Fang Li remembers how Luo Yan had ruined her high school year. Every meeting with him brought her bad luck. She used to take little bribes as the student in charge of the PA system (e.g. playing certain songs). One day Luo Yan finds her accounting journal and from then on she’s been under his threat to do his evil bidding (like stealing a teacher’s wig and announcing to the whole school about his baldness).
The more Fang Li tries to avoid Luo Yan, the more she sees into him. The more she tells herself to stop thinking of him, the more she imagines him. She finally bumps into him at the library (after he rejected to add Sun Jia Yi on WeChat). Luo Yan asks Fang Li for his shirt back. Fang Li says, soon. He’s like Did you send it to Africa? Ha.
The Blast. Fang Li doesn’t have the extra money to send his shirt to the dry cleaners (let alone Africa). Cleverly, she uses her chemistry know-how to create a potion to wash away the stain. Do I hear a remix of PSY in the background? Suddenly, there’s an explosion. Luo Yan runs to the source of the blast. He saves her without knowing who she was. Fang Yi, who’s barely conscious, mumbles about his shirt.
[Ep2] As a result of the explosion, Fang Li might have to be expelled. It’s all because of Luo Yan’s testimony that he only saw her in the lab (which is true for him). She swears it wasn’t her who detonated the lab.
Luo Yan and Fang Yan are dating? The teacher has a new hypothesis. He questions why Luo Yan never told him they were high school alumni. Luo Yan tells him to get to the point. Teacher accuses Luo Yan is actually dating Fang Li and they bombed the lab together. Lol. What.
A Relationship He Can’t Shake Off. Fang Li readily assumes her role as Luo Yan’s fake girlfriend. It’s to pull him down with her. She wants him to clarify to the teacher it wasn’t her who caused the explosion. He can’t because he didn't see anything else and now her girlfriend antics have gone too far. He chases her through the rain and forces her to record a clip of herself to admit they’re not dating. The teacher eyes the clip skeptically. The poor girl is weeping in the video like he bullied her. Poor Luo Yan, no one believes him when he says her tears are rain water, lol. Luo Yan just can't seem to shake her off.
Fang Li blocks Luo Yan. He doesn’t like being blocked so he hacks her computer. After that she thinks it’s him who deleted her lab report (which she worked together with Su Qi Yang, a peer who seems to like her). She tries to explain to the teacher but he calls her a liar again.
A Relationship He Really Can’t Shake Off. Fang Li burns with anger and the target of her wrath is Luo Yan. She walks right into the basketball court and pulls Luo Yan for a kiss. The crowd cheers. She snaps a picture of their kiss.
[Ep22] Highschool. Fang Li works part time at a supermarket selling fish. Fang Li stops a thief from stealing and the thief ends up threatening her. Luo Yan quickly clears it up by asking her for fish. Fang Li tells him she has plans of posting pictures of the thief all over the supermarket. That sounds dangerous. Luo Yan asks her if she can stop making him worried about her. The next day, Luo Yan overhears the thief planning to attack Fang Li. He calls the police on them.
[Ep24] Luo Yan is sulky. Fang Li has a secret album on her phone full of pictures of her first love. Luo Yan thinks it's Su Qi Yang.
Fang Li riles with anger when Luo Yan makes her fill out a survey as if he's testing her love for him. She’s later jealous when she sees him with Sun Jia Yi. Luo Yan catches Fang Li in time and says the one who’s jealous is him. He wants to know about her first love. Fang Li lights up. She’s excited to show him her first love. Luo Yan doesn’t share the excitement.
Fei Fei finally gets to perform on stage as a pivotal character. During practice, Shi Xu hops on stage to ask her to be his girlfriend. She agrees!
It’s finally time for Fang Li to show Luo Yan her first love. To his delight, it’s all pictures of him. Then we get Fang Li’s perspective of high school.

[Ep1] The Kiss. Fang Li and Luo Yan meet at a university party. Fang Li politely greets him, “Long time no see,” but it seems like he has no memory of her. Then Luo Yan chooses her when he has to kiss someone for three seconds (it's a drinking game). 3, 2, 1. Kiss! After they separate, she accidentally dirties his shirt and now she has to pay for the cleaning fees. Luo Yan tells his friend why he chose Fang Li: she looked like she didn’t fit there. He’s right; she doesn’t fit there. She’s in the same dorm as the three girls from the party but they all hate her especially now that Luo Yan (the school’s hottest boy) kissed her.

The teacher shows him proof that he is at fault with the photo of them kissing. Lol. Okay, alright. Our teacher is gossipy, eh. Fang Li plays the card of pity and pouts that it has nothing to do with her boyfriend. She’ll clean the garden all by herself. Teacher doesn’t like mean boyfriends. Lol. Luo Yan is forced to help.
[Ep4] Fang Li doesn’t get her scholarship anymore after her improper usage of the lab.
Luo Yan fights with Sheng Ze because he tattled on Fang Li (which had made her cry).
University. In the name of the app, Fang Li and Luo Yan have a date. The two of them take this date seriously. Before the date, Fang Li bumps into Sheng Ze and accidentally leaves a lipstick mark on his shirt. Sheng Ze still seems to have an agenda on her but Luo Yan intercepts, “My apologies, my girlfriend made your shirt dirty.” Fang Li whispers to Luo Yan they’re not real but Luo Yan whispers back that his boyfriend duties began when they set their date.
Shi Xu asks Qi Fei Fei out to confess. They’re both pretty drunk and he kisses her. The two of them blackout after that. He asks about it the next morning. She hints that it’s okay if he doesn’t want to be friends anymore. He doesn’t get the hint and says he wants to be her friend. Lol.
Highschool. The teacher lectures Luo Yan for hitting Sheng Ze. Violence doesn’t solve anything. The fight was for Fang Li. Luo Yan speaks up for Fang Li and vows that they’re not dating. He unrequitedly admires her but whether that admiration will turn into something more in university will be another story. The next day Fang Li moves her desk back to be next to his. The teacher is no longer penalizing her.
