[Drama Info]

Min Guo Hui directed the infamous Miss the Dragon, and (the forgotten) Novoland: The Castle in the Sky 2.

Drama is either really lucky or have a good eye. They picked up supporting actors before they became more popular. There's Dai Lu Wa from Moonlight Mystique, onion man Quan Yi Lun from Blossom but he was actually first known in An Ancient Love Song as the didi, and Qin Xiao Xian, which is a bit of a stretch, but he still made a splash as Mu Mie in Love in Pavilion.

Wrapped on August 12, 2024

[Ending] Happy (+ extra)

Drama Overview & Review

Song Wei Long's Smiles: 5/5 💘 This show made me realize how catastrophically weak I am for Song Wei Long. The moment he smiles, I’m grinning like a fool. It’s strange – I don’t melt like this in his other shows, and he doesn’t even have good bangs here. What kind of sorcery?? [Skip »]

Action Choreography: 5/5 💥 So bad it’s good. Like, hilariously, gloriously bad. Give me more. [Skip »]
I thought he was going to catch her, but no. She does boomerang back to him, though
It's a turbo kick transitioning against gravity into handstand kicks 👏

Romcom (Cheese) Factor: 3/5 🧀 When it was stupid and cheesy, this was fun. I really enjoyed the old-school nonsense: one-way eavesdropping, cute misunderstandings, and lack of logic. [Skip »]

Plot: -11/5 🧱 An absolute roadblock. The plot was weak from the start, but it didn’t matter when the show leaned into being silly. But then it decided to get somewhat serious with a plot. The foundation just wasn’t there and the FL contributes nothing and every man is falling for her.

[Review & Rating] By cynlynn.
As far as filler period romcoms go, this one kicks off with the old-fashioned charm of illogical setups and marriage tropes. The best romance was the cheesiest romance.

Loved it! Until the plot happens. The whole second half, I was fast-forwarding just to limp across the finish line. You might enjoy it more if you care about the secondary couples.

It’s one of those dramas that’s worth starting, but not worth finishing. Not because the plot turns terrible – but because it's so boring. No emotion, no tension, no thought.

Rating: 2/5. This made me stupid-happy until it didn't. But at least I was stupid-happy at one point!
