I've got you a sixth degree of reference between Wang Chu Ran and Lu Yu Xiao. Both Shanghai natives, 99'ers, and acted as sisters in The Longest Promise, and both hit with the same fate where the 2ML overshadowed their show. Oops. For WCR, it was Wei Da Xun in Fireworks of My Heart, the obsessive, dark, moody step-brother in suits and with expensive cars. For LYX, it's Dai Xu in Love Between Lines, the obsessive, dark, moody step-brother in suits and with expensive cars.

[Side note] To bring it back to our ladies, notice their zodiacs are different. While most 99'ers are 🐰 like LYX, WCR is a 🐯 because her birthday (Jan 21) fell before the 1999 Chinese New Year (Feb 16), and so she shares the same zodiac as the 98'ers.

But Wang Chu Ran suffered much more from Fireworks of My Heart. It is her career low – a storm of many factors: 1) poor drama that most audience did not connect with, 2) the relationship with Yang Yang came with free anti-fans, 3) the relationship with Yang Yang who also suffered an insane amount of hate and she became guilty by association, 4) poor character choices = love-brained FLs (because she's definitely an A-list actor with the luxury of picking her favourite roles /s) and 5) her attitude controversies (girl has a lot of eye white).
She has a "Smile Switch." Since being criticized for her "Resting B*tch Face," there are several viral fancams where you can see the exact moment she realizes a camera is on her, and she quickly turns on her smile. Fans have also captured her massaging her cheeks because they're tired from smiling.
2026 is her Redemption Era. Can she do it?! Dun dun dun. (Update after How Dare You!?: yeah, she did it.)
