Inside a church, J. Su Chen demands something from Mu Han Yu. Han Yu refuses and says he'll have to fight him for it. Su Chen plays dirty – he gets a crew of men to beat him up.
Once he’s done with the men, Xia Mo appears and says that he lost. She then uses her power to grab him and demands that he sign the contract with her. But he refuses as he still has the real necklace.

A day earlier. A rose petal falls as Xia Mo coughs up blood. She’s looking for the witch's necklace which is in a famous physicist, Mu Han Yu's possession.

The two meet and he wants to trade something for it. She offers him money but he doesn’t want that. He insists that she admits that she’s a witch and then he’ll hand it over. She proves it by using her powers and gets his briefcase. But when she opens it, it's empty.
Su Chen's men arrive to capture her but she fights them off. When she almost falls, Han Yu catches her. Guess she still needs a mere mortal to save her from falling. She then realizes that he’s wearing the necklace. The men continue searching for them. She quickly walks away with in tow, and then opens a door out of nowhere. The two disappear into another realm.

When she tries to attack him and it bounces back at her and knocks her out. When she comes to, she's in someone's bed in an unknown room. But powers aren't working... as Han Yu, who is in another room is adjusting a dial on a machine. Ou? She finally gets up and exits the room. She sees Han Yu with his back turned to her and realizes this must be his place. He hears her but he doesn't acknowledge her and just waits. Once again she tries to attack him but the necklace's power is protecting him.

New tactic – she tries to seduce him but he’s onto her and he throws her out.
Elsewhere, Ju Chen and his men continue looking for her.
Han Yu thinks he bring back his deceased parents with this necklace.
Later, Han Yu returns home and finds Xia Mo, who is wearing only his shirt with a cake. She claims that she’s here for her birthday. xD She makes a wish for a special present – the necklace. She then blows out the candle and then compels him to give her the necklace. He ends up passing out.

A still dressed Han Yu ends up in a tub full of water. She tells him that he drank too much so she was helping him sober up. He tells her that the necklace was from his parents so she shouldn’t even think about taking it. She threatens to kill him for it, and he replies if she could kill him, why is she trying to charm him then?
She later interrupts his interview to claim that she’s his girlfriend. She even throws 💗💗💗 at him. xD

Ju Chen’s men show up again to beat Han Yu into telling them where the witch is. From nearby, Xia Mo just watches.
As it turns out, Ju Chen and Xia Mo’s sister, Xia Xin Yi are actually lovers and she's helping him hunt down witches. And she kills another witch, Hui.
Xia Mo senses that Hui is in trouble, and arrives too late. She feels guilty for failing to protect her coven as a leader.

Han Yu wants to know what is going on. So she takes him to their bar, Lane 66. Xin Yi wants to know why she brought him here. She hands her the bloodied cloth that she found beside Hui’s body. Xin Yi notices that Han Yu is wearing a witch’s necklace.
Xia Mo explains to Han Yu that a witch’s contract needs two things: the necklace and the coven leader (her). So she needs the necklace returned to her. He says that it’s not that he doesn’t want to return it to her but he can’t. She doesn't believe him. So he hands it to her, which she cups in her hand, and within moments it disappears and reappears around his neck.
The two go looking for Aunt Rou, the former coven leader’s jiejie. They get caught in the rain, and he then shows her how to use a hair dryer. (Again, mere mortals can be useful sometimes. xD) He also buys her a shell necklace. But he almost kisses her, he stops and runs aways to grab food and admonish himself.
Ju Chen finds him, as he wants to buy his Mystic Power Jammer. He refuses to sell it. Ju Chen then offers to invest in the project. He still refuses so he’s left to deal with his goons.
Back at the shop, Aunt Rou appears and tells her that the only way she can get the necklace back is through its owner’s death. Then the new owner will naturally inherit it.
Now, Xia Mo watches Han Yu get stabbed in the chest and thinks about Aunt Rou’s words. But she ends up using her powers to take down Ju Chen's men.