University. Luo Yan misunderstands Fang Li gave a loving present to Sheng Ze too. She had given them both bookmarks but only Luo Yan’s was a heart. He throws her present away right in front of her (again).
[Ep14] Luo Yan happily goes through his morning routine because of what happened last night. Fang Li is conscious of what she said last night too. When they meet, it’s Luo Yan who’s more nervous. He tries to hold her hand but chickens out. He’s never been this nervous before.

Memories are Back. Fang Li is about to fall in the water. Luo Yan's automatic reaction is to save her and in reverse, he falls into the water. She reaches out for him but misses, Fang Li jumps in the water to save him. At home, Luo Yan recalls the moment Fang Li saved him, he felt warmth. He wonders if she used to be important to him.
The next morning, Luo Yan overhears Fang Li confronting Sun Jia Yi about deleting her report but she has no proof. Luo Yan steals Fang Li's laptop without telling her he’s recovering her report. He successfully recovers the file and Fang Li gets her deserved grade back.
The Real Culprit. Luo Yan finds out Shi Xu is the culprit behind the explosion. He was making ice-cream in the lab (for Sun Jia Yi). Fang Li and Luo Yan’s names are cleared. The teacher makes her thank Luo Yan. Fang Li grits her gratitude through her clenched teeth. However, she really is grateful for him. Luo Yan catches her staring with wistful eyes and begs her to not give him goosebumps. Lol. He asks her if he really was that mean to her in the past. She scoffs, do you even need to ask? Yes, because he's got a case of amnesia.
[Ep4] Fang Li doesn’t get her scholarship anymore after her improper usage of the lab.
Dance. Luo Yan got an approval to cancel a dance course but when he notices Fang Li is in the same class (without a dance partner), he folds his letter and naturally takes her hand to waltz. Even if he has to suffer a nosebleed from her, he’ll continue attending class to be with her.
Sun Jia Yi makes Fang Li buy the wrong dress to embarrass her in front of the entire class. Next, the teacher makes her dance with Luo Yan and criticizes them for not looking at each other while dancing. He also accidentally rips her dress.
Luo Yan, a Charmer. Fang Li gets off late from work and thugs block her path. Luo Yan protects her by pretending to be her boyfriend. He followed her because he’s remorseful about ripping her dress. He offers to buy her a new one but she doesn’t want his kindness. She continues to wear her unique dress to class (which her friend help fix). Suddenly, Luo Yan shows up in class in a matching outfit. Omg so sweet!! While they’re dancing, Fang Li meets his eyes and calls him ugly in his outfit. Luo Yan returns the insults. I only hear sweetness in their words.
After class, Luo Yan takes Fang Li on his bike. She’s treating him to lunch but it’s at the restaurant she just quit. The boss wouldn’t pay the twenty-three days she worked because she didn’t work the full month. Luo Yan solves it for her. He threatens the boss he’ll make all his friends come eat at this restaurant for free. The boss opts for the better option: giving Fang Li her (deserved!) pay.
On the bike ride home, Fang Li thanks Luo Yan properly. Luo Yan doesn’t say anything as he rides in front of her. Once home, Luo Yan tries to find anything that will bring back his memory of Fang Li.
[Ep5] Jealousy. Luo Yan is jealous when Fang Li cheers on Su Qi Yang in martial arts. He duels Su Qi Yang. Shi Xu thought his buddy is getting revenge for him. Unfortunately, Luo Yan is flipped and loses to Su Qi Yang.
Luo Yan admits to Fang Li he really doesn't remember her. He starts following her around until she tells him their past.
Highschool.
When Luo Yan first transferred to her school, he was her deskmate. Everyone wanted to see his sleeping face and so she would charge students $5 RMB per minute of his angelic face. When he found out, he tattled to the teacher.
The teacher is actually Luo Yan's guardian (he's his father's friend and is taking care of him for the time being). He gives him Fang Li's confiscated phone so that they can make up. The teacher vouches for Fang Li that she's not that bad. When Luo Yan returns the phone, Fang Li's grandmother asks Luo Yan to come in for fruits. Fang Li immediately helps him decline which makes him even more eager to stay. The lights flicker out. Fang Li stands on the couch to check the lightbulb and loses her balance. Luo Yan catches her in his arm – lights flicker (romance flickers) – but then he immediately drops her (on to the couch at least).
Present.
After Fang Li tells him everything, she asks him if he feels just slightly guilty towards her. He doesn’t. Instead, he twists her words to fit his logic. He confiscated her accounting journal for her own good because she was falling deeper into corruption. Fang Li storms off.
[Ep6] High school. Over the weekend, Luo Yan helps Fang Li study English because she's at the bottom of the class. He even bought her a dictionary.
Present.
Luo Yan is once again jealous Fang Li is hanging out with Su Qi Yang. Luo Yan and Fang Li were originally cleaning the dance studio. He drops the mop and she stomps on one end making the other end fly up and hit her nose. He wanted to apologize but he couldn't bring himself to it especially when he sees how close she is to Su Qi Yang.
Luo Yan opens up to a peer who’s studying psychology. He asks her to deduce his "friend" for him. This friend of his wants to help someone but that person will always think of him as a devil. He also wants to apologize but he always messes up. The psychologist student knows he's talking about himself. She tells him to smile more, and just be friendly. It’s as simple as that.
The next scene, Luo Yan cranks a smile towards Fang Li. Lol. She finds it creepy. He also isn't saying the nicest thing with a fake smile on. Fang Li tells him the truth that his smile is chilling and so anything nice he says sounds like a mockery. Fang Li thinks his effort to be friendly stems from him trying to impress a girl (the psychologist). She's right about the first part. He's trying to impress her. She offers to teach him true friendliness in exchange for his help with the technical aspect of her magazine project. He gladly accepts the offer.
