Directed by Yu Zhong Zhong. If you've watched contemporary Cdrramas for a while now, you have to have crossed path with one of this man's shows: Love Is Sweet, Love Song in Winter, DT. Appledog's Time, Follow Your Heart (not contemporary), Everyone Loves Me, My Unicorn Girl, Love Crossed, Eat Run Love, and many more.
Adapted by Zhao Xiao Lei from a novel of the same Chinese title. Previously, she has adapted Forbidden Flower, DT. Appledog's Time (GGS2), and Dating in the Kitchen. The original author is Shi Jiu Yuan (時玖遠).
Girl has been mired in workplace-bullying controversies throughout 2025. In response, she and her team have chosen no response. Her social media have been completely dormant until today (Dec 12, 2025).
The allegations started with Zhang Hao Yue (the ex-gf from Fake It Till You Make It) and then Zhao Zhi Wei. If you only watched the old clips from 一年級·畢業季 (2016 variety show), you could argue that Yu Shu Xin was being blunt, playful for variety, maybe even “just speaking her truth.” But it’s also undeniable that her comments and behaviour were hurtful; Zhang Hao Yue has said the exclusion and mocking contributed to long-term depression. Zhao Zhi Wei later added his side: after years of being painted as the rumoured ex who “wronged” Yu Shu Xin, the narrative hurt his reputation and, by extension, his acting career.
As the situation snowballed, netizens turned toward her wealthy family background, and there were even accusations of tax evasion involving her father’s company. (I don't know how true these accusations are or if they're resolved.)
This is Yu Shu Xin’s first comeback since the fall. iQIYI's premiere strategy is being compared to Zhao Lu Si's Love's Ambition by Tencent and fans are hoping for a similar success or at least a positive feedback. Either way this drama goes though, Yu Shu Xin is already slated for a new drama as her side announced on the same day that she'll be the FL of 雲初令 directed by Zhu Rui Bin (Fated Hearts, The Long Ballad) to be released on IQIYI. IQIYI's got her back.