Now she’s taking care of an injured Han Yu. (RYJ’s closed eyes are quivering quite a bit here. LOL) He wakes up and asks why she saved him. She replies that he’d saved her once.
Xin Yi tells her that they should get rid of Han Yu for the necklace. She says it’s not the right time and so long as he’s around, she can still use the necklace.
Su Chen waits for Han Yu at his office. He wants him to join his team. Han Yu says they want different things. Su Chen says that knows that he doesn’t want to work with him. But maybe he’ll change his mind later and he'll be waiting.
Han Yu goes to the bar and asks Xin Yi if Xia Mo is around. He senses that she doesn’t like him. She tells him that loathes him and to stay away from her sister.
After he leaves, Xin Yi tells her sister that he’d been here to see her. She suddenly shows up at his home. He tells her that he has terms for helping her. But he won’t reveal them until later. She has her own terms for him too. She wants him as her assistant, and he needs to come whenever she calls, needs to be punctual and be punctual. Most importantly, he cannot get romantic with her.

At the bar, the sisters go over the witch contracts. A suddenly blind witch, Anna needs a new pair of corneas and another woman, Xiao Yan, has brain cancer. They approach Xiao Yan, and Xia Mo offers to make her boyfriend forget about her as she wishes. She’ll just have to give her corneas in exchange. The woman hesitates for a bit before finally agreeing to sign the contract.
2CP have such dark vibes. [Manic Joker + Harley Quinn]

They only look sweet for a moment...

Now Xiao Yan’s boyfriend has forgotten all about her and even moved on. However, Xiao Yan has changed her mind and wants the contract rescinded. Xia Mo says that the contract needs to stay in place. Han Yu disagrees with her as this isn’t fair at all as she clearly regrets it now. Xia Mo says that she has no other choice and this is the only way. Han Yu angrily leaves and doesn't return even when she orders him to.
Han Yu goes home and continues complaining about how cold she is. But then he suddenly passes out. He wakes up bound to a chair before Xia Mo.

She makes him sweat and taunts him about how much hotter it’ll get. She still wants an apology. He won't give it. Moments later, she makes him so freezing cold that he finally says that he’s wrong. She makes him repeat it a couple more times before blindfolding him and then releasing him from the chair.
Now she sits down in the vacated seat and orders him to kneel before her. He complies and she lifts her foot to digs the heel of her shoe into his chest. She muffles her giggles at his expression. Messing with his head.
He then wakes up on the couch. She pours him tea and says he must’ve had a bad dream.

The two argue over Xiao Yan's contract. Xia Mo says she just wants to give people what they wish for. But Han Yu is worried about Xiao Yan’s boyfriend’s feelings, as maybe he didn’t want to forget her. They're interrupted by a call. Xiao Yan has passed away. They go to the hospital and the staff give Xia Mo the signed cornea donation form. Han Yu then notices that Xiao Yan’s boyfriend is already there, as Xia Mo had returned his feelings to him.
Xia Mo leaves and gets caught in the sudden downpour. Han Yu shows up with an umbrella. She looks over at him. But then she coughs up blood and passes out on his chest. Look at this height difference…and she’s wearing heels!

She suddenly wakes up with Han Yu next to her. She asks why he's here… She tells him that she's fine but thinks to herself that it must be the backlash from changing Xiao Yu’s contract. He gives her a phone but she says that she doesn’t need it as she can just go find him. He insists.
Later he takes her to a rooftop to look at the stars via telescope.

Meanwhile, Xin Yi and Ju Chen are together on their own date. He's showing her how to aim and hit the bullseye with an arrow. She’s angry about Han Yu still being alive as he should’ve died five years ago.

Su Chen uses himself as her target. But she doesn’t shoot at him. These two are so toxic.
He later shows Han Yu footage of the accident that led to his parents' death: Xia Mo was there. Han Yu starts ignoring her calls and texts but she shows up at his place. But he tells her to knock first before entering from now on.