An Egg. First, she teaches him how to compliment others. He calls her hair messy and attire tacky. She sighs. He's like I can't possibly lie, can I? Sighing again, she asks him to compliment the girl he likes. Luo Yan looks at Fang Li and describes her as optimistic with perseverance. She's also an egg. Lol. She looks strong on the outside but she's weak on the inside. With one touch, she can easily cracks. Once she cracks, she's clear as a crystal with a soft heart. Aw! Luo Yan passes the compliment test with flying colours.
Fang Li treats Luo Yan to a feast to thank him for helping her with her magazine. It's ramen at a convenience store. Her hair is falling into her noodles. Luo Yan softly combs her hair back and tells her to continue to eat. Dude, how can she? The psychologist student enters the convenience store and Fang Li quickly encourages him to take what she taught him to impress that girl. Luo Yan is mad at her when he learns that’s the reason she helped him. Luo Yan's one step forward is now two steps back.
[Ep7] Luo Yan helps Fang Li with her English homework. She smiles up at him and recalls his personality: doing nice things while saying awful things. That’s the nicest memory she has of him thus far. She wants to treat him for food again (not ramen!). After he considerately chooses a restaurant suitable for her wallet, she ditches him upon seeing Su Qi Yang.
Su Qi Yang offers to treat Luo Yan with her because he was partners with her for the project and so the three of them have lunch. Fang Li enjoys her food until the men start fighting for her. They both want her to sit beside them. Fang Li awkwardly sits in the middle.
Afterwards, Luo Yan asks Fang Li if she invited Su Qi Yang to showoff their love. Annoyed, she tells him yes. Luo Yan is dejected. The next day, he skips out on dance class and completely evades her.
Shi Xu is at the orders of Sun Jia Yi to approach Qi Fei Fei, Fang Li’s best friend. He deliberately leaves his wallet at her store so that she can return it. However, she returns it to another man (in a similar tracksuit). It was funny how the two men fought in similar clothes, lol. He loses his wallet but assures he won’t file a complaint against her and that’s how he gets Qi Fei Fei’s friend request on WeChat.
Shi Xu invites Luo Yan to the cafe Qi Fei Fei works at. He affirms to Luo Yan that Fang Li won’t be there. But she is because she’s covering Qi Fei Fei’s shift. A simple touch of their hands when she hands him his watermelon juice gives them both jitters. Luo Yan leaves. At home, he googles how to forget someone. Answer: find their faults and magnify it. He lists a ton of her faults but when he sees her snacking, he finds her cute all over again. That is, until he sees Fang Li with Su Qi Yang.
Su Qi Yang asks Fang Li for dinner. She thinks it’s a confession and dresses up for it but it’s actually a goodbye. He’s studying abroad with another girl. This dinner was to resolve any misunderstandings between them if she had any.
Qi Fei Fei suddenly remembers where she had seen Su Qi Yang. It was with another girl. She alerts Shi Xu and Luo Yan that Su Qi Yang is a cheater. Luo Yan runs to find Fang Li. She’s in the middle of the street. She’s too sad to care about traffic. Luo Yan lifts her up in his arms to carry her out of harm's way. She cries that her first love has ended. He corrects her that it hasn’t even started.
Still teary, Fang Li wishes Luo Yan a Happy Birthday. He’s incredulous. He never told anyone his birthday so there’s no way she knows. It is him who told her, though (according to Fang Li). She asks him why he doesn’t celebrate it. His mother died on his birthday. I misunderstood this. The words he used is that his mother "left" and I thought he meant she died but she literally left the country. Fang Li changes the topic to the stars and Luo Yan compares how her problems are small compared to the galaxy. Fang Li genuinely thanks him for his comforting words.
Since it isn’t past twelve, Fang Li buys Luo Yan a birthday present. It’s a plant. Luo Yan hugs her.
[Ep8] Highschool. Luo Yan is upset because of the parent teacher interview. His parents won’t be coming because they’re divorced. Fang Li takes him to the beach to lift his mood. He refuses to admit he’s happy just being with her. Them playing in the beach made me smile.
Is Drama just going to ignore what happened at the end of Ep7? What does Fang Li think of the hug? A thank you hug?
University.
Fang Li is heartbroken. She barely eats and over exerts herself in sports. Qi Fei Fei wants her to cry it out so the four of them (Luo Yan and Shi Xu) drink together. Seeing Fang Li sad, Luo Yan is angry. He curtly asks her just what is it about Su Qi Yan she loves so much to lose herself. Fang Li cries and leaves. She also gets into a fight with Qi Fei Fei.
Shi Xu chides his buddy for being too harsh on Fang Li so Luo Yan takes her to an aquarium because he knows she likes the ocean. Luo Yan takes a picture of her smiling. Fang Li notices and tells him to take more for her.
Fang Li starts crying. Luo Yan puts earphones on her so that she can cry comfortably. Softly, she lies her head on his shoulder. She tells Luo Yan she’s useless, worthless, awful. No one will like her. She’s a failure and now even her best friend won’t talk to to her. Luo Yan refutes her every point. She’s really warm, she’s really courageous. She isn’t worthless; he remembers the time she brought him to the beach to cheer him up. He will remember it forever because those are one of his happiest memories. He knows how to compliment!
Luo Yan pats his chest for her to lean on. He coolly slips his hand in his pocket to wait for her. She slowly rests her head there. Isn’t it tempting to just leave the guy hanging and not lie your head on his chest, heh. Before they leave the aquarium, he buys her a dolphin keychain.
Also, Luo Yan has a mini greenhouse (a glass case) for the plant Fang Li gave him. He also changes his profile picture to the one they took in the aquarium together.
