It’s fresh in the beginning but loses steam in the middle. The plot is highly embroiled in palace conspiracy which becomes rather tedious. The video game plot made this drama unique but it is also my quibble. [Minor Spoiler] When plot gets bad, Lin Luo Jing has the ability to restart things. She also gets hints to arrive at a happy ending and timely magical items will randomly appear. It feels too easy, no? [/Sp] There isn’t that feeling of intensity; Lin Luo Jing will never lose with the video game changing things at her whim. Plot will suddenly change without logic. That is also the point of the video game.
I kept watching because I wanted to know what the ending would be for our couple. They’re still cute as ever with a ton of cheesy scenes between them. Their romance is resilient. Jealousy is their way of love; it’s petty but never serious because at the core of their relationship is unending trust. They’re the only reason I stayed.

As a fan of season one, I like the ending of season two. It’s a sweet wrap up of the entire series.

Zhong Wu Mei is so much more attentive here. Yet still arrogant as ever. 😆 (Gong Jun is the best at smiling with his eyes.) Holy moly, he's gorgeous as a woman (not surprised but blown away by how gorgeous!) He seriously needs to stop keeping things from Lin Luo Jing.

They made Liu Xiu Wen glow up for S2, as Prince Qi Yu. 😍 Sigh. I love this braver Liu Xiu Wen. (But he's getting played by Jin Chen.) This man is still willing to wait for Lin Luo Jing. He's selfless (for her) to the end. He lets himself be used by Lin Luo Jing, just to be by her. (He was lovely to look at here!) Rooftop Scene with Lin Luo Jing: "Because of lights and people of the tea house and restaurants are dizzying. I'd rather come to this dark rooftop to look at one flower only." *looks pointedly at her* (Dramaland, you're killing me with him.) Aww, and then she acts like he's joking. He actually dies for her in the end. He saves her by kissing her to give her antidote.
Poor Jiang Xuan Yu always gets stuck in the middle of their petty fights. He's so sweet, kind and a loyal friend. And he actually falls in love with Tang Meng. I really like him, and love him for not taking advantage of Lin Luo Jing.

Poor Tang Meng... so naive, sweet and easy to manipulate. Her love and jealousy for Jiang Xuan Yu ruined her. Her losing her memories might've been the best thing for her as she

Xiao Yu - I didn't trust her! Why was Lin Luo Jing so trusting of her so early on? (Because she bought her story?)

So many beautiful kisses for them... E6. And then it goes to amnesiac Zhong Wu Mei, forgetting only her though. They get back together but the honeymoon period is so short. These two are too quarrelsome and jealous...

Finally, Xi Que and Zhang Ji are together! The ways they tried to get him to confess to her were so cringe-y though. LOL

Hua Ying Chi... The new actor doesn't fit that passive, serene (but tormented) Hua Hua we all knew from S1.

Yi Yi might love Liu Xiu Wen but she's been manipulating everyone since S1. But she's loyal to only him.

Jin Chen and Yi Yi are annoying.... and they dragged out the conspiracy for too long.

Uhm. The ending. I'm not sure why the game can only be paused during certain events but not all of it - like every other disaster before the final capture by Jin Chen.

[Spoiler!]And Liu Xiu Wen died. 😭[/Sp]

The real world ending: I love seeing the guys without the costumes and wigs. 😁 Of course Liu Xiu Wen would want to hire her... as she's already been hired by Zhong Wu Mei.

The opening song for S2 is so beautiful. I usually skip the opening after the first few eps, but it was so enjoyable to listen to it.

I was glad to be able to watch S1 and S2 back-to-back but S2 had too much bloat which could've been achieved by at least 5 less eps. E14 onwards, there may have been a long press on fast forward button...

I actually preferred S1 over S2. Then again I would've missed Liu Xiu Wen as Prince Qi Yu. You can tell where my priorities are. 🤣
