (Ep1-5)] This is one of those simple romances that will never hit it big, but it’s got that subtle sweetness to it. It’s worth a look! There’s two couples. Everyone is a visual (too bad it's disturbed by the terrible filter). The first couple has the quiet, unapproachable guy who will smirk at every cute thing the FL does. His smirk gets me smirking every time. The second couple has the unvarnished girl who will flirt with the cute, sunny 2ML. Both couples are sweet!

My favourite scene so far is when all the aunties and grandpas and grandmas assume the FL is driving her husband (ML) to work (Ep5).

P..S. In one of my next lives, I’d like to have an uncle who’d give me a big house and drop a handsome and smart guy to live with me. Please and thank you. Muah.