[Ep9] Highschool. Luo Yan and Fang Li are called to the office because they’re suspected of dating. Luo Yan smiles the whole time he’s being lectured. Fang Li ain’t smiling. In fact, she’s so upset she drags her desk as far from him as possible. She tells him the distance between their desks right now is the definition of her innocence.
University. Over lunch, Qi Fei Fei asks Fang Li if she’s completely over Su Qi Yang. Yup. It’s like she hit the reboot button. She’s completely over him. There’s a small smile on her lips as she peeks over at Luo Yan. He smiles too and looks elsewhere. Aw! When Qi Fei Fei and Shi Xu leave the table, Fang Li feels awkward being alone with Luo Yan. She inhales her food. He holds her hand down to tell her to slow down. Luo Yan asks, "Do you like me?” Gulping, her innate reaction is to answer no. In her mind, she knows she likes him.
Luo Yan asks Fang Li for lunch (again? or that was breakfast?). However, he bails out without a word when someone reminds him it’s his younger brother’s birthday. When Fang Li bumps into him again, it’s night and he’s drunk. He’s throwing a random tantrum at the hair salon for not cutting his hair when the place is closed. Fang Li takes him back to his home and trims his hair for him. She puts him to sleep. When she leaves his home, she meets Luo Yan’s father at the door. She explains to Dad she’s only a friend of his and the father tells him how he got into a fight in highschool (that may have led to his amnesia?). He also gives her Luo Yan’s wallet which he left behind at dinner.
Luo Yan wakes up at home and smiles at the warm drink and food Fang Li had prepared.
Qi Fei Fei finds Luo Yan's wallet in Fang Li's bag. She immediately connects the dot with Fang Li's reaction that she likes Luo Yan. Fang Li grimaces. She's too scared to like Luo Yan in case it ends up like Su Qi Yang again. The girls proceed to test Luo Yan's feelings by using a fake boyfriend to make him jealous.
Shi Xu figures out the fake boyfriend is only to make Luo Yan jealous. Luo Yan doesn't get it. Don't worry, Shi Xu has his back and gives Fang Li a concert ticket in Luo Yan's name. However, Luo Yan doesn't go. He is with his father to pick up his mother from the airport. However, she never took the plane. Therefore, Fang Li doesn't get to see Luo Yan and Luo Yan doesn't get to see his mother.
Shi Xu invites the gang to iceskating. He has it all planned that he'll teach Qi Fei Fei and Luo Yan will teach Fang Li. However, we have a new guy! He's Sheng Ze. He's their high school senior and perfectly fits the description of Fang Li's fake boyfriend. Upon seeing him, Luo Yan seems to remember more of his forgotten memories.
[Ep10] Highschool. Sheng Ze was jealous of how easily Luo Yan got his popularity. Not just among the girls, the guys like him too. During class, he can take a snooze and still solve the question Sheng Ze can't memorize. Luo Yan is the reason Sheng Ze approached Fang Li; to learn more about Luo Yan.
Fang Li runs all sorts of errands for Luo Yan. He enjoys making her run around for his food but when another girl gives him a whole bag of (limited edition) snacks, he doesn't want any of it. Fang Li tells him it's a very pretty girl who gave him the snacks.
Luo Yan: Do you know what is pretty? Go home and take a look at the mirror.
I assume she translated his sentence to means she's ugly. Sigh. He changes the topic to the manga he asked her to translate (it’s to help her study English in a way she likes, aw!). She cuts her finger while looking for the book. His attention is consumed by her (tiny) injury. He wants her to wash her cut first (and take a look at the mirror while you're at it, girl). The next day he buys her a bunch of snack but within all the junk food, there's a bottle of vitamins (for cuts, Vitamin C?). He lies to her that the bag was from the girl who liked him and he didn't want it.
University. Sheng Ze purposely makes a move on Fang Li knowing that Luo Yan likes her. The boy still isn't over his inferiority complex on Luo Yan. Sheng Ze successfully makes Luo Yan misunderstand he's Fang Li's boyfriend. He also steals her diary.
[Ep11] Highschool. Qi Fei Fei realizes Luo Yan is helping her study English by making her translate manhuas and training her for track by making her run his errands. Qi Fei Fei thinks Luo Yan likes her. Fang Li smiles at that thought. However, the next time they see Luo Yan, he’s throwing away the airplane she made for him for three nights. He was trying to deny another girl claiming he likes Fang Li by discarding the plane.
University. Fang Li tells Sheng Ze about the fake boyfriend thing and how he aligns with her description almost too well. Sheng Ze exploits this and pretends to be her boyfriend in front of Luo Yan.
Shi Xu ditches Sun Jia Yi for Qi Fei Fei. He noticed she was unhappy because she failed another audition. Go boy! Ditch that girl! But I dread the day Qi Fei Fei will find out why he approached her in the first place.
There’s a fire at the girl’s dorm. Luo Yan thinks Fang Li is still in her room and runs up to find her despite there being a fire alarm. Fang Li sees him run into danger for her. They sit down for some coffee and she asks him why he ran into danger like that. He responds matter-of-factly that he couldn’t waste time knowing she was still up there – unlike her “boyfriend”. Yay, the whole fake boyfriend act is over.
Luo Yan asks his buddies to test the love game app he developed. It’s incredibly hard that none of his friends wants to play. Qi Fei Fei suggests to Luo Yan he needs a love partner to teach him some proper romance. Who shall be his partner? Fang Li, of course.
[Ep12] Highschool. The boys bully Fang Li at school and kicks her a hard soccer ball to receive. Luo Yan blocks it for her and the crowd goes woo~. Fang Li draws a firmer line between them by separating their class duties. They talk via airplane notes but the teacher intercepts it. From the tone the teacher reads it in, their argument sounds like a love banter, hahaha.
Luo Yan fights with Sheng Ze because he tattled on Fang Li (which had made her cry).