Su Chen gives Xin Yi a surprise, Anna. When Anna calls her a a halfling freak, Xin Yi slashes her throat. Su Chen wants all of the witches to be dead, except for her as she’s just like him.
But when he mentions getting rid of Xia Mo. She says she’ll get rid of all them, but if he touches her sister, she’ll make him regret it.
Han Yu tells Xia Mo that she’s the cause of his parents’ car accident, ergo their death. They had traded their lives to save his. She says she may use people’s greed against them but would never stoop this low. She tells him that from now, she’ll handle everything on her own before stalking out of there.
Xia Mo asks her sister why she hid what happened five years ago from her. She wants it investigated. After she leaves, Xin Yi says that Han Yu is going to die now.

It's a trap...

Xia Mo wants Su Chen’s address from this man, who is only willing to give up the information so long as his young son will have something in the end.
Once again, Xia Mo coughs up blood and then passes out in Han Yu’s arms… as another rose petal falls. Xin Yi tells him that she only has five years left. She tells him that in order to save him in the hospital, his parents made a deal with a witch. They’d asked for the witch’s power – the necklace – so that nothing would ever happen to him again. And so the former coven leader had lost her necklace and told Xia Mo to promise to get the necklace back. And she’d only have five years left before the real pain started. If she doesn’t succeed, then she’ll just die.
So he makes a wish to give up his life to bring back his most loved ones with Xia Mo, and the contract is sealed.

Well, nothing happens or changes. He wonders why his parents aren’t here. Shocked, she tells him that people can’t come back once they’re gone as bringing back the dead is impossible. He gets upset that he’s spent five years looking for her but she can’t do this. She tells him that life and death can’t be reversed.
He starts berating himself for causing all of this. She says that she can give him a chance to see them again, just once. So she sends him back to that day at the hospital. His parents tell him that they would still make the same choice to save him. They wish for him to live well.
Later, Han Yu asks Aunt Ruo how he can return the necklace to Xia Mo. She explains that it forms a life-and-death bond and to let go of it, he’d have to die. This is something that Xia Mo already knew yet he still chose to save him.
He returns home and finds his home in shambles. Su Chen calls him, to gloat that he’s stolen the Mystic Power Jammer. And he wants him to show him how to use it on Xia Mo.
Dundundun. Su Chen now lures Xia Mo with a kidnapped Han Yu, so he can test the machine on her.

She finds them and Han Yu yells at her to not come in as it's a trap. Too late. Su Chen turns on the jammer which incapacitates her. Su Chen says she needs to pay for what she did… and then removes his face to reveal…
How they usually prosopagnosia in dramas. But not for him...
When he tries to stab Han Yu, she screams no. So he drops the blade and says she gets one chance to save him. She reaches over for the knife and then stabs herself with as Han Yu screams no. She pulls it out and stabs herself again. Su Chen giddily encourages her to do it again.
Even though he’s bound to a chair, Han Yu manages to gets up to knock over the machine thereby making Su Chen’s transmitter useless. She removes the blade and regains her powers at full force. She takes out everyone to get to Han Yu.
Another petal falls and she suddenly doubles over in pain. Han Yu apologizes that he studied the jammer to find the witch but now it’s hurt her.
Xin Yi shows up and yells at him for not staying away from her sister. She insists that he leave. After he leaves, she uses her powers on Su Chen. She attempts to strangle him but then he says that he loves her. She lets go… and says that she’s only letting him go because he’d saved her once before. But if he touches her sister again, she’ll make him pay. She says there’s no more “us” now.
Han Yu is tormented by the fact that Xia Mo has been suffering for the past five years because of the necklace he's wearing.

Xia Mo is impatiently looking at her phone and wondering why he gave her this phone but hasn't contacted her. But it’s only been ten minutes… xD
Xin Yi asks her if she loves Han Yu, and she plays it off. She asks if she loves her, and Xia Mo asks what’s with her. Xin Yi says that Han Yu is different from them as he has a short life. Xia Mo replies that it's longer than hers.
Xia Mo teleports into his place, and finds him asleep at his desk. She crouches down next to him and he stirs awake. He tells her that he had a dream about her… and he’d been kissing her.
They go on a trip… as he’s decided he wants to return the necklace to her. Uh ohs…