University. In the name of the app, Fang Li and Luo Yan have a date. The two of them take this date seriously. Before the date, Fang Li bumps into Sheng Ze and accidentally leaves a lipstick mark on his shirt. Sheng Ze still seems to have an agenda on her but Luo Yan intercepts, “My apologies, my girlfriend made your shirt dirty.” Fang Li whispers to Luo Yan they’re not real but Luo Yan whispers back that his boyfriend duties began when they set their date.
Shi Xu asks Qi Fei Fei out to confess. They’re both pretty drunk and he kisses her. The two of them blackout after that. He asks about it the next morning. She hints that it’s okay if he doesn’t want to be friends anymore. He doesn’t get the hint and says he wants to be her friend. Lol.
Highschool. The teacher lectures Luo Yan for hitting Sheng Ze. Violence doesn’t solve anything. The fight was for Fang Li. Luo Yan speaks up for Fang Li and vows that they’re not dating. He unrequitedly admires her but whether that admiration will turn into something more in university will be another story. The next day Fang Li moves her desk back to be next to his. The teacher is no longer penalizing her.
University. Luo Yan misunderstands Fang Li gave a loving present to Sheng Ze too. She had given them both bookmarks but only Luo Yan’s was a heart. He throws her present away right in front of her (again).
[Ep13] There's an awkward lunch between Sheng Ze, Fang Li, Luo Yan and the psychologist student (Lin Xiao Wei). Sheng Ze is overly doting on Fang Li in front of Luo Yan. It's pretty obvious to everyone in the table they're jealous of each other except themselves. The next time Sheng Ze and Luo Yan meet, the latter tells the former Fang Li isn't important to him at all. Fang Li hears this. Geez, Luo Yan always does the wrong things at the critical moment.
Luo Yan jumps into the pool as an attempt to recover his lost memory. In the water, he remembers being in a fight on the beach with a group of men. He finally remember who he fought with. It's Sheng Ze.
Sheng Ze makes a public confession to Fang Li. Luo Yan drags her out and punches Sheng Ze. He fights back. Sheng Ze shows his nasty personality and now Fang Li knows his true colours.
Luo Yan and Fang Li run out of the pub and wait for the bus. Behind them is a bus ad: "Love, is a ride on the bus." She chides him for putting her in danger because Sheng Ze was aiming for him all along. She also adds that he should just ask Lin Xiao Wei for help on his love app. He disagrees. She helped him realize that there isn't just sweetness in love. He thanks her for letting him taste the sourness, the bitterness, and the spiciness of love. It's all because of her he felt those emotions. Fang Li appreciates the kindness in his words. She asks him to be considerate with his words because she takes his comments to heart. He takes her hand – a confession? – and tells her the bus is here. Love is here (according to the bus ad)!
Luo Yan finally takes Fang Li’s hand in his. He’s making a wish; he doesn’t want to be friends with her anymore. He wants to change the way they interact, an interaction where he can hold her hand. They’re this close to being a couple but a crying Shi Xu interrupts them. Fang Li departs to give the men alone time. Shi Xu shares with Luo Yan that he befriended Qi Fei Fei to be closer to Sun Jia Yi. Luo Yan smells him. Shi Xu has a trashy scent on him. Indeed. Shi Xu doesn’t know who he likes. Luo Yan warns him he’s going to die a cruel death.
Sun Jia Yi locks Fang Li in a room not knowing Luo Yan is there too. The two of them are stuck there over night. Luo Yan helps Fang Li look for a book. In the process he bumps his head. She holds onto his face and blows on his bruise. She notices how hot his cheeks are.
Luo Yan in a crisp tone: Can you not touch my face. If you keep touching my face, I’m going to –
She stops him from finishing his sentence. If he says anything weird, it’ll affect her studying for the exam tomorrow.
The next morning, Luo Yan and Fang Li fall asleep on the couch. Her head was on his shoulder. She then snuggles onto his lap. He quickly pretends to sleep when she’s awake. Fang Li gets up and covers him with his jacket. In his pocket, she finds the keys he said he didn’t have.
Luo Yan discovers Sun Jia Yi was the one who locked Fang Li in the room. He doesn’t even want to talk to her but she throws herself at him because she saw Fang Li watching them. Now Fang Li misunderstands Luo Yan hugged her. Shi Xu also saw the hug. He’s confused why he didn’t feel anything. He finally realizes he no longer likes Sun Jia Yi.
[Ep15] Fang Li is upset she couldn’t make it on time for an exam. Her scholarship is on the line. She takes it out on the coin machine. Luo Yan stops her by telling her others would “call the police” on her for harassing the machine. Fang Li doesn’t care, “Go and call the police!” And so Luo Yan hugs her tightly. ”Call the police" and "hug tightly" sound similar. Eventually, she feels better because of him.
[Ep16] Meow, it’s the next day. Fang Li is shy at seeing Luo Yan. She hides her face in a book but Luo Yan tells her it's upside down. He also gives her a thermos with coffee he brewed for her. He too has a matching thermos. It's engraved with this: if (!myArms.has (you)). It's code language. I thought it was "Arme" instead of Arms. Hers also has an engraving but since I can't understand her English and it's not captioned and it's impossible to read with the lighting, I have no idea what it says. Neither does Fang Li understand because her English sucks.
Qi Fei Fei learns that she was only a bet to Shi Xu and Sun Jia Yi. If Shi Xu dated Qi Fei Fei and broke up with her, he’d get a chance with Sun Jia Yi.
Qi Fei Fei cries in Fang Li’s arms. She suggests they go back to their hometown for the holiday.
Luo Yan texts Fang Li to look at the sky. There’s a Supermoon. She recalls a line: 但愿人长久千里共婵娟. It means something along the lines of to hope the person you care about is safe. No matter how far you are from that person the two of you can still admire the same moon. He tells her to make a wish on the Supermoon. She laughs. Who wishes on a moon? He makes one anyways: to see her immediately. She laughs again that he should consider making a wish that will come true. He knowingly replies, “How do you know it won’t come true?” He hangs up on her. Fang Li looks around her window and runs downstairs. Awwww, he’s right in front of her home.
Fang Li quickly shuffles Luo Yan to her room upon seeing her grandmother. She’s hiding him because grandma is already upset she was late for the exam. She hides him there the entire night and offers him alcohol. In his stupor he explains the hug with Sun Jia Yi is one sided.
The next morning, they’re asleep on the bed with her sleeping on his arm. Grandma walks into Fang Li’s room and faints at the scene. They take her to the hospital. Her blood pressure was too high. Fang Li cries and makes Luo Yan leave. She can’t risk anything when her grandmother is her only relative.
Luo Yan is about to take the bus to leave the city. The teacher (his guardian) gives him a present. It was the present from his mother back in highschool that he threw away but Fang Li picked it back up for him. He remembers the hurtful words he said to her because he wanted her to mind her own business. This present reminds him of his regret. He ditches the bus and runs to find Fang Li. He won’t let himself regret again. He finally finds her at the school. Eeeee!!
Fang Li apologizes first for pushing Luo Yan away at the hospital. Luo Yan replies that he’s the one who should be apologizing for his words all these years. He takes her hand in his, “I won’t leave you again.” Hugs. Gosh, I love the music here too much.
Luo Yan wants a perfect first date with Fang Li so he sets up a spreadsheet to find the restaurant with the best food, atmosphere, service, etc. She smiles and replies, "Idiot, with you any date is perfect." Her true thoughts accidentally slipped out. She adds a criteria that the restaurant really doesn't have to be that perfect as long as she can take pretty pictures. LOL. All girls. Luo Yan gets it. He'll update his spreadsheet to match more of her criteria. Ha.
Qi Fei Fei calls Fang Li and now she has to leave Luo Yan. The sun is still out but he's like "It's going to rain so why not wait until it stops raining and then go?" Fang Li cutely replies "Shouldn't it be that I leave before it rains?" Hehe. He wants her to stay and she knows it.
The pink bubbles don't last too long as Fang Li feels insecure with her popular boyfriend. She doesn't want to disclose her relationship with him (even when he's so dressed up for his date with her!). He recognizes her insecurities and respects her decision. It doesn't ruin their first date though. He takes her to a fancy restaurant. He has decided that this will be the place where they'll celebrate all their anniversaries; their dating anniversaries and wedding anniversaries. He has their future all planned out. Men's legal marriage age is 22 and women is 20, after their graduation, marriage will be perfect. Girl cannot handle it and excuses herself. The date is unfortunately interrupted by Sun Jia Yi but our couple stays sweet regardless.
Shi Xu complains to Fang Li and Luo Yan that Qi Fei Fei still isn't speaking to him. Fang Li comforts him but it's taking too long and running into their movie time. Luo Yan blinks at Fang Li to remind her of their date. She blinks back that she understands. I love their telepathy.
Luo Yan presents his app during a lecture. A girl asks for his ideal type. The way he describes Fang Li is so obvious and the way he looks at her has so much love. I love it when he says that although he was late to love but in his future her presence is a must. The girl proceeds to make fun of Fang Li. Luo Yan stands up for his girlfriend and Fang Li admits to everyone she's Luo Yan's girlfriend.
Luo Yan sends a text to Fang Li "If my arm has you. Your heart push me." That's the English he texts her and the English words on the thermos. It's such awkward English, lol. The funniest part to this is that the Chinese subtitles for this statement is so different: "Come to my arms or let me into your heart”.
[Ep17] Fang Li and Luo Yan are at the library and he tells her he read the book she wants. He'll teach her. He leans in to give her a kissss ~~ Her phone rings and he stops kissing to let her know. Boy, she knows. She ignores it and continues to kiss him. He passionately replies BUT IT'S A DREAM.
Luo Yan's father is approving of Fang Li. The father also gives him a car to drive. He adds that a car would be useful to pick up his girlfriend. That's the only reason Luo Yan accepts the car. The next day, Luo Yan picks up Fang Li with the car. The passenger seat will always and only be for her. He reaches over to help her with the seat belt that's stuck. With their faces close, a kiss is in the corner! But she hiccups.
Fang Li has acute pancreatitis. She's at school with signs of vomiting. Sun Jia Yi thinks she's pregnant. Qi Fei Fei also misunderstands. Meanwhile our lovebirds are busy at the hospital being lovely. They have no idea about their pregnancy rumours. The rumours also reach Luo Yan's father. He tells his son to take responsibility.
Luo Yan and Fang Li participate in a sumo obstacle course that's streamed online to prove she's not pregnant. They win. She has too much fun and isn't over the thrill. He asks her if she wants to continue. Fang Li excitedly replies "Continue?" He kisses her. That's also caught on camera.
They're at the library and a girl asks Luo Yan for his number. He uses a pencil case that shows he's taken. Fang Li adoringly stares at her boyfriend. He rests his head on his hand to stare back at her, "Seen enough? I'll give you one more minute and then we'll study." In the end it's him who needs to stare at her longer.
Luo Yan gets an investment to his app.
They separate for the day. She asks him what he's doing. He wanted to reply exactly what he was doing but he thinks better of it and wants to reply "Thinking of you" but he also chickens out of that and opts for a boring reply. Fang Li had her hopes too high for a romantic reply because he kept typing.
[Ep18] Luo Yan is busy developing his app. Fang Li tries to help and stays up with him. As a result, acne explodes on her face. She freaks out on the phone but she doesn't want to worry him so she doesn't tell him. Still, he is worried and goes back to check on her. Acne or not, he loves her and will kiss her like she's the most beautiful girl in the world.