Su Chen shows Xin Yi his true face. His backstory: His drunkard of a mother had forced him to make a deal with the former witch leader: use his beautiful face to make [her] money. However, she’d continued hating him and one day she’d fallen down and hit her head on the corner of a dresser. He'd just stood by and watched her die. Yet he blames the witch for ruining his life. And just like that Xin Yi takes him back. 🙄💩

Han Yu wakes up worried about Xia Mo, and when he goes to check on her, she doesn’t respond when he says her name. With tears, he leans down to rest his head on her shoulder. She very slowly reaches over to touch him and whispers that she’s fine.
The next day, he tells her that today he’ll fulfill the contract: He’ll give up everything he has so that the person he loves will live well. She becomes upset that he’s been doing all of this just to say goodbye to her. She asks if he’s considered her feelings. He says that he can’t bear to lose another loved one. She replies so she’s supposed to pretend that nothing happened – isn’t that too cruel? She says she doesn’t agree, and will never do so. Han Yu says even if the contract isn’t fulfilled, he intends to return the necklace to her. If she doesn’t complete the contract and he dies, then she’ll have to suffer the backlash, and then they’ll both be dead.
She goes to the bar to drown her sorrows in alcohol. When a man tries to hit on her, Han Yu suddenly shows up to shove him away. He tells her to stop drinking but she doesn’t want him here or his help as he’ll die. He begs her to return home with him but she says if he hasn’t made up his mind, then leave her alone. He ends her angry words with a kiss but this makes her sob instead. He stops and says that he doesn’t want to lose her. She tells him to stop doing stupid things. She admits that she’s afraid but it’s not death, but that he’ll leave her all alone here one day. If he cares about her, then just stay by her side.
Xia Mo’s pain becomes more intense and she continues coughing up more blood.

Han Yu tells Xia Mo that he won’t leave her side as they’ll face this together. When she wipes a tear from his face, he says “My eyes are sweating.” Awww. This makes her laugh.

Once Han Yu’s parents’ contract is done, the necklace will return to the witches. Xin Yi sees that Xia Mo is giving up her life for Han Yu but she vows to not to let this happen. [Her logic makes no sense, she’s also the one killing witches.]

At work, Han Yu destroys the jammer and then throws it into the trash. But an employee sees this.

Later, Xin Yi tries to kill Han Yu but Xia Mo stops her before the car makes contact. But the close call makes Han Yu remember something from the accident. Han Yu asks her if they met five years ago, or has he met Xin Yi before?

Once again, Xin Yi tries to kill him but he tells her that if he dies and is unable to fulfill his contract with Xia Mo, then she’ll still face the backlash. She says if he doesn’t fix this, then she’ll kill him next time. He asks her if she’s the one who set up the accident five years ago.

Xia Mo looks for a present for Han Yu before their dinner. Booze, book, taxidermy, sculpture, or…? She finds two pictures of the two together but she doesn't remember this time. Suddenly her head starts pounding.

Five years ago. Han Yu went to take a secret picture of her but left the flash on. She’d tried to compel him to erase the photo but he didn’t seem afraid at all.
At that time, she’d told him that she was an alien. She’d tried to scare him with her glowing green eyes but that didn’t work as he'd told her that he wasn't afraid of her.
He’d been interested in her and they'd set up a date to meet again. She’d gotten in trouble (beaten by her leader) for getting close to an outsider. He’d gotten stood up. She had asked Xin Yi to help her… So she’d shown up and passed out in his arms. And then he’d put ointment on her wounds. They’d taken those pictures together that day.

They’d also shared a kiss and he’d even given her a ring. The ring she wears now?! Xin Yi had seen them together.

The day of the accident. Xin Yi had planned to kill him because she didn’t want anyone taking her sister away from her. She’d made the car hit him. And then he’d ended up in the hospital and his parents and Xia Mo were all together. His parents begged her to find a way to save him.

She’d gone to her leader and said that she’d do anything to save him. She’d made a death contract but they’d lose all of their memories and feelings for each other. Her ring actually has his name engraved on it… as he'd told her that he’d always be with her this way. She’d agreed to the contract and she would and suffer anything for him.