The acne isn't just from staying up though. Fang Li suspects it's because of the mask that's being promoted in university. She tried to complain to the company but the phone is an empty line. Su Qi Yang (who's back) helps her expose the mask's poor quality. After a long day, Luo Yan picks her up and walks her back to the dorms. He asks her why she didn't tell him about the mask. He wants to be the one to be there for her when she needs someone. Aw, I like how he isn't overly jealous but rather sweet. When he drops her off and leaves, she quickly runs back out to jump onto his back. Aw.
The owner of the mask company attacks Fang Li. Luo Yan runs at high speed and gives him a flying kick.
Luo Yan has to stay at the company for a week and he won't be able to leave at all. He etases her that she looks happy at the news. She playfully points to her eye that there's a tear there. Luo Yan smiles and kisses her eye. He coos that he can't possibly let her cry.
Luo Yan meets up with Su Qi Yan to thank him for taking care of his girlfriend while he was away.
[Ep19] Luo Yan and Su Qi Yan find themselves sleeping on the same bed. Fang Li walks in on these two coming out of the same room. She giggles at them and snaps pictures. The boys work together to steal her phone and delete the evidence. Ah, some tiny bromance.
This is an episode where Fang Li and Luo Yan fix up Su Qi Yan’s relationship with his girl. Luo Yan asks Su Qi Yan to hurry up and make up with his girl because he already spent 170+ hours away from Fang Li. Helping Su Qi Yan is taking away his alone time with her. Fang Li's plan is to showoff how lovely dating is. Luo Yan feeds Fang Li skewer. Fang Li takes it but it’s still raw. She returns the skewer and tells him to taste it just as lovingly as he did. When he bites down and realizes it’s raw he too has to pretend it’s the most delicious thing he tasted.
Luo Yan drags Fang Li to his tent. He doesn’t want to sleep with Su Qi Yan anymore. She’s sleeping next to him but facing away until there’s a bug that scares her. She hides in his arms and they stay hugging. She asks him how long he’s going to hug her. His reply: “For however long you owe me for these past few days.” She smiles but she still wants him to get rid of the bug. He obliges. When he threw away the bug, he saw Su Qi Yan making up with his girl. Fang Li sleeps facing away in the tent again. She smiles that there’s a bug. There’s probably no bug. He immediately gets up to get rid of the bug as she turns to him. The angle is perfect for a kiss. The camera zooms out of the two tents and we no longer see what happens beyond the kiss.
[Ep20] It’s three months into their relationship and Fang Li is feeling insecure about the longevity of their relationship (thanks to Sun Jia Yi). Fang Li sees Luo Yan with Lin Xiao Wei and overhears that she’s helping him with his memory recovery. Fang Li is jealous why he’s not asking her for help. And so she angrily stomps off and he has no idea she’s angry.
Luo Yan’s father gives Luo Yan a credit card. Luo Yan doesn’t want it but dad tells him it’s for Fang Li. Lol, anytime dad wants to give something to his son, he’s using Fang Li as an excuse. He also times how long his son is willing to talk to him. Five minutes is a new record and it’s all because of Fang Li.
It's operation "Recover Luo Yan's memories". Fang Li works with her friends to secretly trigger Luo Yan's memories. He's either being hit, saving someone pretending to drown or suffering food poison (and subsequently hospitalized). When he tells his friends how lonely it was when he woke up after losing his memories. Everyone starts sympathizing him and hugs him.
Luo Yan and Fang Li dress up in high school uniforms for their date. She recalls a time when her shirt was dirtied and Luo Yan had drew wings on her shirt. She also wonders why he's obsessed with remembering that high school year. It seemed like he hated her in high school. Luo Yan wants to remember because those memories had her. He wants to remember her. But today, he realizes something is even more important. The present. He’s relieved he didn’t miss out on her.
[Ep21] Fang Li shoves Luo Yan away when her grandmother is on campus. She hasn’t told her grandmother about their relationship. Luo Yan is mad that if her grandmother has a misunderstanding of him, why is it that her first reaction is to run away instead of clarifying. She’s worried about her grandmother’s health. Fang Li gives him a peck on the cheek to cheer him up.
Luo Yan takes Fang Li home as his girlfriend. Fang Li knows that she cares about his father because bringing her back home was to make his father happy. Fang Li also got to see how happily he played with his younger brother. As Luo Yan and Fang Li walk home, she teases him about reading shoujo manga. As “punishment”, he takes her up in his arms and spins her around. However, they stop on their spot when Grandma sees them.
Grandma sends everyone away to speak to Luo Yan alone. She wants him to break up with Fang Li because he bullied her in the past. Not only that, he fought in high school and he left her. Luo Yan is honest to her. He won’t break up with Fang Li over this.
Grandma’s high blood pressure is showing symptoms again. Worried, Fang Li agrees to break up with Luo Yan. When she meets up with Luo Yan, he sensed she was going to breakup with himt. He grimaces that he confidently told Grandma that Fang Li wouldn’t break up with him. Fang Li sorrowfully cries that she can’t bear to see her grandmother hurt for her. She’s her only family. Fang Li wants to break up until grandma agrees to their relationship. Luo Yao can’t bear to see her crying and agrees to this temporary breakup.
[Ep22] Highschool. Fang Li works part time at a supermarket selling fish. Fang Li stops a thief from stealing and the thief ends up threatening her. Luo Yan quickly clears it up by asking her for fish. Fang Li tells him she has plans of posting pictures of the thief all over the supermarket. That sounds dangerous. Luo Yan asks her if she can stop making him worried about her. The next day, Luo Yan overhears the thief planning to attack Fang Li. He calls the police on them.
University. Luo Yan’s alarm goes off: “Master, master, Yours and Fang Li’s Little Fairy (the plant) needs watering.” He didn’t even change his clothes and went to bed. Now, he has a fever. Fang Li worries about him and goes to clean up for him but he throws away their picture together.
Sheng Zhe hears about the break-up. He meets up with Fang Li to tell her the reason Luo Yan lost his memory. He had just recently learned of this:
Highschool. Luo Yan has to transfer again. He makes rocks into heart shape as a confession present to Fang Li before he leaves. However, before he gets to give the present, the thief and his gang attack him because he called the police on them (to protect Fang Li). That’s how he lost his memory. The teacher (Luo Yan’s guardian) also finds the accounting book in Luo Yan’s room when he was away. Fang Li and Luo Yan never got to meet each other after that.
University. Sheng Zhe finishes his story. It was Sheng Zhe who found Luo Yan unconscious at the beach. He recently heard the thief was arrested and admitted to all his crimes. He marvels at how Luo Yan can find Fang Li again and fall in love with her once more. Fang Li asks him if he can tell her grandmother. She has something more important to attend to. She finds Luo Yan.
Fang Li gives Luo Yan a hug. She reveals he lost his memory to protect her. She cries her apology. Luo Yan tells her to look into his eyes. It’s not apologies he wants to hear. Fang Li whimpers, “I love you” over and over again. Luo Yan returns the confession and hugs her back. It’s followed by a sweet, sweet kiss.
[Ep23] Luo Yan’s mother is back in the country. She secretly observes Fang Li at her part-time looking like a stern mother but Fang Li doesn’t know her identity. Luo Yan visits Fang Li but he doesn’t recognize his mother. It’s been too long since he’s seen her.
Mother and son tearfully reunite. However, mom is here for another reason. She’s in debt. She wants the picture she drew for her son which Luo Yan treasures. Dad tells her he’ll help her raise the money so don’t let Luo Yan know about the picture. Luo Yan has always blamed the divorce on Dad but it seems like Mom was the reason for the divorce which Dad had never told Luo Yan.
Luo Yan disappears. Fang Li finally finds him at the place he comforted her back then when she was heartbroken. He wakes up to find Fang Li at his side and with her there, his mood lightens up.

Fang Li riles with anger when Luo Yan makes her fill out a survey as if he's testing her love for him. She’s later jealous when she sees him with Sun Jia Yi. Luo Yan catches Fang Li in time and says the one who’s jealous is him. He wants to know about her first love. Fang Li lights up. She’s excited to show him her first love. Luo Yan doesn’t share the excitement.
Fei Fei finally gets to perform on stage as a pivotal character. During practice, Shi Xu hops on stage to ask her to be his girlfriend. She agrees!
It’s finally time for Fang Li to show Luo Yan her first love. To his delight, it’s all pictures of him. Then we get Fang Li’s perspective of high school.
Highschool. The first time Fang Li saw Luo Yan, she fell in love with him. Ahh! That’s why she crashed her bike! The previous flashback was only from Luo Yan’s perspective and it looked like it was an accident. Then she was shy when he was assigned to the seat next to hers. A classmate had asked Fang Li to write her a love letter to send to Luo Yan because she’s a pro at it. However, the more she tries to write it the more she realizes she was writing her own feelings. She couldn’t write it anymore. That was the first time she refused money.Fang Li also had a chance to steal back her accounting journal. But she didn’t. That book was her only connection to Luo Yan. She didn’t want that connection to disappear.She had period cramps one day and Luo Yan stayed behind to make her a hot pack. Aw.The teacher reviewed Fang Li’s music selection for the PA system. He lectures her for incorrectly ordering Monday to Friday. That’s because the first character of each song name says: “I love Luo Yan”

[Actors/Actresses] I’m so happy Li Ge Yan will finally get the girl!. He has this cat look to him which perfectly aligns with the slyness of Luo Yan. The girl is fine too. I just have one complaint: her octopus hair.

I’m in love with how the drama teased us with the flashbacks in the end. It’s a whole new perspective of the same scenes that would actually have made sense right from the beginning.
[Review] A very typical romcom, so typical I don’t even know how to make this review unique to this drama. But I really like it! Instead of having amnesia in the middle, it’s in the beginning. There’s a typical mean kind of guy as our male lead but Li Ge Yang is a cutie and adds his charm to the role. The exceptional part of this drama is in the editing. All of a sudden, this typical drama is exciting and addicting. Nothing groundbreaking here but I enjoyed it a lot. It’s on the higher end of my lighthearted cute romcoms.
Remarks
[First Impression (Ep1-6)] So cute! The story is set in university. The boy forgets the girl who he liked in high school. After a kiss and a school explosion, it blasts their fate together again. We follow him as he regains his memory bit by bit and falls in love with her again. The most appealing part of this drama is the way this story is told. The editing is full of zest. It knows when to insert the cutest sound effect, which angle to capture the funniest expression and the precise timing for a dramatic pause. Then there’s the glistening OST that enriches this fun drama. I’m always smiling at the end whenever that OST plays.
[Actors/Actresses] I’m so happy Li Ge Yan will finally get the girl!. He has this cat look to him which perfectly aligns with the slyness of Luo Yan. The girl is fine too. I just have one complaint: her octopus hair.
[Behind the Scenes]
[OST] I think it's just me but I'll say it anyways. The OST when the drama ends (not the ending song) reminds me of "Searching" Taku Takahashi from the Jdrama Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou. It doesn't sound that similar, it just gave me that feel.

[Review] A very typical romcom, so typical I don’t even know how to make this review unique to this drama. But I really like it! Instead of having amnesia in the middle, it’s in the beginning. There’s a typical mean kind of guy as our male lead but Li Ge Yang is a cutie and adds his charm to the role. The exceptional part of this drama is in the editing. All of a sudden, this typical drama is exciting and addicting. Nothing groundbreaking here but I enjoyed it a lot. It’s on the higher end of my lighthearted cute romcoms.
Random Recommendation: Oops! The King is in Love. The editing enhances this drama too.