So she’d forgotten, and then her leader had made a contract with his parents, who had wanted the necklace for their son.

Today, she cries as she looks at their photos from five years ago. Now she remembers everything.

He booked out the entire restaurant for their date and he confesses his love for her. Ah, so only she remembers their past…but not him?
Su Chen tells Xin Yi that he's caught a bunch of witches for her. And he’d used Han Yu’s discarded jammer to do so. The witches are getting injected with something…
Xia Mo’s rose only has a few petals left.
After quoting a line that he'd told her from five years, he becomes quite jealous. (~10:40) XD She tells him more and he walks away from her.
While at the beach, Han Yu seems to have faint memories of their past... but does he know it?

Han Yu finally discovers their old photos and regains his memories of her and their previous time together.
At the bar, an injured witch stumbles in and collapses on the ground before Xia Mo. She begs her to help them. Xia Mo confronts Su Chen who uses the jammer on her... again.
When he brags to Xin Yi about catching all of the witches, including Xia Mo. She realizes that he’s used her just to catch Xia Mo. When she tries to use her powers on him, he uses the jammer on her.
And why did Xin Yi get involved with him? Because all the other witches bullied her. Xia Mo was the only one who had been kind to her.

Backstabbing duo continues tormenting Xia Mo. Su Chen tries to kill all the witches but Xia Mo manages to knock him out.
Han Yu somehow finds her and she begs him to help them.
When they return home, he asks her why she didn’t tell him about five years ago. And he also knows about her death contract.
When they return to the bar, Xin Yi is nowhere to be found.

Main CP is officially back to honeymooning phase - they're sweet.
She makes a shooting star appear so they can make a wish together.
Xin Yi resurfaces and asks Han Yu if Su Chen really died, and if he’d asked about her before dying. She then takes him to Xia Mo.
The second to last petal falls and Han Yu laughs as Xia Mo coughs up blood. He's actually Su Chen in disguise as Han Yu.

Han Yu runs into faux Han Yu and the former gets kidnapped. Dundundun...
Xin Yi says goodbye to Xia Mo.
Back in the church, the guys engage in hand-to-hand combat. And just as Su Chen goes to stab Han Yu, Xin Yi shows up to stop him. She then apologizes to Han Yu about what happened five years ago as she now realizes that he’s actually a good person. She now wishes she’d never met Su Chen.

Su Chen tells her that there isn’t such a thing as love in this world. It was all just lies. He’s not contrite at all. And so when he hugs, she uses her powers to impale him with an arrow. And so the two of them die together.
The last petal of Xia Mo’s rose falls. Han Yu calls her name to wake her up. She wakes up and then tearfully strokes his face as she says that she wants to remember his eyebrows, eyes, nose and lips. He tells her that the first time he saw her, it was her eyes that drew him in, like stars, and they kept pulling him in. She’s grateful that they’ve been so lucky to have met. But then she rests and passes out on his shoulder.
He grabs the necklace and says that he’d trade his life the the one he loves the most just so she stays healthy, safe and sound, and lives on happily. Nothing happens. He repeats his wish. Still nothing. So he places her hand on the pendant and repeats his wish. They start glowing...
Xia Mo and Han Yu are getting married. And just as they say I do, her ring suddenly slips off. She wakes up from this dream and finds herself alone on the sofa. She realizes that Han Yu has traded his life for hers as he’s nowhere to be seen and she’s wearing the necklace. She sobs when she sees that the rose is vibrant and glowing. ㅜ^ㅜ
Time passes. Xia Mo continues making deals by letting people do a good deed in exchange for their wish. She’s learned what love is from Han Yu, so she can give those she cares about, without asking for anything in return.

[First Impression (Ep1-)] English title of this series is too much. Just call it The Witch's Contract. No VAs for Chen Fang Tong or Ren Yun Jie! First off, suspend all logic. Girl and her sister has witch powers. But they're not on the same team but jiejie (FL) doesn't know that yet. Secondly, if you're into the tall-guy-shorter-girl look, you've got it here with main CP-to-be. Lastly, if you're into dark and beastly CPs, enjoy 2CP's scenes.
